The Role of Religious Law in the Legal system of the State of Israel The Agunah

The present M.A. thesis deals with the role of Jewish religious law in the legal system of the State of Israel. The aim of this work is to describe unique nature of Israeli legal system due to the incorporation of Jewish religious law. The thesis focuses at the marital and divorce law. This legal branch was the most influenced by Jewish religious. The case of agunot, litteraly chained women, was chosen as an example of the application of Jewish religious law in the legal system of a modern country. Agunah is a woman who is not permitted to remarry because she has not been given a divorce list nor she is widowed. The problem of agunot is rather ancient and Jewish scholars have tried to find a solution for many centuries. However, nowadays when society calls for an equality between genders and for standard human rights, this issue is even more pressing than ever before. Hardly is a woman accorded right to human dignity if her husband can keep her at his own mercy. At the absence of systemic legal tool, the whole community, including the Orthodox rabbis, should be willing to exert moral pressure such as banning lenient men from synagogue offices and honors to help women to be released from their marriage. Jiří Mordechai Langer's works

This thesis introduces Jiří Mordechai Langer, who was Czech Jewish author. Through the data of his biography describes his mental focus and some of the aspects of his works, which is inspired by it. The thesis is focused on his first book of poetry Piyutim ve-shire Yedidut, which is written in Hebrew and was published in Prague in 1929. The thesis contents translation of poetry into Czech language, description of language and form. The author describes also main topics of Langer's poetry and its place among other works by Jiří M. Langer and in tradition of Hebrew literature. Influence of Hebrew literature and Hasidism, which she finds out in the book, shows for better understanding on concrete passages. Asymptotic properties of the C-metric

Asymptotic properties of the C-metric are analyzed, using a method developed in work of Tafel and coworkers[1],[2],[3]. By nding an appropriate conformal factor , it allows the investigation of the asymptotic properties of a given asymptotically at spacetime. The news function and the Bondi mass aspect are computed and their general properties are analyzed, as well as the small mass, small acceleration, small and large Bondi time limits.

The influence of Masechet Taanit on the halachic codification of liturgy

Jádro mé práce spočívá v analytickém pohledu na problematiku vývoje kodifikace textu siduru (modlitební knihy). Rozebírám text prvních dvou kapitol mišnaického traktátu Taanit. Na místech, kde vznikají otázky, kterým směrem se vyvinula židovská liturgie, se práce obrací na rabínské zdroje. Následně se má práce zaměřuje na srovnání středověkých a moderních halachických autorit. Tento postup je završen porovnáním vybraných sidurů a machzorů (svátečních modlitebních knih), popisem současné praxe a dokázáním vlivu traktátu Taanit na tuto praxi. Má práce si klade za cíl poukázat na složitost vývoje kodifikace liturgie obsažené v siduru. V první části své práce jsem ukázala rozdíl mezi sefardskou1 a aškenázskou2 halachou (židovským právem). Ukázala jsem, že se vyvinuly dvě paralelní praxe, které až do dnešních dnů existují vedle sebe. V druhé části jsem se naopak zabývala halachickou diskuzí, vyplývající z mnou probíraného traktátu, která již nemá vliv na současné uspořádání liturgie. Následně jsem se snažila dohledat, co tuto původní praxi, popsanou v traktátu Taanit, nahradilo.

Childhood in the Middle Ages

Title: Childhood in the Middle Ages keywords: marriage family childhood differences between female and male children education This thesis aims to describe the life of children in the Middle Ages. Due to the woman's inferior social status, female children had a more difficult position than males. This is then reflected in access to education. While young men went to university, young women stayed at home and learnt all they would later need in their married lives. Nevertheless, differences in individual families' approach to children must not be overlooked. Royal offspring would be used to further the interests of their fathers; their childhood was therefore virtually non-existent. Children from poorer families would have to take part in their parents' labours and how much time they were able devote to children's games still remains a big unknown. Some contemporary sources mention children's games and archaeological excavations prove the existence of children's toys. However, children were generally viewed as small adults and parents would wish their small children to grow up into independent adults as soon as possible. Mishna - Tosefta - Bavli. Genre characteristics of the documents of rabbinic literature of formative period

V úvodních kapitolách představujeme tři z klíčových dokumentů formativního období: Mišnu, Toseftu a Bavli. Poprvé v českém prostředí jsou tyto texty pojednány dokumentární metodou, jejímž cílem je stanovení vůdčích rysů charakterizujících daný dokument. Průběžně jsou studované dokumenty v jednotlivých aspektech srovnávány s jinými dokumenty formativního období (Mišna se Sifrou, Tosefta s Bavli atd.). Není tedy účelem této práce pojednat rabínskou literaturu jako takovou a ani jednotlivé její dokumenty vyčerpávajícím, encyklopedickým způsobem. Naší úlohou bude vytyčit hranice každého z žánrů a žánr definovat poukazem na jeho určující znaky. Comparison of Business Intelligence implementation using open source solutions for middle size companies

The main goal of master thesis is to analyze and propose possible low cost Business Intelligence solution with open source technologies and comparison of available tools for implementation in middle size company. We compare Pentaho and Jaspersoft tools implemented on local hardware and cloud environment with Microsoft Azure services. The theoretical part focuses mainly on understanding the business intelligence and its architecture, because architecture is an important part of the work. Actual tools are designed as stand alone modules for specific activities in the business intelligence lifecycle. Low cost tools are often connected with open source technologies and cloud computing. This part of the work contains explanation of these terms and their advantages and disadvantages for our chosen target group of companies. The analytical part includes defined parameters by which it is conducted analysis of tools and their comparison. Business Intelligence solutions are divided according to arcitectural layers. The evaluation criteria are divided into financial, technical and user category. In conclusion, chosen tools are compared and evaluated. The main contribution of this thesis is comparison of open source business intelligence tools for implementation in middle size company. According to the EU directive, middle size company does not exceed 250 employees or profit is less than 50 million euros. The reader can compare the different solutions and their pitfalls or shortcomings that could be critical for the implementation.

Internet start-up projects and their risks

The goal of this thesis is to analyse the field of the Internet startups and to find out what trends and risks are associated with their development and launching. The first chapter of this thesis summarizes the main changes in recent years and the methodologies that are the most often used in developing of startups. The work also reflects a problem connected with financing, such as investor interest in emerging projects. Then there is explained how startup investing works and what opportunities there are for investors to finance internet projects these days. The second chapter focuses on the internet startup Postuj.cz, on mistakes made during its implementation and risks that affected its starting up. The thesis includes an explanation of basic concepts in order to provide an insight into the current situation and an inspiration for starting similar projects. The main contribution of this paper is the analysis of the risks that the founder must consider in the early stages of starting his business, how to start your own startup, what might be important in the development and what less. For those interested in starting their own startup, there are presented several ways, that can help them to increase the chances of success.
