Zradičková Šafránková, Karla ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (referee) ; Šírová, Eva (referee)
The ability of autoregulation of an individual is a process which moderates coping with social demands. The transition from family environment to a nursery school, functioning in the interaction of various changes, can be considered one of such strong developmental challenges. Theoretical foundations of our research project consist of the concept of resilience based on social cognitive theory. Our probands were a group of 97 preschool children, beginning with attending a nursery school, incoming from the family environment. The data has been collected twice, in September and November. In our research, the data stem from two sources - teacher's observations, and a questionnaire method. As for observations, the areas of monitoring have been established in advance. The frequency and quality of behavioral expressions of children in the adaptation period were recorded by teachers utilizing observation sheets, which were created based on the study of literature on adaptation, and empiricism. Resilient factors are operationalized by initiative, self-regulation, and quality of relationships, measured by means of the DECA - P2 (Devereux Early Childhood Assessment for Preschoolers) questionnaire method. For the purposes of this research, it was transferred and converted into the Czech language from the...

The ability of autoregulation of an individual is a process which moderates coping with social demands. The transition from family environment to a nursery school can be considered one of such developmental tasks. This transition may become one of the major challenges both for the child and family, and also for the pedagogues, since it does not involve solely one change, but rather functions in the interaction of various changes. The aim of our research is to determine the development of resilience during one of the first significant transient moments in a child's life, such as admission to a nurser school, and also significance of autoregulation in this process. Theoretical foundations of our research project consist of the concept of resilience based on social cognitive theory. Given the focus on the adaptation of a child to education system, the issue also includes the question of autoregulation, which in our cultural context is an important component of successful coping with social demands. Another important aspect involved in the successful adaptation is undoubtedly the psychological resilience of a child, in terms of the ability to effectively deal with stress and adversity. The focus of our research are preschool children (three to six years), adapting to the new environment of a nursery...

Feelings of fear inevitably belong to our lives - they accompany us from birth up to death. Although fear is generally perceived highly negatively, it is a human's helpful companion, and an utterly natural phenomenon. This thesis deals with description of principles of fear perception of pre-school children and strategies of coping with situations, in which these children have to face their fears. In particular we observe what are today's pre-school children afraid of, and what are the strategies which help to successfully cope with their fears based on. This thesis consists of two sections. In the theoretical section, we aim to define the concepts of fear and of the closely related anxiety. We also deal with concepts of this emotion according to various psychological schools, and we describe the relation of fear emotion to individual ontogeny. We as well briefly mention regulation of emotions and coping strategies. In the empirical section, we analyze results of employed methods, and find mutual relations between them. For the purpose of accomplishment of the above mentioned objectives, we have developed a group program, consisting of several consecutive tasks. The program comprises of a short semi-structured interview, the "group thermometer" method, drawing on designated subject matter and "group...

In the first phase of the research, children were given the Human Figuře Drawing Test, mainly as a springboard for evoking a friendly atmosphere. After that, the Unfinished Sentences Subtest of the Michal's Projective Interview test set (1974) took pláce. The self-esteem of the children with dyslexia and of the check sample was investigated by the virtue of the SPAS questionnaire (Questionnaire of the school achievements self-appraisal, Matějček, Vágnerová, 1987). The research results show, that there are certain differences between each investigated group and the check sample. Children attending a speciál class tend to be more anxious, introverted, their creations bear signs of regression and primitivism more often compared to integrated children, and reading persists as their major problém. On the other hand, integrated children appear more...
