Vladislav II. Jagiellonian as a founder and patron

The bachelor thesis focuses on Vladislav II. Jagiellonian and his founding and patronage activities in the territory of current Prague. In addition to the recostruction of Prague Castle, it focuses in detail on the description and historical development of four selected buildings, namely the Powder Gate, the Governor's Summer Palace in Bubeneč, the Church of the Virgin Mary and ST. Charlemagne in Prague in Charles and the Church of ST. Jindřich and Kunhuta in the New Town of Prague, during the Jagiellonian era. The aim of this work is describes the circumstances of the origin of these buildings and the king's connection to the foundations. The work also examines the meaning of the royal initial W in the already mentioned buildings.

The Brewery Museum in Pilsen: history, exhibitions and educational programmes

The master thesis of the Brewery Museum in Pilsen, its history, exhibitions and educational programmes, is divided into five chapters. The first chapter deals with the brief history of the Brewery Museum in Pilsen, its current and planned exhibitions and the museum's cooperation with the Pilsen breweries. The following chapter deals with museum pedagogy, in addition to legislation and important concepts, the reader will also read useful advice for creating educational programmes. The next three chapters deal with creating educational programmess commissioned by the Brewery Museum. The third and fourth chapters contain a description of tours with educational elements. One is entitled "Following the traces of ancient Pilsen with a four-legged friend" and in addition to an outline of Pilsen's history, during this tour pupils will learn a lot of information about the life of ordinary people in medieval cities. The second programme is entitled "How liquid bread was brewed in Pilsen" and contains activities leading to an understanding of beer brewing patterns and the importance of brewing for the development of the city of Pilsen. The fifth chapter describes an educational programme called "Na den bečvářem" and introduces pupils to the traditional craft of cooperage and its offshoots of beverage.

History of the town and castle Budyně nad Ohří

My thesis is about the town of Budyně nad Ohří, the central point of the topic will be the history of the town, but also the castle, which is inherently part of the town. The focus of my thesis will lie on the history and development of the town. In this part I will draw mainly on a regional work from a teacher in Antonín Janda. Next the work will be based on primary documents, which I will search in registers and diplomats. In the work there is also information about noble families that resided on Budyně, specifically I will deal with Zajíc z Házmburku, Šternberků and last but not least Ditrichštejn, I will not leave out the smaller house of Herberstein. I also deal with other castles and towns around Budyně nad Ohří. I have included the town of Budyně in the wider context of northern Bohemia and also in contrast with similarly large towns. The main content of the work is about the medieval history of the town and also deals with medieval towns in general terms the ways of their creation and also how they were important for medieval man. In one part I also try to describe the difference in the perception of towns in Antiquity and in the Middle Ages. Mělník as the residence of Czech queens

The topic of this bachelor thesis is Mělník, a famous royal dowry town that used to be an essential residence of numerous queens of Kingdom of Bohemia. The focus is on the importance of Mělník throughout history, from its creation in the 9th century to the 15th century. The first two rulers to reside in Mělník were Przemysl princesses Ludmila and Emma. The last queen to ever stay in Mělník was Joanna of Rosenthal in the 15th century. This thesis is dedicated mainly to queens Elizabeth of Bohemia, Barbara of Cilli and Joanna of Rosenthal. The aim is to analyze available historical documents and secondary literature sources and use them to explain the connections of the queens to the town, portray Mělník as their residency and explain its economic and political effects. The impact of education and counseling for adults with disabilities in the context of employment on the labor market in the Central Bohemian Region

The diploma thesis discusses the influence of education and counseling for persons with disabilities in the context of employment on the labor market. The labor market is determined by the borders of the Central Bohemian Region. The importance of this topic is seen for its change over time and development and for its indispensability from the point of view of help in the future. It expresses support and hope for people who carry some kind of limitation. Two phenomena arose in this area - disability representing a dominant determinant limiting the quality of life, and employability as a driving force for improving the living situation of persons with disabilities. Employability is a prerequisite for self-realization and socialization. The process of socialization and the success of work integration clearly depend on the attitudes of society, and this is reflected in the opinions and behavior of employers, but also in state intervention. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, the author initially tries to provide a theoretical explanation of the influence of lifelong education on society and individuals. Life in St. George's Abbey in Prague in the Middle Ages

This dissertation focuses on the community of Benedictine nuns at St. George's Church in Prague Castle from its foundation around 970 to the 16th century. It is based on a detailed study of primary sources (especially surviving monastic charters, manuscripts, but also records of church administration and other extra-monastic references) and takes into account the results and approaches of contemporary monastic research. Thus, the doctoral thesis revises existing knowledge and traditional clichés, opens new questions and seeks answers to old ones (e. g. concerning convent's Benedictine observance, Latin literacy of the nuns, the enclosure, and authority over the abbey). It is the first scholarly work to examine in detail the number and origins of the nuns, their education, kinship ties, contacts, and the spatial framework that determined their everyday life. It also traces the wider staff of their church and analyses in detail the major conflicts that influenced the development of the convent.

The life and work of Jaroslav Svatoň

Jaroslav Svatoň worked all his life in the State Institute of Monument Care and Nature Conservation. During his career, he devoted himself to the registration of monuments, research of medieval plasters, urban heritage reservations, forecasts in the field of heritage conservation, scientific research in this field and the use of the heritage fund in the field of tourism. The aim of the thesis is to capture the personal and professional life of Jaroslav Svatoň and to provide an overview of his work in the field of heritage conservation. To fulfill this goal, I used the historical method, i.e. work with primary sources from the estate of Jaroslav Svatoň, with the records of the professional library and documentation fund of the National Heritage Institute, and with the memories of family members and collaborators of Jaroslav Svatoň. The work is divided into three parts, in the first I describe the personal and professional life of Jaroslav Svatoň. The second part contains the legal framework for the third part, in which I deal with the activities and work of Jaroslav Svatoň in the field of heritage conservation. Henry of Carinthia. Transformation of historians's perception of his rule.

This bachelor's thesis deals with view on the figure of Henry of Carinthia, whose image was usually unflattering in the works of Czech historians. This view of Henry is based on an important source, the Zbraslav Chronicle, which, among other things, also describes the period when Henry of Carinthia governed in the Kingdom of Bohemia (1306-1310). For a long time, Zbraslav Chronicle was considered as a set of true testimonies. The author of the Zbraslav Chronicle, very influential Cistercian Petr Žitavský, acted as a direct witness to the events described, and also due to some almost diary-like entries in certain parts of the chronicle, no one doubted the relevance of his entries. In other chronicles, Czech historians adopt the perspective of the author of the Zbraslav Chronicle, as they consider it a reliable source. Thus, Henry of Carinthia entered the consciousness of the majority based on the description of Petr Žitavský, as a weak monarch without vision and the necessary skills of a successful ruler. At the beginning of the 21st century, Jakub Razim came up with a new perspective on the Zbraslav Chronicle and thereby influenced the subsequent work of other historians.
