The motif of death in the Aztec poetry of the representatives of the Aztec Alliance
Berková, Veronika ; Poláková, Dora (advisor) ; Urbancová, Linda (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the motive of death from different perspectives in Aztec poetry. My primary literary source is the collection of poems Poesía Náhuatl II - Cantares mexicanos by Angel María Garibay Kintana. Since Aztec poetry is written in Nahuatl, I will use solely Spanish translations. I will focus on the work of Aztec rulers and poets in one person from the Aztec "Triple Alianza" in the Mexican territory of Tenochtitlán, Texcoco and Tlacopán. Keywords pre-Columbian literature, Triple Alliance, Aztec poetry, death, impermanence, Tenochtitlán, Texcoco, Tlacopán
Immune response of mouse respiratory tract after immunization with influenza virus
Berková, Veronika ; Prokešová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Tučková, Ludmila (referee)
Immune response of mice after mucosal immunization by influenza virus type A with bacterial adjuvant Bacillus firmus Immunization of mice by inactivated influenza virus via respiratory tract induces a good mucosal and systemic immune response if bacterial adjuvant - delipidated G+ non- pathogenic bacterium Baccillus firmus (DBF) - is used. BALB/c mice were immunized intratracheally (IT) or intranasally (IN) with inactivated influenza A/PR/8/34 virus in combination with adjuvant DBF (50, 100, 200 or 500μg per immunization dose). We tested the production of antibodies against homologous virus and cross-reacting antibodies against subtype H3N2, H6N2 and H9N2 viruses in serum and mucosal secretions of nose, lungs and intestine by the ELISA method. Immunization of mice with virus itself induces the production of antibodies against homologous virus and lower production of cross-reacting antibodies against heterologous subtypes. Immunostimulatory adjuvant activity (optimal 100μg per immunization dose) enhances systemic and mucosal antibody production against homologous virus (H1N1) and markedly against heterologous subtypes (H3N2, H6N2, H9N2), especially after IT immunization of mice. For evaluation of cellular immunity, we tested spleen cell proliferation of immunized mice by 3 H-thymidine incorporation and...
Analýza užitkovosti v ekologickém chovu koz
Berková, Veronika
The goal of this thesis is the analysis of the milk yield on a particular organic farm breeding goats. The milk yield was monitored and evaluated in the control range 2015-2017. The data was obtained from the yield checks carried out by SCHOK (Association of Goat and Sheep Breeders) and from the farm's own records. The testing was run on 526 White Shorthaired goats yielding 760,08 kg of milk for standard lactation with a fat content of 3.4% in 2017. There has been a trend of rising milk yields on the farm since 2015 when the yield reached 627.77 kg of milk with a fat content of 3.02%. This trend was statistically highly potent (P<0.01), as well as the protein content (%) in milk which has dropped from 2.97% to 2.73% during the the same period of time. In addition, 184 goats on the 1st lactation and 177 goats on the 2nd lactation belonging to 16 father lines were evaluated. These lines were compared to each other by individual milk yield indicators. In the lactose content (%) the Krasus line dominated (4.83%) which showed statistically significant difference (P<0.05) compared to the Molch and Emil lines whose lactose content was the lowest (4.51% and 4.53% respectively). The 2nd lactation testing evaluated the number of somatic cells in the milk, with an average value of the group monitored being 1543.12 thousand of somatic cells per one mililiter. The highest number of the SC was measured in the Bera line (4437.17 thousand SC/ml) with statistical conclusiveness (P<0.05) compared to Bernd (758.5 thousand SC/ml), Curt (858.42 thousand SC/ml), Zub (444.24 thousand SC/ml), and Zuzek (696.77 thousand SC/ml) lines which reached the lowest values. In other observed milk yield parameters, the lines on both lactations showed marked differences in the values achieved but they were not statistically proven.
Reflection of selected aspects of social policy by the perspective of young adults with health disabilities
Berková, Veronika ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Angelovská, Olga (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with a social policy of Czech Republic and young disabled people. The main aim of this thesis is an evaluation of social policy. If and how social policy reflects needs and issues of disabled persons. The second aim of this thesis is an indentification of biggest issues which disabled people have with a support of interviews with respondents - users of social policy. Next aim is to describe how actual social policy supports to solve issues of disabled people. This thesis analyzes possibilities of current social policy for young disabled people, how these possibilities disabled people use and how it helps them. This diploma thesis also deals with a question, if current social policy support indenpendence of young disabled people and helps them to have their own indenpendent life and household. Also topic of negative gaps in current social policy is subject of this thesis.
Vliv plemenné příslušnosti a technologie chovu na růstovou schopnost jatečného skotu
Berková, Veronika
My Bachelor s thesis deals with the impact of breed and breeding technology on growth of the cattle for slaughter. It aims at defining every cattle breed that has been frequently used for slaughter in the Czech Republic. It also aims at describing the most common technologies of animal housing in the period of animal fattening. It points out that the essential principles and rules must be applied and followed so that the healthy offspring might be reared. At the same time, this Bachelor s thesis shows various methods of animal rearing, dairy cattle and meat cattle breeding too. In the initial part of the Bachelor s thesis, there are statistical data on the cattle livestock, amounts of slaughtered animals and data concerning the beef meat production. A year-on-year comparison of data has been made, and these data have been compared internationally as well. There is a chapter that deals with the nutrition and diet of the cattle for slaughter and veals in the Bachelor s thesis. Nutrition, diet and growth of the cattle for slaughter are closely related. In the final part of the Bachelor s thesis, an experiment is outlined. It is to be carried out for the purpose of the Master thesis later. It is to evaluate the growth of animals bred with various breeding technologies (animals will be weighed and the growth of animals will be measured).
