Optimization of HPLC separation of penicillin derivatives
Šímová, Veronika ; Kalíková, Květa (advisor) ; Tesařová, Eva (referee)
Penicillins are part of β-lactam antibiotics, which are wide spread in human and veterinary medicine. The aim of this bachelor work was to develop and to optimize HPLC method for separation of four derivatives of penicillin - amoxicillin, 4-hydroxyphenoxymethylpenicillin, benzylpenicillin and phenoxymethylpenicillin. The reserved phase HPLC with octodecyl stationary phase was used in this work. The baseline separation of all analytes was not obtained in isocratic elution. For this reason, the gradient elution was examined on the baseline resolution of all analytes was achieved and the analysis time did not exceed 22 minutes. The stability of methanolic solutions of penicillins was tested during eight days. Key words: HPLC, antibiotics, derivatives of penicillins, reverse mod, stability

Šímová, Veronika ; Hošková, Blanka (advisor) ; Strnad, Pavel (referee)
Title: The influence of swimming on children cerebral palsy of children Thesis objective: To establish and evaluate subjective perception of swimming training on children with cerebral palsy through continual observation. To asses miscellaneous influences of swimming on children with children cerebral palsy. Methodology: Questionnaire among swimmers of Kontak bB, civic association; observation and interview with parents of children with children cerebral palsy. Results: Results of the questionnaire, interviews as well as of observation show a positive influence of swimming on the health state of children suffering from children cerebral palsy. Keywords: Children celebral palsy, influence of swimming, swimming ekucation and training
Reflection of the economic crisis in contemporary Greek literature: Petros Markaris, Trilogy of the Greek crisis.
Šímová, Veronika ; Šípová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Tsivos, Konstantinos (referee)
Petros Markaris's detective novel addresses the economic crisis, highlighting the economic, political and social crisis rather than the crime cases. In the first part of my master's thesis, the detective novel is addressed in the wider context of the greek contemporary literature and the development of the genre is briefly described. Thereafter, an analysis of the content of the trilogy regarding the crisis and the description of the main topics, such as unemployment, migration and far-right wing is carried out. In the next chapters, the common characteristics of all the novels are described. Furthermore, a research was conducted regarding the translations into German, Spanish and Italian to find out why Petros Markaris gained popularity abroad.
Annotated translation: La fauna iberoamericana
Šímová, Veronika ; Obdržálková, Vanda (advisor) ; Králová, Jana (referee)
This bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The first one deals with the translation of selected chapters of a Spanish publication called La fauna iberoamericana by the zoologist Miguel Delibes de Castro. The second part focuses on the translation analysis, translation techniques description and problem definitions which I encountered while translating and justification of their solution.
Separation of peptides on a newly designed cyclofructan-based stationary phase, characterization of separation system
Šímová, Veronika ; Kalíková, Květa (advisor) ; Janečková, Lucie (referee)
Hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography is in the present time very often used for separation of polar compounds which are complicated separated in reverse phase HPLC or they are not sufficiently retained. Various stationary phases suitable for HILIC are commercially available and new stationary phases are still developing. In this work bare silica and isopropyl cyclofructan modified silica stationary phases were compared. Chromatographic behavior of sets of four pentapeptides and five nonapeptides was tested in detail under hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography. Additionally, mobile phase composition changes the types of interaction and their strengths were studied using linear free energy relationship method. Obtained results denoted that the main role in the retention mechanism on the isopropyl cyclofructan stationary phases play hydrogen bond acidity and dipolarity/polarizibility, while dispersion interactions are preferred in the mobile phase. On the other hand, bare silica stationary phase provides only one interaction type - hydrogen bond acidity. Key words: peptides, cyclofructan, LFER, HILIC

Materials research report – Oil on canvas painting by the continuator of Petr Brandl – „The Mendicant (St. Anthony)“. National Gallery in Prague
Hradilová, J. ; Hradil, David ; Šímová, Veronika ; Patsch, J.
Pre-restoration materials research of the painting is based on microscopic (both optical and electron) analyses of grounds and painting layers in the cross-sections of fragments with the aim to identify pigments and to describe the stratigraphy of re-paints involving to choose the suitable restoration procedure. Other methods (e.g. infrared spectroscopy or MALDI-TOF) are used for identification of binding media.
