Metodika popisuje význam světlých lesů pro biodiverzitu, historii a současný stav světlých lesů v České republice a způsoby péče, které lze využít při obnově, udržování a ochraně lesních porostů s otevřenou strukturou. Metodika slouží jako obecné vodítko pro subjekty hospodařící na lokalitách s výskytem světlých lesů nebo s výskytem druhů na světlé lesy vázaných. The methodology describes the importance of open woodlands for biodiversity, the history and current state of the open woodlands in the Czech Republic, and management strategies that can be used in restoration, maintenance, and conservation of forests with open structure of the canopy. The methodology serves as general guidelines for managers on sites where open woodlands or their associated specialized species are still present.
