Propulsion unit of competition model airplane
Vančo, Miroslav ; Matějů, Jiří (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the design and validation of the operation of the model propulsion system, according to the Aero Design East rules. The introduction is focused on rules and regulations of the competition and then, the point analysis is carried out. The research section is devoted to an overview of the propulsion system components and their basic parameters. The most appropriate configurations of the propulsion system are selected, based on calculations from the manufacturer´s datasheet. These configurations are then validated by measurements of static thrust and measurements in aerodynamic tunnel. In these measurements, the responses of the limiter for boundary power are also examined. In the last part, the choice of the propulsion system is completed.
Analysis of rear wing elements for Formula student
Kaspar, Štěpán ; Hájek, Tomáš (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
Main objective of this bachelor thesis is to perform analysis of rear wing of the Formula student car and based on these information create design of new wing. The beginning of the thesis deals with Formula student competition rules, usage of rear wing in motorsport with main aim within this competition. Analysis and following optimization based on response surface methodology using CFD simulations in Ansys Fluent software, for which was performed calibration of computational model and mesh independence study.
Conceptual design of competition model airplane
Pospíšil, Jakub ; Vaněk, František (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the conceptual design of a competition model of an aircraft for an international student competition. The introduction deals with the rules of the competition and their subsequent analysis. The research part deals with a possible concept of the aircraft from the point of view of various configurations of individual parts of the model. In the practical part, the characteristics of individual parts of the aircraft are processed and a mass analysis is performed.
Association between metabolic factors and structural brain changes in psychoses
Kolenič, Marián ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (referee) ; Masopust, Jiří (referee)
Background: Schizophrenia (SZ) and bipolar disorders (BD) are often correctly diagnosed only years after the initial manifestations. Brain imaging may provide support for early differential diagnosis, but is complicated by marked heterogeneity of results between studies. Obesity, dyslipidemia and insulin resistance (IR) are frequent in psychiatric disorders and may contribute to brain alterations/heterogeneity. We studied BD and SZ in different stages of illness and specifically investigated the effects of metabolic parameters on brain structure and function. Methods: In Study 1 we used machine learning algorithm to estimate the individual brain age from MRI scans of 120 participants with first episode schizophrenia (FES) and 114 controls. We calculated the brain age gap (BrainAGE) score by subtracting the chronological age from the brain age. We also performed voxel-based morphometry (VBM) study to localize obesity or psychosis related pathology. In Study 2, we acquired biochemical and cognitive measures from 100 euthymic BD patients and explored the association between IR and memory. In Study 3, we explored differences in BrainAGE in early stages of SZ (43 participants) or BD (96 offspring of BD parents) and healthy controls (HC). In Study 4, we performed MRI cerebellar volume analyses on 648...
Fusalage and Tail of Competition Model Airplane
Kminiaková, Tatiana ; Hájek, Tomáš (referee) ; Janhuba, Luboš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with empennage and fuselage design of new aircraft for design competition SAE Aero Design East 2020. The introduction is focused on regulations of this competiton and their subsequent analysis. The research part of the thesis takes in consideration possible configurations of the empennage and fuselage and their basic parameters. The most suitable configurations are compared and basic stability and load calculations are done. In the last part structural design is completed.

Design of competition model fuselage
Bednář, Peter ; Löffelmann, František (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of the fuselage of the competing model aircraft. The introduction describes the student team, Chicken Wings, and also explains the upcoming Air Cargo Challenge 2019. Furthermore, the search section lists the individual types of materials and carbon composite manufacturing technologies. The second part of the thesis deals with the individual phases of the aircraft design and the definition of fuselage. Moreover, the practical part of the thesis begins with a statistical overview of mass-produced models F3B and F5J categories and the subsequent design of the individual parts of the fuselage and the mass analysis of the model. The conclusion justifies the choice of individual parameters.

Improving the diagnosis of first-episode schizophrenia from magnetic resonance imaging using machine learning
Mikoláš, Pavol ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Syka, Josef (referee) ; Hájek, Milan (referee)
Background: Early diagnosis of schizophrenia could improve the outcomes and limit the negative effects of untreated illness. Although participants with schizophrenia show structural/functional alterations on the group level, these findings have a limited diagnostic utility. Novel methods of MRI analyses, such as machine learning (ML), may help bring neuroimaging from bench to the bedside. Here, we used ML to differentiate participants with a first episode of schizophrenia-spectrum disorder (FES) from healthy controls (HC) based on neuroimaging data and compared the diagnostic utility of such approach with the utility of between group comparisons using classical statistical methods. Method: Firstly, we performed a classical fMRI experiment in FES using a self/other- agency task (SA/OA) and compared FES (N=35) versus controls (N=35) using conventional statistics. We than classified FES and healthy controls (HC) using linear kernel support vector machine (SVM) from the resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) and fractional anisotropy (FA) in 63/63 and 77/77 age- and sex-matched FES and HC participants. We also investigated the between-group differences in rsFC and FA using classical between-group comparisons. Results: FES group exhibited a decreased activation during the emergent SA experience...
