St Sigismund - Bohemian Patron in Medieval Culture

This bachelor thesis deals with the life of Saint Sigismund and his cult in the context of the middle ages culture. Focus will be laid on the legend about the king of Burgundy, St Sigismund, whom Charles IV elevated to the rank of the Bohemian Patrons. His cult will be analyzed in medieval Bohemia and partly in other countries in medieval Europe. Through the interpretation of selected examples of works of art from the medieval period, we will demonstrate St Sigismund's importance and position among the others Saints of Bohemia.
Sacral architecture and agglomeration of medieval town Litoměřice

This diploma thesis aims to approach the royal town Litoměřice in the medieval form, then agglomeration structure and sacral architecture of this town. Litoměřice excels especially in terms of the richness of their heritage fund and by this thesis I would like to commemorate especially disappeared monuments, churches, which were located here. I would like to contain my thesis like a monography of early medieval town Litoměřice with an enumeration of churches, fortification, castle and medieval houses.
Josef Václav Scheybal: a documentalist and a collector

Josef Václav Scheybal : A documentalist and a collector The diploma thesis deals with Josef Václav Scheybal (1928 - 2001) and his activity mainly in northern Bohemia. It attempts to capture all aspects Scheybal's personality, because he was a painter, graphic artist, illustrator, art historian and ethnographer. He was an expert of folk architecture and sculpture, folk furniture, technical equipment, the popular clothing, prints, folk songs, was the creator of multiple exposures. He also cooperated with the Institute of ethnography and folklore, ethnographic research, participated throughout the country, with results published regularly. His focus on folk architecture resulted in a lifetime's research and documentary work. He gathered the valuable work of drawing documents, publications of folk architecture and free of the open air. The thesis also includes his family, the father Josef Scheybal and his wife Jana Scheybalová. Pictures of the All Saint Church on Prague Castle

The subject of bachelor thesis is painted decorations of collegiate church of Panna Marie and church All Saints church at Prague Castle (next only the All Saints Church). The introduction is dedicated to the chapel itself. It is followed by description and art - historical evaluation of the local paintings. This part of work monitors origins of the paintings, it deals with the artists and the buyers, iconography and also adjustments and changes in placement of the paintings. Although we can find there paintings from major domestic and foreign artists of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, namely from Hans von Aachen (1551/52-1615), Charles Dorigny (1534-1551), Václav Vavřinec Reiner (1689-1743) and Kristian Šebastián Dittmann from Lavenstein (1639-1701), these paintings have not been properly evaluated yet. It is the purpose of this work to focus entirely on the painting rather than aiming the architecture and cultural history. First exhibitions of the industrial goods in Bohemia between the years 1754 and 1836

The thesis will focus on the first exhibitions of the industrial goods in Bohemia between the years 1754 and 1836. In every one of the chronologically sorted chapters, including each exhibition, it will focus on themes such as the changeover between manufactures and the industrial production, the role of craftsmen, the role of the emperor and aristocracy supporting the Czech industry, the foundation of Unity for the development of the Bohemian industry. The thesis is also focused on finding the subjects, which were displayed on the first exhibitions.
The form of Karlstejn Castle at the time of Charles IV.

The form of Karlstejn Castle at the time of Charles IV. Diploma thesis "The form of Karlstejn Castle at the time of Charles IV." deals at first with historical reports not only about the foundation of the castle itself but also about additional events during the life of Charles IV. These events are put in context of the construction form of the castle. The main part of this text is focused on the comprehensive description of the building taking into account previous research and construction plans. Then its construction form is compared with other castles founded by Charles IV. In particular castles Kasperk, Radyne, Karlshaus and Lauf an der Pegnitz are studied in detail. Since in general, castles in the 14th century served primarily residential purposes, this thesis also mentions Karlstejn's indoor arrangements and such building components as heating systems, windows, etc.
Dušan Samuel Jurkovič and his architectural design in the southern and the eastern Moravia

The bachelor thesis "Dušan Samuel Jurkovič and his architectural design in the southern and the eastern Moravia region" follows up the life and works of the Slovak architect, furniture designer and ethnographer Dušan Samuel Jurkovič (1868 - 1947). The first part of the thesis is focused on the architect himself, the second part is dedicated to his work in the Moravia region, especially in Luhačovice, Svatý Hostýn and Pustevny in Beskid Mountains. The third part explains the specialties of Jurkovič's distinctive architecture by examining his own villa in Brno-Žabovřesky. This bachelor thesis includes image attachments. Chateau Zákupy under influence of Ferdinand V.

Chateau Zákupy under influence of Ferdinand V This bachelor's thesis focuses on Ferdinand V. and his reign on chateau Zákupy, which is the main subject of my interest and of this work. Because Ferdinand V. had a major importance in the Zákupy region, I dedicated part of this work to his life and reign. Ferdinand V. was the last crowned Czech king and he chose chateau Zákupy as his major summer residence. As the chateau was supposed to represent his person and status properly, it was rebuilt by significant artists and craftsmen of its time. This work is focusing on the original state of the chateau Zákupy, its reconstruction, equipment and decoration.
