Assessment of Physics Tuition Quality Parametrs
Žák, Vojtěch ; Kolářová, Růžena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Emanuel (referee) ; Janík, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis deals with acquisition and evaluation of parameters of the physics tuition quality at high schools. Mapping the existing approaches to the education quality and tuition quality, the work includes also description of the progress and results of an expert investigation, contributing to creation of a new technique for monitoring the physics tuition and assessing its quality. Following chapters describe details of the research assessing the quality of the physics tuition performed by ten teachers at seven Prague high schools, discussing the validity and reliability of the technique created. Within the thesis, didactic preparation has been elaborated based on results of the research, usable for teaching the physical topic titled "Energy and Conservation Laws in Mechanics". I have taught this topic and the tuition has been assessed using the new technique. The thesis includes also a manual for future users of the monitoring and assessment technique.
Pupil`s preconceptions in geometrical optics
Zedník, Michal ; Mandíková, Dana (advisor) ; Kolářová, Růžena (referee)
I was concerned with the preconceptions of the pupils in the area of geometric optics in my diploma work. I did the research among the pupils of grammar schools and multi-annual secondary schools. The used test contained ten questions. My choice of the questions was based on the researches concerning the misconceptions in optics that have been already done. I also mention the survey of these researches in my diploma work. I compiled the summary of the textbooks that are used at grammar schools and in the lower degrees of secondary schools in the next part. These textbooks are focused on the topics contained in the questions of the test. The survey of the testing results creates main part of my diploma work. I tested before and after the teaching of optics 162 pupils from eight classes of grammar schools and multi-annual secondary schools took part in the investigation. The table with the most frequent misconceptions that were ascertained during the testing is part of this survey. I devoted to the differences in the results between the pupils from grammar schools and multi-annual secondary schools and also the differences in the results of boys and girls.
Misconceptions in Physics at Elementary School - Suggestions on Procedure During Their Elimination.
Rusínová, Anita ; Drozd, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kolářová, Růžena (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I outlined the ideas of our school's students about certain physical phenomena. From my practical experience I regularly come across misleading ideas that my students hold, and which are common general public, yet do not correspond to reality and have no scientific base. They are called misconceptions. It is very difficult to disprove such ideas and, as previous research results have shown, almost impossible because most students turn back to their misconceptions when the classes are over. I try to suggest such teaching methods that would leave long-term information in some students at least and prevent them from returning to the original misleading ideas. I have also tried to find physical models which students come across during Physics lessons at an elementary school and through which they describe the reality incorrectly. Solar kits and optoelectronic components in physics tuition
Burkovec, Václav ; Drozd, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kolářová, Růžena (referee)
In my diploma thesis, there was created the summary of solar construcion, toys and another elements, which are available on the market. At first some construction were selected, than there were the experiments were drawn up and at the end the experiments were done by students dutiny the lessons. There is also a short movie including these experiment. The diploma thesis contains my own design of solar construction, the description of its manufactory and its use in teaching physics. There is also the description of accompanying website. On this website i tis possible to download the wokrsheets. These worksheets were tested dutiny the teaching and later than at work evalueted.

Schamberger, Jiří ; Mandíková, Dana (advisor) ; Kolářová, Růžena (referee)
Title: Pupil's preconceptions about heat and temperature Author: Jiri Schamberger Department: Department of Physics Education Supervisor: RNDr. Dana Mandikova, CSc., Department of Physics Education Advisor: Mgr. Petr Kacovsky Abstract: This thesis deals with the preconceptions of students in the field of heat and temperature. First, here is an overview of textbooks for elementary and secondary schools with topics concerning heat and temperature, and an overview of czech and foreign literature on the subject. The thesis also contains a survey conducted among primary school pupils and their corresponding grades of grammar schools and overview of misconceptions obtained on the basis of this survey. The final part contains two worksheets created to better understand the subject matter of the heat and temperature. Keywords: Preconceptions, misconceptions, heat, temperature, primary and grammar school pupils
