Effective speech therapy counseling in the treatment of developmental dysphasia and its use across disciplines

The master thesis deals with alternative and augmentative communication for adults with combined disabilities. It defines the theoretical foundations of disability, more specifically combined disability. It also describes the communication of people with combined disabilities and explains concepts such as communication, impaired communication skills or speech therapy intervention for people with combined disabilities. Its disadvantages relate more to alternative and augmentative communication, in which it describes in more detail the methods and systems, diagnostic aspects, training of use or its advantages and benefits. The main purpose of this work is to describe the use of alternative and augmentative communication in the everyday life of adults with combined disabilities, especially in everyday activities and also in the possibility of expressing their needs and feelings. The research survey took place in two phases, in the first phase case studies of adults with combined disabilities were prepared and in the second phase participatory observation and direct work with individual persons was carried out. At the end of the work, the benefits of alternative and augmentative communication in adults with combined disabilities are characterized.
The Specifics of Speech Development in Premature Infants

The diploma thesis deals with the problems in clinical speech therapy and is entitled Specifics in the speech development of premature infants. The theoretical and practical findings are included in the thesis. The theoretical part is devoted to premature birth, risks associated with premature birth and care of premature individuals. It also describes multiple pregnancy, twin pregnancy and twins in terms of their development, education and specific forms of communication. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with child development, speech development and communication disorders. In the practical part, the empirical part, the research methods of the qualitative investigation and its focus are described in detail. The main aim of the thesis and sub-objectives are given. The thesis concludes with a summary of the data collected, which was used to develop a grounded theory. Development of children's communication skills with different Mother Tongues in pre-school education

This bachelor thesis focuses on analyzing methods of speech development skills of kids with different mother languages in preschool education. Main goal of this thesis is to get knowledge applicable in work with kids with different mother language and in developing their communication skills. Theoretical part is based on information from proffesional literature, current legislation and electronic information sources which desrcibe definitions of terms communication, speech and language, ontogenesis of child's speech till preschool age and specifics of bilingual child's speech development. In this thesis is also a describtion of Czech preschool education system and it is focused on a group of kids with different mother languages. The empiric part is processed in the form of qualitative research. The case study desrcibes development of communication skills of three kids with different mother language and the methods that are used.
Speech therapy and intervention of adults with cerebral palsy

This Bachelor thesis is focused on the speech therapy among individuals with cerebral palsy and the social aspects of communicative disorders within this group of people. The thesis consists of a theoretical part, divided into two chapters and an empirical part. The first chapter focuses on the diagnosis of cerebral palsy, including its causes, classification and the most common associated disorders. The second chapter focuses on the communicative disability as one of a frequently associated disorders with cerebral palsy. The empirical part of this thesis, which is the focus of the third chapter, consists of the case studies of four respondents with cerebral palsy. Each of these respondents live an independent adult life and in the past they participated in the speech therapy because of their communicative disability. The research had a qualitative character, specifically, methods of observation, structured interview and case studies were used. The main goal of this thesis was an analysis of the way speech therapy is executed among people with cerebral palsy. Development of communication ability in children with Down syndrome

The bachelor's thesis, Development of communication ability in children with Down syndrome, is a work of special educational nature aiming to acquaint readers with the issue of communication in children with Down syndrome. The theoretical part is based on Czech and foreign literature analysis and information found in electronic sources. It is divided into two chapters. The first chapter is dealing with communication in general and the development of speech and language skills in intact children. The second one is devoted to Down syndrome, the author is dealing with its definition terminology and etiology. It also elaborates on impaired communication skills of children with Down syndrome, speech therapy intervention and alternative and augmentative communication. The empirical part of this bachelor thesis is included in the third chapter. The main goal of the research is to analyze the development of communication ability in children with Down syndrome, partial goals and research questions have been set based on that. Speech therapy intervention and the profession of speech therapist from the perspective of parents

The diploma thesis deals with the parents' view of the process of speech therapy intervention and the profession of speech therapist. The work is divided into the theoretical part and the practical part. The introductory chapter describes the individual parts of the speech therapy intervention process, namely speech therapy diagnostics, therapy and prevention. The second chapter deals with departments where it is possible to meet speech therapists. The following chapter deals in detail with the competencies of individual speech therapy professions and also their necessary professional training. The fourth and last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the parents of children with speech desorder. Their role and participation in the process of speech therapy intervention are described. Subsequently, this issue is also described in the context of the implementation of distance therapies during the Covid-19 pandemic. Motor Skills of Children with Communication Disabilities in Preschool Age

The topic of the diploma thesis is motor skills of children with communication disabilities in preschool age. The thesis includes theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part deals mainly with psychomotor development of the child from birth to preschool age. The thesis also deals with speech development of the child and stages of speech ontogenesis. Third chapter is dediated to communication disability with a focus on diagnosis deleyed speech, development, dyslalia and development dysphasia. In the end there are mentioned and described the most often used diagnostic materials, detecting level of motor skills in preschool age. The main aim of the empirical part is to find out the level of motor skills of children with communication disabilities in preschool age. The main method of quantitative research is the set of tasks to diagnose the level of motor skills. The results of 15 participating probands are then compared with an equally large control group of children without communication disabilites. The said research is supplemented by survey that is focused on psychomotor development of child.
