The Specifics of Depicting Christianity in the Cinematography of Andrei Tarkovsky
Ruzyak, Pavel ; Vogel, Jiří (advisor) ; Kolář, Pavel (referee)
in English The thesis examines historical and aesthetic development of cinematography from the point of view of spirituality. It takes into account church's dogmatic and iconographic perspective of the relationship between art and Christianity. Emphasis is placed on reviewing the meaning and goals of cinema from an Orthodox perspective. As a result of such research, cinema appears as a form capable of transmitting the spirituality of the Church, even though it is accomplished through specific stylistic and narrative means that are characteristic for spiritual cinema. Especially nowadays, the language of film needs a lot of internal (thematic and stylistic) and external work (church's and production) in order for valuable films to emerge from the environment of the church to continue the original tradition of spiritual cinema.
Analysis of diaphragm movement during its postural function using m-mode ultrasonography in conjunction with spirometry

Analysis of diaphragm movement during its postural function using m-mode ultrasonography in conjunction with spirometry Abstract The diaphragm is a principal inspiratory muscle that, together with the abdominal wall muscles, regulates intra-abdominal pressure, important for the postural stiffening of the spine. This dissertation aimed to analyse the movement of the diaphragm during breathing and postural loading, in relation to changes in respiratory volumes and abdominal wall tension. The theoretical part summarizes the current knowledge about the respiratory and postural functions of the trunk muscles, especially the importance of the diaphragm in maintaining spinal stability and preventing low back pain. The experimental part deals with the evaluation of postural- respiratory movement of the diaphragm using M-mode ultrasonography in conjunction with spirometry and a device called DNS Brace. The assessment was performed during several scenarios that included breath-holding, tidal breathing and loaded breathing while lifting a weight with spontaneous or voluntary contraction of the abdominal muscles. This research suggests that when the postural demands increase, the diaphragm is displaced in a more caudal position not only during inspiration but also during breath-holding. The voluntary contraction of the...
Program for calculation of ventilation and heating in synchronous machine
Kolář, Pavel ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (referee) ; Huzlík, Rostislav (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with ventilation of synchronous generators with a cylindrical rotor. For the design of ventilation we apply basic physical laws in the field of hydromechanics and thermomechanics. Therefore the first chapters are devoted to these subjects. They are followed by the description of ventilation systems and a thermal net is created and solved for one of them consisting of the thermal resistance and sources. The final part deals with a program, which I developed in Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition. This program enables to calculate the ventilation and heating of individual parts of the machine after entering basic machine dimensions and losses.
Frame of foundry trolley crane 330 t
Otevřel, Marek ; Kolář, Pavel (referee) ; Pokorný, Přemysl (advisor)
The topic of this diploma thesis is the frame of the foundry trolley crane 330/65/20t. The crane crab is used for handling with molten metal. The frame is analyzed by strength inspection and fatigue strength inspection. The process is according to ČSN EN 13001. The analyses are made by using finite element method on a beam and shell models. The diploma thesis was made in cooperation with the Královopolská a.s. company.
Analysis of crab frame of bridge magnet crane 15t 27,5m
Strommer, Bohumír ; Kolář, Pavel (referee) ; Pokorný, Přemysl (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with crab frame of bridge magnet crane with lifting capacity 15t used in steel mill for handling billets. Thesis contains strength analysis and fatigue strength check of crab frame based on ČSN EN 13001. Strength analyses are made by using beam and shell models of finite element method. The diploma thesis was carried out in cooperation with Královopolská a.s. company.
Application of LED in Lighting Technology
Kolář, Pavel ; Bátora, Branislav (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with basic principles of Light-Emitting Diodes, their supplying, characterization of these light sources in relation to application in luminaires, possibilities of application in standard practice and economical contribution of LED technology. It's mainly drawn from internet sources to this topic because manufacturers and distributors of lighting technology like Osram, Siteco, Philips, Bergquist, Cree, LEDfield and other companies provide a lot of catalogs with technical parameters and examples of applications on their webs.
Strength analysis of steel construction girders handling 186 t
Korenko, Miroslav ; Kolář, Pavel (referee) ; Pokorný, Přemysl (advisor)
This thesis deals with the strength analysis of girders handling 186 t. The main objective of this thesis is to perform strength control using the Finite Element Method. NX I-DEAS software was used to perform all the necessary calculations. Possible design changes for undersized components are also presented.
