Staff Performance Evaluation Application
Slivka, Lukáš ; Křivánek, Mirko (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee)
This thesis presents the Balanced Scorecard methodology, which belongs to the most widely accepted way of measuring business performance. The work emphasizes the human resources sector and wants to highlight the role. Employees representing the most important capital of the modern organization must have an idea about the functioning of business in a deeper context. Their performance management and pay system connected with BSC of firm are essential to increase the firm's value. Automating the process at a higher number of employees is a must.
Database of students and their payments
Konárová, Marie ; Hoksza, David (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee)
The present work contains a database scheme for managing data about high school students, school clubs or events, attendance to these activities and payments for them. It also includes functions to faciliate the scheduling. An entity-relationship model and a data flow model are described. The defi nition of user roles and their properties is also a part of the project. The database is protected against data inconsistence. A part of user interface is implemented to provide an example of the form of possible further application. The implemented part contains most of the processes supported by one of the user roles. Moreover, it contains a program unit for logging to system. The work includes a CD with source codes for creating all database structures, triggers and procedures. Source codes for the implemented part of user interface are also included.
OWL Editor
Gajdoš, Michal ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes usage and development of the Growler software project. The Growler programme is a graphical editor of ontologies written in the OWL language, which belongs to the (group of) semantic web formats. The editor is capable of reading, modifying and saving documents in the OWL format. The Growler allows designing of ontologies in a visual and a non-visual mode and modification of special elements that exist in the RDF/XML syntax. Users are free to switch between the individual modes. The visualisation displays resources together with their assigned properties. Displayed resources can be directly edited. Besides graphical editation the Growler contains a set of forms designed for non-visual modification of classes, properties and individuals. Resources in the form editor are represented using a hierarchically ordered tree. A user works with the application on a project level, into which ontology documents are inserted. Simultaneously there is a possibility of importing an external ontology into a project, based on a given URI. The Growler is developed and distributed as a plugin for the Eclipse platform.
Combining classifiers by means of fuzzy methods
Moravec, Jaroslav ; Holeňa, Martin (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee)
In this paper we elaborate a method of combining classifiers by means of the tconorm integral for SVM classifiers ensembles. We compare accuracy of combined classifiers for the case of SVM classifiers and quazi-Sugeno integrals. For t-conorm systems for integration, which we use to determine quazi-Sugeno integrals, we use t-norms from three families of t-norms, Aczél-Alsina family, Dombi family and Frank family. Results of our experiments show that combining classifiers by Sugeno integral is superior to integrals relying on the other considered t-norms.
HTML data extraction
Hošek, Petr ; Kopecký, Michal (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee)
Goals of this work are design and implementation of an application which will allow efective data extraction from HTML pages. Emphasis is put on maximal utilization of existing XML technologies. Resulting application is based on XQuery language, which is extended by options allowing to work with web pages and combines it with other technologies for searching for relevant parts in free text. At the same time, it allows the usage of XSLT language for transformation of data into the required form. Application contains command-line, graphical and server interface, which is accompanied by user extension for Mozilla Firefox 3 web browser. Command-line interface allows the batch processing of queries whereas the graphical interface o ers user friendly way of creating queries. Server interface then brings the possibility of using application as a part of other applications and solutions.
Home gastronomic advisor
Jelínek, Jakub ; Skopal, Tomáš (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee)
The propounded work deals with collecting recipes from the Internet, their storing into database and consequential retrieval of these recipes according to user's criteria. Recipes can be obtained based on patterns described by regular expressions, or by using automatic recognition mechanism. For each obtained recipe there are identified its ingredients, their amount and activities required to complete this recipe. Preparation time is automatically estimated, if not already present. There is also mechanism that prevents same recipe to be stored repeatedly into database. For recipe retrieval, there are designed rules for ingredient matching that supports semantic affinity (doughnut - pastry), semantic divergence for similar ingredients (ice - ice cream) and simple way of taking specified amount in relation to the required into account. On the basis of this matching rules are created three user selectable criteria for determining relevance. User and programmer documentation is part of this work.
Alarm system using web cameras
Bedecs, Vladimír ; Eckhardt, Alan (advisor) ; Dokulil, Jiří (referee)
In the present work we study problems of security system using web cameras. This includes creation of program, which is able to detect motion in captured image frames and trigger alarm. The program is written for operating system Windows. This work includes description of some standard algorithms for motion detection, which are used in enclosed program SecureCam. Also analyzes software architecture and design of applications working with more video inputs at once. In the last pages of this work can reader find some advices and tutorials on using of made application.
Semantic Data Extractor
Beňo, Miloslav ; Zavoral, Filip (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee)
The aim of this work is to implement a system designed to effectively extract big amounts of data from web pages. The system is able to extract data both from simple static pages as well as complicated web applications. Data extracted from the web can have all sorts of types and can be interconnected by relations having various cardinalities. Working with system is based on XML documents, into which the given task is described in a declarative way. The description of a task is based on using system components, which connected together are able to do desired functionality on general web page.
Semantic personalization
Koudelka, Václav ; Zavoral, Filip (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee)
The aim of this work is to design and implement a tool in form of framework, which is destined for web architects and should enable methods of personalization within the scope of arbitrary web application. Framework will obtain information on functioning of web application, it will try to determine, how is application used by users and based on this knowledge it will attempt to make using of application more efficient by means of environmental adaptations. During framework designing emphasis will be put on easiness of using within common web application, to its work it should use only means commonly available within any standard webhosting. For every user will be application environment personalized on the basis of his behaviour. Part of framework will be intelligent precision mechanism, whose input will be data about web application usage and data retrieved from user. Output will be set of recommendations for application modification. Part of thesis is also sample web application, in which framework potential is demonstrated.
Methods for finding best answer with different user preferences
Eckhardt, Alan ; Vojtáš, Peter (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (referee)
User preferences are one of new aspects in informatics, e.g. in domain of semantic web. This work tries to cover the whole problematic of user preferences, their modeling, various aspects of generating user preferences and their evaluation. It also studies the area of group decision and finding answer that suits all members of group. Next part follows the paper of Ronald Fagin, Amnon Lotem, Moni Naor about the top-k algorithm. The new independent system for the top-k algorithm is presented, some implementations of this algorithm are tested and the influence of modules of algorithm on the speed and the number of rows are studied.
