Advanced driving system of the three-phase DC motor

The main aim of this thesis is to design and develop a control unit for a three-phase direct current motor that will be able to maximize its efficiency. To accomplish this request a field oriented control combined with modified phase driving signals is used. The emphasis is put on the creation of a simple and unique solution as well as the ability to use this device in the single wheel wehicle, which previous bachelor thesis was focused on. The first part of this thesis lists some of commercially available and do-it-yourself solutions together with their attributes. The next part describes target motors and different options of how to control them. The third part focuses on the field oriented control, its individual parts and features, as well as the final solution. And finally the realization of the electrical part, firmware, PC application and necessary settings are described at the very end of the thesis.
Binocular vision

This thesis is concerned in the binocular, or a spatial vision and stereoscopy. The first part is about the physiology of spatial and principle of vision. Next point of the work is addressing the implementation of synchronous scanning of static scenes using a pair of identical cameras. Implementation was carried out by two remote-controlled IR triggers. Another chapter is about stereoscopy, which is solved by the principle of image processing at a final spatial image. Image processing of stereo images is solved by using anaglyph. The last chapter describes how to build a program that is part of the work.
Analysis of the impacts of DS element failures on reliability indicators

Bachelor's thesis deals with the impacts of distribution network element failures on reliability indicators. Therefore it makes basic description of the reliability, the reliability indicators or the regulation of continuity in distribution of electric power. It also presents main results of the identification and evaluation of individual 22 kV elements failures in distribution network of PREdistribuce, a. s. between 2011 to 2016.
Single wheel vehicle

The main aim of this thesis is to design and build a self-balancing vehicle similar to a skateboard, utilizing only one wheel located in the centre of the device. The steering will be controlled by driver‘s tilt and the ride will resemble snowboarding or surfing. The initial part focuses on a comparison between commercially available devices. Frequently used components and their main attributes are described in the next part. After that, a possible solution is outlined, followed by an electrical design and firmware‘s function explanation. Final build, its set-up and overall results are summarised in the last part of this thesis.
QRS detection using zero crossing counting

This master’s thesis deals with the detection of QRS complex detection using zero crossing counts. QRS detection is an important part of the analysis of ECG signal. From the point of determining the R wave detection is based on the other waves and intervals necessary for the diagnosis of heart. This method is very effective even for very noisy signals. Implementation of the method in Matlab, and the success of detection is tested on the CSE and MIT-BIH database. The optimization algorithm is an optional value for the detector.
Reconstruction of the inlet channel to the turbine

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is designing the reconstruction of the watercourse leading to the mill complex in the Bohumileč village in Northern Bohemia. A proposal for a new safety weir has been developed on the watercourse, connecting to the existing dam with its original weir in an unsatisfactory state. A diagnostic survey and assessment of the original reinforced concrete channel in the former mill building, which has been supplying water to the water turbine since 1914, have been conducted.
Evolution, Function and Chemical Diversity of Queen Pheromones in Social Insects

Societies of eusocial insects are probably the most complex biological systems. Repeated independent evolution of eusocial organization in multiple insect lineages has typically led to an unprecedented ecological success of these insects. However, beside coordinated work activities and altruism, the eusocial societies are also characterized by a potential for conflict over reproduction, leading to the evolution of mechanisms that prevent this conflict and ensure the colony homeostasis. Though it has long been known that this role is mediated by Queen Pheromones, there is still an important knowledge gap between our understanding of the biological role of Queen Pheromones and their chemical identity, biosynthesis and perception. Although the first Queen Pheromone has been identified in the early 1960s, more intensive research in this area is the matter of the last decade. The best known Queen Pheromone is that of the honey bee, contrasting with the knowledge on other social Hymenoptera and termites. Elucidating the chemical nature of Queen Pheromones could help to a better understanding of the evolution of social insects, their life cycle and community organization. This thesis summarizes the knowledge about the evolution and chemistry of Queen Pheromones in social insects.
Application of RNA interference to studies on biology of termites

The RNA interference (RNAi) mechanism can be used to reduce the expression of a selected gene in an organism. This method, discovered in 1998, has become the "gold standard" in basic biological research with overlaps to applied research and gene therapy in human medicine. For many reasons, RNAi is a suitable tool for the studies on biology of insects. RNAi is endowed with high sequence specificity, low costs, and easy application also in non-model species. Termites (Isoptera) are very sensitive to RNAi and this method is widely used to understand their physiology and ontogeny. The use of RNAi also has a potential in applied termite research and a significant number of publications have focused on the development of RNAi techniques as non-chemical pesticides against economically important termite species. This bachelor thesis aims to give a broad overview of the existing research on termites that uses the RNAi method.
Reproductive strategy of the termite Silvestritermes minutus and its consequences for the life history and ecological succes

Mixed reproductive strategies are unique modes of reproduction, in which the organisms alternate sexual and asexual offspring production to benefit from both processes. In termites, such a strategy was first described in 2009 and dubbed Asexual Queen Succession (AQS). Reproduction in most termite species is based on a presence of one pair of long-lived reproductives, the primary king and queen, producing in a lifelong strict monogamy all other colony members using classical sexual processes. In a few rare species, the primary queen has been observed to be replaced at some stage of colony development by a harem of neotenic queens. These arise from unfertilized eggs via thelytokous parthenogenesis and reproduce with the founding king. While the workers, soldiers and winged dispersing reproductives remain to be produced sexually, new generations of parthenogenetic neotenic queens appear in the colony to supplement the harem. As long as the founding king is alive, the genetic constitution of most offspring remains identical as if the founding queen would still be alive, while the overall fecundity of the colony increases thanks to the large number of queens. Bio-psycho-social-spiritual model in the buprenorphine substitutional treatment

This thesis is focused on the application of holistic, bio-psycho-social-spiritual model of dependence to concrete therapeutic method, namely to the substitution treatment of persons dependent on opiate addictive substances with synthetic opioid buprenorphine. The aim is to describe the essence of BPSS model of addiction, with the specifics of opiate addiction, and the treatment system based on it. Also, to show substitution therapy as one of the most effective methods that improves quality of a dependent person's life. Further, to confirm the need for a holistic perception of substitution treatment when ersatz drug use itself is not a real chance for dependent persons, unless such treatment is accompanied by psychosocial and spiritual therapeutic approach. Another objective is to map the risk that, in practice, the substitution therapy initiation in a holistic range brings in the context of contemporary reality. The work will consider approach bases to opiate addicts, especially the optics of lifelong abstinence versus controlled use, leading to better quality of dependent person's life.
