Influence of thyreoideal functional disorder to parameters of muscle mass and density of bone minerals

Title: The effects of thyroid gland functional disorders upon muscular mass parameters and bone mineral density (BMD). Purpose: The purpose of the research has been to monitor alterations in muscular strength, in muscular and adipose tissue parameters established by densitometry, bone mineral density, and blood parameters of thyroidal functions from thyroid gland functional disorder diagnosis to expected full functional compensation upon completion of 12- month monitoring. Method: The examined set consisted of two groups of female patients treated during the period of 2005-2007 in the outpatient endocrinology ward of DC MEDISCAN-Euromedic for thyroid dysfunction. The major research method has been densitometry (establishing the parameters of density of bones and soft tissues by bone densitometer), and a measurement ofmuscular strength using a device. Results: Our research has confirmed that the compensation of thyroid gland hyperfunction is associated \\-ith a relatively rapid increase in body weight in the female patients. In female patients with thyreotoxicosis, effective treatment is associated with a significant increase in muscular strength. Legislation on the education of the children with specific needs and of gifted and talented children

Title: Legislation on education of children with specific needs and of gifted and talented children. Goals: Analysis of legislative trends in education of individuals out of population standards. The research is therefore focused both on children with specific needs and gifted and talented children. Method: There was used a historical-comparative method comparing single legal documents (laws, public notices, statutory orders, guidelines etc.) relating to the integration of children with specific educational needs and highly talented children into the educational process. The data were gathered during library visits, through internet, the ASPI database and single research of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Prague City Hall. The analysis respected the aspects of time, quality and quantity. Findings: From the described legal documents running through the history, there emerges greater tendency of integration of the children with specific needs into the society. This tendency is noticeable even from the gradual making and improving legal conditions for educating people with all sorts of handicaps. Metabolic syndrome in children and youth

Title of work: Metabolic syndrom in children and adolescents Aims: Analyze effect of 4week's reducing stay with monitoring changes in bodily structure, per cent of fat, anthropometric parameters and pertinent detectors of metabolic syndrome. Method: It is a qualitative research in which the intra-group method of experiment was used. There were observed anthropometric, bloody and circulatory parameters, which were affected by the managed intervention. There was used a method of managed interview for acquirement the anamnesis. The own evaluation was based on differences between input and output kinesiology analysis. The results were processed in Microsoft Office Excel 2007. Results: The first hypothesis was confirmed. All of the observed children reduced their body weight considerably dure to regime in the sanatorium. The second hypothesis was also confirmed, all the perimeters were downsize to regime in the sanatorium. The third hypothesis was not confirmed, the severally compounds of metabolic syndrome was not affected by the treatment in the sanatorium. Effects of Carnitine on Regeneration after Exercise of Healthy People and Patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease

Souhrn V této práci studujeme účinky exogenně podávaného karnitinu na metabolismus svalo- vých buněk u zdravých jedinců a za podmínek ischemické choroby dolních končetin. Karnitin je díky svému hlavnímu účinku, kterým je transport mastných kyselin s dlouhým řetězcem přes membrány mitochondrie, komerčně úspěšná látka. Suplemen- tací této látky je potenciální možnost ovlivnit metabolismus tuků i cukrů, případně zrychlit regeneraci po tělesné zátěži, avšak chybí jednoznačné důkazy. Ovlivnění meta- bolismus sportovců nebo obézních jedinců často ztroskotává na neúspěchu transportu této látky do svalových buňek. Lepší efekt suplementu prezentují studie, kde se karnitin podává osobám s ischemickou chorobou dolních končetin (ICHDK) nebo s poškozením svalů zapříčiněné intenzivní tělesnou zátěží. Abstract t· In this thesis we study effect of exogenous aplication of camitine on muscle cells's me- tabolism in healthy subjects and in conditions of peripheral arterial disease. Application of Kickbiking for Visually Impaired People

Title: An application of kickbiking for vizual impaired people Aim: Development of method of training and guiding for vizual impaired people kickbiking. Practical demonstration of this method by author. Method: During the collection of materials for the first approach toward the problem an exploratory method for kickbiking and comparative method to vizual impaired people training were used. Data were obtained primarily from both printed and digital sources. Further information were collected from personal conversation and well aimed questions. The demonstration was performed by two people (visual impaired plus guide) and the most important moments were video recorded. Results The training and guiding method was developed using theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the fields of athletics, skiing, cycling and another activities for visual impaired people. It was modified on the basis of the experience acquired from kickbiking. The final version of this method was demonstrated by a visual impaired of category B2 and a guide and the most important results are discussed. Název: Sledge hokej Sledge hockey Cíle práce: Cílem diplomové práce je shromáždit informace o sledge hokeji a jeho vliv na tělesně postižené sportovce. Zaznamenat historii, pravidla a nastínit sledge hokej v České republice. Dále se zaměřit na jeden kolínský tým a popsat jednu hokejovou sezónu. Na závěr je vyhodnocen dotazník kvality života (SQUALA). Dotazník je zaměřen na hodnocení spokojenosti a důležitosti určitým oblastem života. Metoda: Prvním nástrojem výzkumu je pozorování. Jedná se o reduktivní deskripci. Systematicky jsem sledovala určité jevy daného tématu. Pozorovala jsem: tréninky- taktiku hry, jízdu na sledgy. Úspěšnost pozorování je závislá na stupni informovanosti o sledované problematice. Samotná metoda je přímé pozorování. Pozorováním jsem dospěla objektivnímu popisu jevu umožňujícím následnou analýzu. Druhým nástrojem výzkumu byl průzkum formou dotazníku SQUALA CZ, jeho zpracování a vyhodnocení. Výhody dotazníku je úspora času a finančních prostředků a data lze lépe kvantifikovat. Výsledky: Podařilo se shromáždit historii a pravidla sledge hokeje. Zaznamenala jsem roční tréninkový cyklus kolínského týmu a zjistila jeho nedostatky. V hodnocení kvality života dosáhli sportovci dle dotazníku SQUALA CZ skóru 253,5. S porovnáním s dizertační prací Čichoně, 2005 má sledge hokej...

Sport and Physical Activities in Quadriplegic Patients as a Complement to Physiotherapy

Title: Sports and physical activities m patient with quadriplegia as a complement of physiotherapy. The aims of the work: The aim of the work was to show training effect on physiological capacity of man with quadriplegia by spirometry, ergometry and motoric tests and by the Spínal Cord Independent Measure (SCIM) and interview to sum up how the physical capacity changes influence the psychical condition and daily life activities managing. The other aim was to make some guide for people with the sirnilar dificulties and to show them how could improve their abilities with the help of sport. Methods: The work has character of case study. We realized three exarninations of ergometry, antropometric parameters, spirometry, motoric tests and observed the changes during one year. Patient filled up the SCIM at the begining and in the end of monitored year and was interviewed because of himself subjective level rating in the end. Results: After four months of training (the first exarnination) all measured physiological factors on ergometry got better. Spirometry was also quiet better. There was no evident changes in motoric tests. In the end of observing, after one year, majority of physiological factors was lower than after four months, but almost all of them achieved higher level than at the begining....

The Effect of Exercise Activity in Post-traumatic Conditions of Vertebral Column and Spinal Cord.

Názcv: Vliv pohybové činnosti u poúrazových stavů páteře a míchy. The effect of the exercise activity up on the cases ofinjury of the vertebral column and the spinal cord. Cíl práce: Cíl práce je posoudit, do jaké míry lze na podkladě pohybových aktivit ovlivnit svalový a nervový aparát u pacientťt v ranné fázi po úraze. Zhodnotit výsledky. Metoda: Testování bylo provedeno na 6ti pacientech. Soubor tvoří 4 paraplegici a 2 tetraplegici. Vyšetřovaní jedinci podstoupili testování na začátku terapie, po týdnu a po měsíci. U pacientky číslo 1 byla hospitalizace delší než u ostatních pacientů, proto uvedu výsledky testování získané za období 3 měsícťt. K získání dat bylo využito testování pomocí funkčního svalového testu dle Jandy. Výsledky: U všech pacientů došlo ke zlepšení svalové síly. Pět pacientťt ze souboru mělo přidružené diagnózy, dva ze souboru komplikace, které zpomalily nebo komplikovaly pruběh terapie. Jen u jedné pacientky nedošlo ke zlepšení čití.
