Title: Influencing of the physical fitness, body composition and balance abilities in ten-year-old girls with sedentary lifestyle through the aerobic form of physical activity Goal of the study: The goal of the dissertation is to verify if there's any influence of Aerobics exercise on girl's physical fitness, their body composition and balance abilities. The study wants to find out if four-month Aerobics intervention (twice a week, 60 minutes of each session) can impact the physical fitness, body composition and balance abilities in ten-year-old girls. Methods: For physical fitness testing four items of standardized test battery UNIFIT test 6-60 (standing broad jump, sit/ups per minute, 4x10m Shuttle run, endurance Shuttle run) were used. For body composition testing the bioelectrical impedance method was used (tetra-polar multifrequency B.I.A. 2000 M). Body fat percentage, body water content, muscle mass were measured. For balance abilities testing the pressure plate Footscan was used - duration for 30 seconds, four types of stands: stand with eyes opened, with eyes closed, one leg stand od right/left leg with eyes opened. Results: After four-month of Aerobics intervention these results were found out: - The testing group is 1,1 cm higher in average, body weight increased of 1,4 kg in average....
Validation of the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire for children aged 6 -10 years in the Czech Republic
Vlasáková, Nikol ; Čepička, Ladislav (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Hana (referee) ; Mess, Filip (referee)
Problem: A specific developmental disorder of motor function affects up to one in 12 people. Neither the prevalence of DCD nor its diagnosis is completely uniform. According to some authors, even given the difficulty of existing tests and test batteries, a "gold standard" for diagnosing DCD is still being sought that would most effectively diagnose its prevalence. In Canada, a standardized screening method, the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ), has been developed as an auxiliary diagnostic tool to help detect DCD in children. It is an exploratory method that uses a questionnaire technique designed primarily for parents and teachers of children to diagnose the prevalence of this disorder. We believe that by using the DCDQ questionnaire, which according to Schoemaker is a "coarse screen" in identifying children with DCD, we will single out children with DCD and suspected DCD. Studies emphasize the importance of early identification of children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD), not only as a prevention of secondary academic, emotional, and social manifestations of the disorder. The questionnaire allows screening of children with motor difficulties. The DCDQ has not been validated in the Czech Republic and this is the aim of this study so that it can be used for the...
The relationship between verbal intervetion and postural stability
Švátora, Karel ; Čepička, Ladislav (advisor) ; Musálek, Martin (referee) ; Válková, Hana (referee)
Dissertation Karel Svatora ABSTRACT Title: The Relationship between verbal intervention and postural stability Objective: To evaluate whether there is a relationship between verbal intervention and manifestations of postural stability. Methods: In the submitted work, 3 research investigations were carried out. The first investigation involved 185 probands (84 men) and was focused on verifying the effect of psychological priming. The Posturograph STP-03 was used to assess postural stability. Probands were randomly divided into three groups and each received different information about the difficulty of the upcoming task. An electrodermal activity data was recorded during the investigation. The second investigation involved 88 probands (45 men) and was aimed at verifying the effect of persuasive communication. The test of postural stability was to remain in a standing position measured on a 3 cm wide beam. Probands were randomly divided into two groups. The groups received the opposite verbal intervention during the test. 142 probands (83 men) took part in the third investigation. It was aimed at verifying the effect of persuasive communication during more significant stimulation of the current psychological state. The test of postural stability was to remain in a standing position measured on a 3 cm wide...
Diagnostics of the motoric level of children at the age of 8 - 13 by the MABC - 2 test battery
Jahodová, Gabriela ; Dvořáková, Hana (advisor) ; Čepička, Ladislav (referee) ; Suchý, Jiří (referee)
Objective: The aim of this work is to diagnose the motoric level of children at the age of 8 - 13, to verify the feasibility of the field investigations in a group form in the school regime at elementary schools, to compare the percentage of children with a motoric deficit with present information about prevalence, to carry out a comparison of test results with the standardized British norm, and to find out, if the results vary as a function of gender, the demographic indicator of the size of the community where the elementary school is located or as a function of age. Methods: The test battery named Movement Assessment Battery for Children - Second Edition (Henderson et al., 2007) was used. The comparison of the results with the British norm was done according to the method of standardisation study (in Henderson et al., 2007, p. 127 - 130) by the means of effect size, by comparing the performances in particular test items (partial tests), the total score achieved in each of the three motor components observed, and for the total score in the whole battery of eight tests. Determinative relations between the variables (dependent variables: test results, and potentially independent variables: age, gender, place) were detected by three-factor regression analysis of variance - ANOVA. Results and...
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOME KINEMATIC PARAMETERS WITH THE
Swedan, Ziad Saleh Ali ; Perič, Tomáš (advisor) ; Čepička, Ladislav (referee) ; Zvonař, Martin (referee)
The aim of this study was to determine how the performance of the Egyptian high jumpers is depending on the kinematic parameters of a take-off phase. The sample of the study has been selected from competitors of the high jump event - three jumpers representing the Egyptian international athletic team. The researcher has studied the sample using a direct measurement by a synchronized 3D video system to measure the kinematic parameters. The researcher has found a relation between record level and vertical velocity components with improvement in technique and better fitness levels, thus the Egyptian jumpers can achieve further progress in their results. This raises optimism because Omer Samir (A2) is very young and his current record 2.02m gives hope for future World - Class. Key words High jump, kinematic parameters, take-off phase.

Kuprová, Klára ; Suchomel, Aleš (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee) ; Čepička, Ladislav (referee)
The title of the dissertation thesis: Secular trends in physical fitness of school children in the Liberec region The main aim of the project is to identify and analyse secular trends in a physical development and motoric performance for the period 1966 to 2010 for boys and girls at age 11-15 in Liberec region. Representative samples were created by 783 boys and 556 girls in pubescent age. Probands were attending the empirical research that contained: a) seven motoric tests - 50 m run, 300 m run or 500 m run (according to the age), standing broad jump, throwing the 2kg ball, pull-up repeatedly, sit-ups repeatedly, endurance shuttle run; b) measurements of three basic somatic characteristics: measuring height, body weight and subcutaneous fat. Was proved, according to the results of the research an unchanged performance in speed abilities and also in dynamic endurance strength abilities of abdominal muscles and iliopsoas flexors in the pubescent children. Indicators of short-term endurance abilities show negative secular trends in both genders at age 11-15. The results of the standing broad jump, indicator of explosive strength abilities of lower limbs, showed negative secular trends in 11-12 year boys and girls of all age categories. Positive secular trend was seen in explosive strength abilities...
About identification of motor predispositions in triathlon
Kovářová, Lenka ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Čepička, Ladislav (referee) ; Zháněl, Jiří (referee)
Title: About identification of motor predispositions in triathlon Aims: The aim of our study was to find and verify appropriate indicators predicting the on-coming performance in a short triathlon and determine their level for the junior category. Methods: In our study, we combined quantitative and qualitative approaches with a predominance of quantitative methods. In the first phase of the research, we used quantitative methods, confirmatory factor analysis for verification of models of predispositions and elaboration of performance standards for individual tests by means of T-points. In the second part of the research, we used the qualitative method (casuistic studies) to validate the test battery and its application in practice. Results: We have compiled a structural model of motor predispositions for short triathlon, which explained 91% of all cross-correlations of seventeen used indicators. Predispositions for triathlon were categorized into five separate groups; for swimming, cycling and running (i.e. according to individual disciplines), and functional and psychological predispositions. Finding a lower limit boundary of performance in the completed tests is considered to be the most important issue for the assessment of future performance in triathlon. As a lower limit we have set the zone...
