UHPLC-HRMS in analysis of food supplements containing ginsenosides
Hlaváčová, Veronika ; Nováková, Lucie (advisor) ; Kočová Vlčková, Hana (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Analytical Chemistry Candidate: Veronika Hlaváčová Supervisor: prof. PharmDr. Lucie Nováková, Ph.D. Title of Diploma Thesis: UHPLC-HRMS in analysis of food supplements containing ginsenosides The aim of this work was to develop an analytical method for the analysis of the main components of a dietary supplement, in which the following plant extracts are contained: fenugreek seed, roseroot root, Asian ginseng root and damiana leaf. The ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC- HRMS) was used. Another goal was to determine whether prohibited testosterone is present in the dietary supplement. Measurements were carried out with ACQUITY UPLC I-Class System. A quadrupole time-of-flight mass analyzer SYNAPT G2-Si was used for mass spectrometric detection. Continuous data were collected. The data independent acquisition method (DIA) was used to collect data. The library of MS spectra of potentially predicted substances was created and ginsenosides were identified as major compounds. In the first step, the preparation of food supplement samples was optimized. Water, acetonitrile, methanol, ethanol and ethyl acetate were tested as solvents. In the next step, the chromatographic...

CAN Syndrome
HLAVÁČOVÁ, Veronika
The diploma thesis deals with CAN syndrome. The main goal of the thesis is to compare the knowledge of elementary school pupils, students of secondary schools and the general public about CAN syndrome. Another objective is to analyze the radiodiagnostic methods used to prove the effects of the syndrome. The last aim is to identify the position of the police for CAN syndrome. Within the main objective, two hypotheses were set. These hypotheses compared whether there is a statistically significant difference between the knowledge of primary school pupils and secondary school students, and secondary school students and the general public. To verify the hypotheses, a questionnaire survey was carried out and then descriptive and mathematical statistics were performed. The benefit of the diploma thesis is in gaining an overview about the knowledge of elementary school pupils, secondary school students and the general public of the CAN syndrome.
The migration of Slovak Roms to Carlsbad after 1945 (Case Study - settling down of the family Bílý and Sivák in Karlovy Vary in the years 1945 - 1952)
Hlaváčová, Veronika ; Sadílková, Helena (advisor) ; Kubaník, Pavel (referee)
My thesis is focused on the post war migration of the Roms from Slovakia to Czech lands, on the example of my own family whose ancestors have settled down , in late 1940's, in the town of Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) on the western border of the then Czechoslovakia. After the presentation of the methods I have used in my research and their pitfalls, my work then concentrates on the migration of the given families, including their stay in two temporary migration locations (Prague/Praha, Pilsen/Plzeň), their returns back to their home villages in Slovakia and the departure for Karlsbad. The migration occured between 1945 and late 1940's when the Sivák and Bílý families settled in Karlsbad for good. The presented case study is dedicated to clarify what reasons led the founders of the two families to their depart from Slovakia and to map the entire process of their migration. I will discuss the factors which influenced their migration and the reasons that made them to settle down permanently in the Czech lands. Through this study I was able to outline one of the possible ways how the postwar migration of Roms from Slovakia to the Czech lands has evolved in the early post- war years.
Incidence of developmental dyspraxia in very low birth weight children
Hlaváčová, Veronika ; Zounková, Irena (advisor) ; Kraus, Josef (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with very low birth weight children in relation to the occurrence of motor problems. The theoretical part provides an overview of knowledge about the low birth children's problems, early postnatal problems and problems from childhood to adulthood in the physical, psychological and pedagogic field. The main part of the theoretical information concerns the occurrence of motor disorders, particularly the developmental dyspraxia and motor disorders about very low birth children. The aim of the practical part of the work was to determine whether low birth weight infants have higher incidence of developmental dyspraxia in comparison with term infants. The research group consisted of 25 low birth weight children, they were examined by Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2 (MABC-2). Children were examinate for posture and postural functions compiled using our protocol. The another aim of the practical part of the work was to determine whether low birht weight children have higher incidence of physical activity in steps by week in comparison with normal birth weight infants. There was significant difference in the incidence of motor disorders between the research group and the control group of 73 normal birth weight children and standard population and the group of late...
The results of radiotherapy of head and neck tumors. Comparison of conformal radiotherapy and IMRT
HLAVÁČOVÁ, Veronika
Malignant tumors of the head and neck are globally around 5 % of all malignant tumors. To the group of tumors of the head and neck falls oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, and salivary glands. The main treatment modalities are included surgical treatment, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and biotherapy. The first aim of this thesis was to compare the results of radiotherapy of tumors of the head and neck in a hospital in Ceske Budejovice with specialised literature. The second objective was to compare conformal and IMRT techniques within the meaning of recurrences.Data collection was conducted in patients diagnosed with tumor of the oral cavity and pharynx during years 2004 to 2010. When comparing treatment results with data from the first scientific literature with the results monitored group agree on decreasing tendency on five-year survival with increasing degree of the stadium. When comparing five-year survival rate for tumors of the oral cavity with the reference group of patients with data from the other specialised literature, correspondence does not exist. In this case, the hypothesis can not be confirmed. In the second set hypothesis it was assumed that the lower incidence of relapses occur after irradiation by the technique IMRT. Although the hypothesis was confirmed, although the gap between the technology 3D-CRT and IMRT for recurrences is tiny, only tenths.A crucial factor influencing survival is the time of diagnosis. Improving this fact could be achieved by appropriate preventive programs, which are targeted primarily at risk group of people.
Marketing of the town Rejštejn
Hlaváčová, Veronika ; Peková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kadeřábková, Jaroslava (referee)
The topic of this thesis is the marketing of the town of Rejštejn in the Bohemian Forest. In 2007, the town regained the status of a town, which could be the first step in restarting socio-economic development and supporting tourism. The thesis focuses mostly on a detailed analysis of the current use of the marketing mix, whose results enable for suggesting future improvements in the marketing of the town of Rejštejn.
