Comparative Analysis of Employment Status under the Laws of England and Wales and under the Laws of the Czech Republic
Cowell, Barbora ; Pichrt, Jan (advisor) ; Morávek, Jakub (referee) ; Matejka, Ján (referee)
1 Comparative Analysis of Employment Status under the Laws of England and Wales and under the Laws of the Czech Republic Mgr. Barbora Cowell Abstract In this dissertation, the author performs the comparative analysis of the laws of England and Wales and the laws of the Czech Republic governing different types of employment status and rights/obligations associated with each type. The author aims to answer the following research question: In what ways could the Czech legal system draw inspiration from the laws of England and Wales governing different types of employment status and rights/obligations associated with each type? The first part of the dissertation summarises recent developments in England and Wales impacting the current as well as future legal rules in this area. The second part deals with the basic categorisation of different types of employment status in both legal systems. The third part analyses the fundamental duties of employees/workers and employers in both legal systems. The fourth part focuses on a selection of rights granted to workers by English employment law and English social security law and compares them to the corresponding rights set out by Czech employment legislation. The fifth part analyses a selection of rights granted to employees by English employment law and compares them...
SWIFT as a Tool Not Only for European Integration
Matejka, Ján ; Schlossberger, Otakar
The paper discusses the importance of The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (hereinafter 'SWIFT') not only for European integration. It partially maps its historical development with emphasis on the importance for mutual communication between financial institutions. At the same time, however, it can be a very suitable means of obtaining a range of information as evidence for criminal proceedings in clarifying financial crime offenses. In their research, the authors deal with various approaches to the processing of data obtained from the SWIFT system, which will be submitted to law enforcement authorities. These documents can then be linked to other information, which in turn will help clarify possible financial crime, especially in cross-border, or foreign overlap. The authors' study is based on the hypothesis that 'SWIFT information can contribute to the clarification / detection of financial crime'.
Influence of Kármán vortices on the body in the air flow
Matějka, Jan ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Skalka, Petr (advisor)
In master thesis there is main model object a 100 m high steel chimney located in the area of paper mill near the town of Świecie in Poland. In the past there was an accident with the failure of this particular construction. There is analyzed an effect of Kármán vortices on deformation – stress response of this chimney. The effect of Kármán vortices on the body in the air flow is considered to be cause of the accident in this case. In master thesis is investigated an opportunity to minimize these effects on body in the air flow (In this case the body is the above mentioned steel chimney). The negative effects termination (like for example minimalization of range of excitation frequencies or minimalization of drag forces acting on the chimney) is carried out by use of aerodynamic protection shell.
Generator of computer descriptions
Matějka, Jan ; Rosa, Rudolf (advisor) ; Dušek, Ondřej (referee)
This thesis deals with the problem of generating coherent and well-formed sentences from structured data. The goal of the thesis is to create a tool which could make generating brief descriptions of electronics based on parameters in the form of structured data easier. The tool can be useful for e.g. e-shops with such electronics. The first part of the thesis introduces possible solutions to this problem. The thesis next describes data needed for solving the problem, including the ways of acquiring such data and structure of the data. Two selected solutions are then described including their implementation. The thesis then examines the advantages and disadvantages of the selected solutions and evaluates texts generated by the created tool.
Optimization of modal properties of the body in the air flow
Matějka, Jan ; Švancara, Pavel (referee) ; Skalka, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with dynamic analysis of the rod body, which is excited by the Karmán vortices. In this thesis a method of countermeasure is also verified, which could be possibly used in order to supress the state of resonance in the body and which could minimalize the influence of the Karmán vortices on the structure. This method consists in change of the mass in specific parts of the body in order to change modal properties of this body. The main goal of the thesis is to find suitable configurations of the mass distribution depending on air flow velocity for purpose of minimalization the influence of the Karmán vortices on the construction. This is achieved by optimization of modal properties. The optimization is based on results of harmonic analysis and is considering possibility of practical use.
Technická a ekonomická komparace automobilu s elektrickým a spalovacím motorem
MATĚJKA, Jan
This master thesis is focused on the comparison of electric drive and drive with an internal combustion engine. The literary overview shows the history and beginnings of the first attempts to create a vehicle with an electric energy. This all goes back to the half of 19th century. In this thesis are also included types of electric engines which are used in drives. Great attention is focused on the several types of accumulators and their charging. The last chapter in the theoretical part is dedicated to the ecological aspect of commission and the production of electric energy which is used to the drive of the electric car. The second, practical, part deals with two levels. Concretely with the technical part where are compared the on-road performance, comfort, noise and functionality of the BMW i3 and Renault Clio. Another economical part which is focused mainly on the operating costs and the affordability of vehicles which were tested.
Legal historical database of national legal heritage
Kober, Jan ; Matejka, Ján
The article introduces a project by the Institute of State and Law attached to the Czech Academy of Sciences called National Legal Heritage, describing the principles and options of using this database when dealing with a legal text.
Contrast-induced acute kidney injury in high risk patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures
Matějka, Jan ; Vojáček, Jan (advisor) ; Gregor, Pavel (referee) ; Červinka, Pavel (referee)
Contrast-induced acute kidney injury in high risk patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures Introduction: Acute renal function impairment associated with radiologic procedures, known as contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI), is strongly associated with a higher rate of morbidity, in-hospital mortality and diminished long-term survival. CI-AKI prevention focuses mainly on adequate periprocedural hydratation and use of a low amount of contrast media. Previous trials concerning use of adenosine antagonist theophylline revealed contradictory results. Goals: Our interventional trial sought to evaluate the effect of theophylline in CI-AKI prevention in well hydrated elderly patients with chronic kidney disease. Our cross-sectional study focused on CI-AKI in patients undergoing primary PCI for ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Methods: Interventional trial: randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was performed. 56 patients with estimated glomerular filtration rate bellow 60 60 ml/min/1.73m2 referred for cardiac coronary angiography and/or angioplasty were enrolled. 31 of them were randomly assigned to 200 mg theophylline IV before procedure, and 25 to placebo. Iso- osmolar contrast Iodixanol was used. Trial protocol included mandatory parenteral hydration. The...
Working Time and Rest Periods Guidelines
Štefko, Martin ; Matejka, Ján ; Feigerlová, Monika ; Pichrt, J.
The Guidelines deal with issues pertaining to the working hours and rest periods, summing up all relevant data and applying them to the topic at hand. The guidelines are aimed at increasing the efficiency of education and training of Labour Inspection State Office (SUIP) inspectors and regional inspection offices (OIP), and at providing assistance in the execution of their control-related activities.
