The phenomenon of Medjugorje and its subsequent investigation by church officials in the years 1981-1984

This thesis deals with the Church's investigation of the events in Medjugorje in the years between 1981 - 1984 by the Franciscans of St. James's parish, bishop of Mostar and Duvno Pavao Žanić and the so-called first diocesan commission. Particular attention is paid to " the Herzegovina Case", which makes the historical background to the events in Medjugorje. This thesis also introduces the role of the charismatic movement in Medjugorje events and the social and confessional structure of the pilgrims to Medjugorje in the reference period. The basic proposition of the work is the fact that the phenomenon of Medjugorje is the result of many factors, of which the Cold War can be placed on the second position right after Herzegovina case.
The Response of the Creation of the Independent Irish State in Czechoslovakia

The present work deals with the events of the Irish War of Independence between the Irish nationalists and the British government in the period 1919-1921 and their reflection in contemporary Czechoslovak press. The work also included a chapter devoted each other understanding, followed by contacts, visits and relationship interdependence among citizens of the island and the citizens of the Czech lands. For an idea of how different circles of Czech society they thought about the Irish question is an example display of Czechoslovak newspapers, the extent to which different layers of the Czechoslovak society of events in the British islands informed. Work processes, to what extent the war mentioned in the Czechoslovak press, what information is given to the Czechoslovak reporters, how specific events devoted to printing, if the Czechoslovak nation supported the Irish effort, and whether the reportage reflects a comparison with the events of the Czech struggle for independence. The Little Entente on Pages of the German Press in Czechoslovakia

This bachelor thesis deals with articles about The Little Entente in German press printed in Czechoslovakia. It briefly presents the history of The Little Entente and also Czechoslovakian journalism in 20's and 30's. The topic as such is discussed in the two last chapters. One describes years 1920-1922 and its main resource of information was the Clipping Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It shows what were the crucial topics in which the press was interested concerning The Little Entente. The other charter shows the ways in which three events important for The Little Entente were treated in six chosen German newspapers (Freiheit, Volksrecht, Vorwärts, Reichenberger Zeitung. Deutsche Landpost and Aussiger Tagblatt) of different political orientation. The chosen events are the Treaty of Alliance between Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia (1920), the Treaty of Alliance between Czechoslovakia and Romania (1921) and the Organisation Pact of The Little Entente (1933). There follows also brief analysis of the course of events in Yugoslavia and Romania. The purpose of thesis was to find out whether and how German press in Czechoslovakia informed about The Little Entente. Key words: The Little Entente, Press, Yugoslavia, Romania

This work deals with the Czechoslovak flyers during the Second World War. Work is considered to be a historical-sociological study, the main goal is to compile model of typice Czechoslovak flyer during the second word war. Work is primarily based on documents of VHA and ABS, secondary sources are Czech literature and foreing literature translated into Czech language. Czechoslovak-Romanian relations between 1944-1948

The presented diploma thesis deals with bilateral relations between Czechoslovakia and Romania during first years after the World War II. It is concentrated primarily on research of the political and economical relations. The introduction is followed by the brief summary of tradition of the mutual bilateral cooperation in the framework of Little Entente. Next chapter occupies itself with the negotiations of Romanian exile politicians with the Allies concerning the armistice treaty in which Czechoslovak diplomatic representatives of the exile government in London played a key role. The following part describes and analyses the process of re- establishment of the diplomatic relations between Czechoslovakia and Romania after the war. The chapter presenting the situation of Czechs and Slovaks living in Romania between 1944- 1945 follows after that. Two texts about the contribution of Romanian military troops on the liberation of Czechoslovakian territory and about the post-war re-emigration of Czech and Slovakian compatriots from Romania back to Czechoslovakia represent an essential part of this diploma thesis. Reflection of the Moscow Trials in the Czechoslovak Press

This bachelor thesis inquires into the reflection of the Moscow Trials in the second half of the 1930's in the Czechoslovak press. It charts the political spectrum in light of the most significant political streams in Czechoslovakia in the second half of the 1930's. Beside the qualitative analysis is lesser used quantitative analysis, which reflects the interests of the Czechoslovak press in the Moscow Trials. The thesis insists on the representative choice of partail press that time. The objective of the work is to bring the sum of stances to the Moscow Trials on the pages of Czechoslovak press. The main questions are: how the Trials were preceived, what was criticised, how The Sovie Union and Stalin were preceived against a background of the Trials, which antagonisms were during the Trials in the Czechoslovak society, how the editor's offices stances were changed during the Trials and the most significant interest of the thesis are diferent stances in the Czechoslovak society and political streams. Czechoslovak embassy in Moscow in the years 1945-1948

1 Abstract Adamů Miloš: Czechoslovak Embassy in Moscow in the years 1945-1948 Praha: The Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, 2011 188 s., The diploma thesis. The thesis monitors and evaluates the activities of the Czechoslovak Embassy in Moscow in the critical post-war years 1945-1948. It attempts to process the structure of the diplomatic and partly personnel corps, including changes that gradually occurred in the office. The task of the thesis is also monitoring the influence of inland events on the running of the embassy and its important leaders in those four years. The thesis largely follows the events of February 1948, which meant milestone situations for the Czechoslovak Embassy's activities and significantly influenced the lives of most of its employees. The ambassadors take the important place and they are given a high attention. The thesis also notes the fates of the selected persons in 1948. The period of the emerging identity of Montenegrins against the background of the eastern question

165 ABSTRACT The period between 1848 and 1861 was a time when the identity of Montenegrins started to thrive. However, this thrive was proceeding in connection with the international situation, as the Great Powers of that time cast their eyes upon The Eastern Question as the then problem which, besides enduring friction was also about a collision of different theses that were looking for a solution for both its domestic as well as international policies. This collision finally resulted in the Crimean War, which was the only all-European conflict since The Napoleonic Wars until the World War. Against the background of the events there was a change in ruling in Montenegro. Petr II. Petrović Njegoš, who was the last Vladika, lived in celibacy. His follower Danilo Petrović then succeeded as the prince. In connection with the rise of Principality the central institutions started to be created in Montenegro. This, on one hand, contributed to realization of the common interests, but on the other, these centralizational activities started to rise the tension between the particular Montenegrin tribes and the Prince. Many a time this tension broke out into a conflict which the Prince had to solve by force. In the consequence of these frequent revolts and the rapid centralization, the Prince Danilo I. lost his life....
And the earth was shaking: the reflections of the earthquakes in Skopje (1963) and Banja Luka (1969)

The aim of this work is to capture the key events after the devastating earthquakes in Skopje in 1963 and Banja Luka in 1969. A special emphasis is put on the reaction of the federal authorities, foreign responses and demographic changes in the affected areas. These aspects of the research are part of the broader perspective on the history of Yugoslavia in the 1960s. Both natural disasters also serve as the object of comparison that can prove changes in the attitudes of the Yugoslav administration and the public within a few years.
The Jocism: A Social Movement of the Catholic Church in the First Half of the 20th Century

The work examines formation of the Catholic Church's social teaching from the end of the nineteenth century until the end of the World War II. It pays attention to official documents denoting its realm as well as to the response to the programme within the Belgian milieu. On the example of La jeunesse ouvrière chrétienne the work tries to indentify foundations of the Church's social teaching along with changes, shifts and adaptations that appeared in their unique form in the JOC movement. The work also notices origins, formation and development of JOC itself. This historic and religious topic is set in wider social and cultural context. Latter part of the work is devoted to particularities in the acceptance of Church's social teaching in Czechoslovakia in between the world wars.
