Media education - incorporation into language education and teaching materials for teachers of English
Oršošová, Lenka ; Syřiště, Ivo (advisor) ; Hanková, Zdeňka (referee)
Messages delivered by the media are often used as a source of authentic texts in language teaching, yet there is not a sufficient amount of works dealing with the connection between media education and language teaching. The theoretical part of this thesis, therefore, tries to describe this relationship from the perspective of media studies, linguistics and language teaching methodology. The aim of this work is to create teaching materials incorporating media education into teaching English as a foreign language. The materials consist of worksheets for students and methodological support for teachers. Key words media education, language teaching, authentic text, context, curricular documents, teaching materials, worksheets, methodological support
Foster care
Zimová, Markéta ; Prokop, Jiří (advisor) ; Syřiště, Ivo (referee)
This rigorous work is engaged in the issues of national and foreign substitute family care, its systems, structure and specifics. The first part consists of historical insights about the development of substitute family care both in our country and abroad and deals with its individual forms, whereas the biggest space is devoted to two fundamental forms of substitute family care - adoption and foster care. Individual chapters enable deeper understanding of partial problems and aspects of individual care systems, e.g. homosexual couples as parents, illegal practices related to adoption, etc. Individual chapters of the second part delve into individual systems and forms of substitute family care abroad, introduce particular examples of good practice and deal with specific approaches in selected countries of Europe and overseas. Information presented in this rigorous work, by means of comparing the current state of this care in countries with different traditions and historical experience, should contribute to more complex and integrated view of problems of substitute family care in the system of organisation and execution of their individual forms in the Czech Republic

Abstract This rigorous work focuses on the problem of non-verbal communication. The attention is aimed at two levels of reality- theoretical and experimental. These two are compared in this work. In the particular chapters of theoretical part main conceptions are defined and particular forms of this communication are introduced with references to art styles, where these means occured. In the experimental part is by means of concept analysis the importance and purpose of using non-verbal communication shown within art lessons. This thesis is entitled "Contact Separation, an Experimental Form of Institutional Social Care." The aim of this thesis is to provide a deeper insight into institutional care and to introduce an innovative approach as a possible form of social care in relation to institutions dedicated to institutional social care. The thesis is divided into two sections - theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the concept of institutional social care in the Czech Republic and represents a system of practices in a particular youth educational institute in Prague 9. The practical part is designed as a qualitative research investigation, on basis of which I am trying to answer the question whether this innovative form of care benefits the children that are on the run for a long time. In the thesis conclusion I am examining the results of the investigation and their use in present-day practice.
