Space where we will be alone together
Jiříčková, Adéla ; Čech, Viktor (advisor) ; Daniel, Ladislav (referee)
Passing and meeting or looking for a shared space where we could be together or where we could be alone together. Is it possible, for a short moment at least, to step into the other one's world? Finding yourself along with finding the other one. Will we be able to recognize the boundary, once we cross it? This work should focus on a) exploring the space, b) exploring the space within us, and c) on a conflict, touch, on two spaces getting closer and getting further away (both on a physical and psychological level) - private space and public space, whose boundaries are blurring nowadays. These topics are applied on art as well (particularly on the works of performance art) and accounted for the outcomes in its own creative work. Baroque liturgical textiles in the collections of the Episcopal Diocese of České Budějovice
Vácha, Jiří ; Royt, Jan (advisor) ; Daniel, Ladislav (referee) ; Martinek, Radek (referee)
v anglickém jazyce The book presents an array of woven patterned fabrics from church treasuries in the territory of the Diocese of České Budějovice. The examples provided originate in the period spanning from the 16th to the 18th century, and they represent only a small selection of the surviving collections. The focal point consists of a magnificent collection of textiles from the 18th century, documenting the development of the individual historical spheres of decors overlapping into corresponding variants of design. The variability of patterns pertaining to this century is unusually high, and it combines a large number of sources of inspiration with roots in exotic overseas countries. The catalogue entries are furnished with brief technological analyses that offer an insight into the textile production of the respective periods and, at the same time, they provide researchers with a deeper understanding of the individual fabrics on display. Although the area of the Diocese of České Budějovice to a certain degree exceeds the boundaries of the Region of South Bohemia, the collections examined were, in their majority, imported from western European countries manufacturing weaving products of world renown. The catalogue outlines the historically significant import of luxury goods reflecting a variety...
Art by all senses
Charvát, Jan ; Uhl Skřivanová, Věra (advisor) ; Daniel, Ladislav (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the use of our senses in art education. The theoretical part of the thesis clarifies concepts of "pedagogical constructivism, personality approach in the teaching of art education, creation as self-knowledge, sensory education", opens the question of experience as a starting point for art activities for contemporary pupils at the time of digital technologies. Our senses that come out of us are inseparable and ubiquitous, therefore they interfer with the various other components of our lives. So that's why the work tried to cover the senses to a wider extent of our conduct. Sometimes the theoretical part ranged from the chosen trajectory, but it was only because of the strong feelings of necessity to think about the question of human culture or at least to mention the anchoring of our education in history. This section also focuses on the psychological side of sensory sensitivity education. The five elaborated tasks in the didactic part bring a look into art lessons which characteristic features are experience, imagination, free decision and easiness, which originates from true sincerity and truthfulness towards oneself. The main inspirational component is sensory sensitivity. At the conclusion of the didactic part there is a summary of all reflective dialogues and...
German conception of artistic education in theory and practice
Kroutil, Jan ; Uhl Skřivanová, Věra (advisor) ; Daniel, Ladislav (referee)
This diploma thesis seeks above all to introduce the German concept of artistic education into the context of the Czech art education and to compare it with some of the didactical tendencies within this field. Based on the analysis of German and English publications, firstly the pivotal theoretical influences of the concept are introduced, and then its specifics, educational methods and goals are described. The theoretical section is concluded by examples of practical approaches using the described concept in the field of German school praxis. The empirical-practical section, that is based on the author's personal experiences gained during Erasmus studies in Germany (Karlsruhe, University of Education, Institute of Art), introduces how the concept is being applied during the training of university students, in particular on the level of the artistic and pedagogical praxis. This section also contains a reflection of the concept of artistic education's influence on the author's own artistic work. The second section concludes by analysing two student projects in a German school, applying the methods of artistic education, and outlines how these projects could be improved. At the end of the thesis the results of the theoretical, empirical and practical sections are summarized and evaluated. Questions...
Contemporary illustration, bases, principles and their application in art education
Janitorová, Magdaléna ; Raudenský, Martin (advisor) ; Daniel, Ladislav (referee)
My thesis investigates contemporary illustrative art and tendencies occurring in the work of the youngest generation of the Czech illustrators. My objective is to bring an overview of the current forms, shapes, applications and overall state of the contemporary Czech illustration scene. The paper divides the illustration art into four categories, that are then more closely examined in individual chapters. My major focus is on the book illustration in all its current forms. This thesis contains regulatory principles that govern the standard of published illustrated materials through various recognised competitions and awards. I mention different associations and clubs that are currently active in the field of developing contemporary illustration. This occurs not only through grouping of illustrators but also through organising different events and festivals. In the didactic part this paper deals with the role of illustration in child development, specifically its natural artistic expression. This part also includes proposals of teaching materials and curriculum focused on illustration where I introduce my own designs. This appendix follows the above structure and constitutes my own project delivering authorship of visualised illustrations.

Majerová, Sandra ; Velíšek, Martin (advisor) ; Daniel, Ladislav (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with a concept of a word and a picture, it compares these two terms, identifies the differences and describes their mutual relationship. It charts those two terms as means of communication and as bearers of meaning. It also describes different ways to combine them in art - it explores presence of a word in paintings in both historical and contemporary art. Didactic part of the thesis is focused on a use of text in art and its meaning. It contains an art project which aims to transfer a text into a picture - to translate a literature into language of art. The project resulted in a series of staged photographic self-portraits representing personal reflection of a topic presented in a literature. Practical part reflects examined relationship of the word and the picture. It refers to the results of the theoretical part and describes author's personal standpoint. Author refers to different ways of connection of the text and fine art and updates them. Author tries to portray a word as a picture which becomes either paradox or harmony.
