The methodology describes the importance of open woodlands for biodiversity, the history and current state of the open woodlands in the Czech Republic, and management strategies that can be used in restoration, maintenance, and conservation of forests with open structure of the canopy. The methodology serves as general guidelines for managers on sites where open woodlands or their associated specialized species are still present.

The effect of different management strategies on the dynamics of saproxylic insect habitats

The thesis concerns studies on habitats utilized by insects associated with deadwood. It presents a review of current issues in the conservation of saproxylic biodiversity. The effects of active intervention on temperate lowland woodland habitats, such as pollarding or coppicing, are evaluated in terms of their suitability for saproxylic communities and other groups. Further, the importance of open-grown trees for saproxylic diversity is assessed.

The guidebook thus delivers effective guidelines for care for populations of this „priority“ species protected by European Union. The application of management measures described in the guide will ensure survival existing populations of this highly threatend species as well as their spread to wider environs of currently inhabited sites.

Contributions to the ecology of hollow dependent saproxylic beetles

The thesis consists of two studies contributing to knowledge about the ecology of two model saproxylic species dependent on tree hollows. It includes, firstly, an analysis of the habitat requirements of the violet click beetle, Limoniscus violaceus, and secondly, an analysis of the association of several saproxylic beetles with the presence of the hermit beetle, Osmoderma barnabita, in hollows.

This thesis is entitled "Financial Analysis of Staropramen Breweries, Inc." and its primary objective is to evaluate the financial health of the company. Secondly, the task is to compare with the leader in the Czech market, which is a Pilsner Urquell, Inc. The work is divided into two main parts. Theoretical and methodological part provides information about users for which the output of this work is useful, the resources and information necessary for financial analysis and explains the financial indicators and used models. The practical part is a brief description of the company Staropramen Breweries, Inc. and consequently the financial analysis of this company. Calculations are based on information from company annual reports in combination with established procedures in the theoretical part. The conclusion contains a summary of relevant information across financial analysis and a brief assessment.
