Čermáková, Anežka ; Hrešanová, Ema (advisor) ; Marková Volejníčková, Romana (referee)
This thesis deals with research of men, who have experience with abortion of their girlfriends. My research attention was focused on men, who experienced abortion on their own. In Czech Republic almost no researches about men and abortion have been conducted and that is the reason why I started with this research. My research consists of a semi- structured interviews with five men. By analytical process of coding I created eight categories. We expect from men that they will be support for their girlfriends and they also want to act like that and be supportive. Men want take care of their partner. Men's role is to be support in this situation. They are aware of that this problem is mainly about women and that abortion is happening on woman body. But men want to be part of this situation. If they are not, they feel useless. After abortion they usually feel relief or sometimes guilt. But their emotions are varied. Abortion is also important incident for relationship between man and woman. Both usually think about future of the relationship.

Partners role construction in homosexual households
Kotálová, Markéta ; Pospíšilová, Marie (advisor) ; Marková Volejníčková, Romana (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with construction of partner roles in homosexual households. Cohabitation of heterosexual couples is partly determined by social expectations regarding their gender roles based on different sex. We can also find gender by homosexual individuals, but gender roles based on different sex are missing in homosexual couples. The thesis presents an answer to a question how is the gender division involved in allocation of housework and how are the roles divided if not by gender. The first part presents previous knowledge about same-sex relationships and allocation of housework in homosexual couples. Subsequently it introduces - through analysis of semi-structured interviews conducted with seven homosexual couples - strategies and models of division of roles in same-sex households. Some of these strategies produce inequality of powers in the relationship. The research reveals that the gender dimension is rarely present.
Life change after the birth of child
Tomková, Hana ; Marková Volejníčková, Romana (advisor) ; Cuker, Ivan (referee)
The topic I deal with in this thesis is the change in the life of parents after birth. Part of this work is qualitative research. Here I deal with various aspects of life, such as partner life, the division of domestic work, work and finance or leisure activities or social life of new parents, and how they changed or decreased after the birth of a child. In my work, I try to focus on the difference between how men and women perceive this change, even in comparison with gender stereotypes, which are closely related to family organization. In addition, I also try to highlight the topics and changes that the families consider the most important, or areas that, in their opinion, have changed the most. In addition to the restructuring of the family, the respondents mentioned changes such as restrictions on leisure activities, social life (change of friends, etc.) or even a change and adaptation of intimate life. I discuss these and other changes in the work in more detail. Within this work, ten semi-structured interviews were conducted with five respondent families, separately with the father and separately with the mother. Based on an analysis of the semistructured interviews, using coding and previous theoretical preparation, categories were created, which were then interpreted and discussed. The...

Marková Volejníčková, Romana ; Dudová, Radka (advisor) ; Vidovičová, Lucie (referee) ; Nešporová, Olga (referee)
dissertation thesis: Construction of motherhood and feminity in the three generations Author: Mgr. Romana Marková Volejníčková This dissertation aims to analyze the norms of "good" motherhood, discourses, and social practices related to these norms, and their connection and interrelationship with the issue of agency and women's/mothers' free choice under specific conditions over the course of three defined periods. In particular, in this study, I focused on the prevalent conditions (be it legislation, i.e. family and social policies, expert discourses in the field of psychology, demography, pediatrics, etc., but also societal expectations of women within family and employment) during the three defined periods. I analyzed how individual standards of "good" motherhood and "proper" child care are defined and conceived under these circumstances, in which the interviewed mothers carried out their motherhood projects. Furthermore, I focused on what choices mothers could make in these normative conditions, what choices they considered available to them and realistic in each one period, and whether some of the mothers' personal traits may have bolstered or diminished their ability to make informed choices concerning their motherhood project. In the three periods examined, the manifestations of biopower...
