Print media in fight for national existence of Lusatian Serbs

The thesis Printed media in the struggle for national existence of the Lusatian Sorbs in its theoretical part deals with the historical development of the western Slavic ethnic group and its literature. Here are mentioned leading cultural workers of the nation, together with their merits, leading to uplift culturally and linguistically vulnerable minority. Based on the study of three Sorbian printed periodicals in the practical section of the thesis, I analyze ways of editors to maintain linguistic and cultural identity ethnicity. Aim of the diploma thesis is to show form of printed materials based in the bilingual region, and partly analyze the work of the media, which motivates further efforts to maintain the existence of the nation.

Mediainfo.cz and its importance for the Czech media environment Klára Böhmová 2015 Abstract The thesis "Mediainfo.cz and its importance for the Czech media environment," applies to the internet media server mediainfo.cz during the period from September 2013 to September 2014, when articles dealing with mass media issues were published there. The main objective was to find out what was the thematic focus of mediainfo.cz, who its authors and readers were, and what its competition was in the field of electronic media - the extent to which the project was unique and its standing on the Czech media scene. The first part of my thesis is devoted to the concept of agenda setting, which emphasizes the influence of the media in shaping public opinion and thus its social significance. The concept of agenda setting provides an appropriate theoretical framework for the study of Internet media servers dealing with mass media. The second part of the thesis is a case study that focuses on the actual profile of the server mediainfo.cz, compiled by using theoretical qualitative analysis. I have then used the conclusions from this middle chapter for comparison in the following and the final part. Government Information Campaign "Against Missiles

This thesis deals with the communication campaign of the government of the Czech Republic with regard to the possible Czech participation at the project of the US anti-missile defense system. The project was implemented by the Czech government following the official request from the USA on January 19, 2007, consequently the Czech answer to this request on March 28, 2007. From the foundation of the Czech Republic it was the third communication campaign related to the question of the Czech sovereignty and to the position of the Czech Republic within the international community. The previous campaigns referred to the acceptance of the Czech Republic to the EU and NATO. The objective of the thesis is focused on tracing methods and specifics of the Czech governmental communication of that issue towards the Czech public. Content and formal features of the particular communication materials were analyzed by quantitative and qualitative content methods. The governmental information campaign on the radar device, respectively on the issue of the anti-missile defense system can be framed in the time period of May 25, 2007 and March 31, 2008, when the governmental commissioner for the communication of the project, Tomáš Klvaňa, was in charge.
