The idea of a Film Chamber. The Bohemian-Moravian Film Union and continuity of centralizing tendencies in the film industry in the 1930s and 1940
Czesany Dvořáková, Tereza ; Klimeš, Ivan (advisor) ; Just, Vladimír (referee) ; Szczepanik, Petr (referee)
The key theme of this thesis is the development of the film-industry self-regulation during the years immediately preceding the occupation of the Czech Lands by Nazi Germany and the period of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Already in the First Republic (1918- 1939), the association structures were characterized by highly hierarchical relations and encompassed all areas - film production, film distribution and the cinema system. The predominant role was played by film industry associations and the largest unions of film workers. These organizations pressed for the solution of the protracted legislative deficits which complicated the day-to-day operation of the film industry. Starting in the second half of the 1930s, the essential aims of the activities of the film self-regulation included the foundation of a Film Chamber as the central body of Czech cinematography. The guarantor of the future public corporation, and possibly its financier, was to be the government. The views regarding the form of this institution were also influenced by foreign models, including the corporate structures of the Third Reich cinematography. As the authorities were taking their time to act, while the political situation was quickly changing, the film industry associations provisionally centralized their...

Postwar purge of czech cinematography in 1945-1946.
Černá, Zuzana ; Klimeš, Ivan (advisor) ; Czesany Dvořáková, Tereza (referee)
This thesis concerns the process of Postwar purge, a purge which was being carried out by the Disciplinary Board of the Union of Czech film workers, in film industry after the Second World War. Even before establishing the Retribution Decrees, revolutionary denazification commissions came into being in many areas of public life. These commissions tried workers co-operating with invaders with absolutely no legal basis. The film industry, a kind of mass media which was on the front burner, also underwent this process under the supervision of a new cinematography leadership. The new leadership's aim was to nationalise the film branch. The aim of this thesis is to make clear who was tried by the commission and under what conditions, how the commission arbitrated and who were its members. Another goal is to imply how they influenced the next course of post-war Czechoslovak cinematography.

Retribution judicature in film industry after the Second World War
Černá, Zuzana ; Klimeš, Ivan (advisor) ; Czesany Dvořáková, Tereza (referee)
This thesis deals with the retribution judicature within Czech cinematography in the years 1945-1948. Right after the Second World War, revolutionary denazification commission came into being on the level of companies and union boards. Almost 270 workers from all areas of cinematography underwent the process of the Disciplinary Board of the Union of Czech film workers, including cinema usherettes or directors of film companies. The cases were not judged on any legal basis, but rather under the supervision of a new cinematography leadership. For many of the workers it ended in being forced to leave the industry. Some of the cases were included into the proceedings of the Great Retribution Decree or the Small Retribution Decree. According to the Extraordinary People's Courts and the Penalty Finding Commissions the people were likely to end up in prison or with a fine, or for the worst case there was a possibility of the death sentence. Eventhough an extensive number of cinematography workers stood in front of these courts the conclusions had not such a big influence on the future of Czech film industry as it was in the case of the Disciplinary Board. Despite of this fact, the revolutionary and the offical branches of retribution are often mixed up. The aim of this thesis is to make a distinction and...
The Assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in Film
Padevětová, Marie ; Czesany Dvořáková, Tereza (advisor) ; Česálková, Lucie (referee)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine the film Anthropoid (Sean Ellis, GB / USA / CZ, 2016) from the perspective of its plurimedial network. This concept comes from two German literary academists, Astrid Erll and Stephanie Wodianka, who also apply it on the film medium. The "density" of a plurimedial network is connected to the persistence of a film in a collective memory of a certain group - in case of this thesis, of the Czech society. The denser the plurimedial constellation is, the longer can the medium persist in the collective memory. Such network can be consisted of purposely aimed marketing strategies, coming from within the public campaign of the film, or spontaneous, neutral or biased reactions from journalists or society on preparation works on the film, and on the film itself. The plurimedial constellation is also possibly influenced by wholly pragmatic facets, such as, where or when the premiere took place, the design of film posters or any other products connected to the film (e.g. merchandise). The artwork, which has its constellation strong enough, so it perpetuates the act of remembering in people's minds, call the authors a memory film. This thesis chooses from the broad spectrum of possible ways of examining the plurimedial network of a film a method of media...

Pok, František ; Novotný, Vilém (advisor) ; Czesany Dvořáková, Tereza (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the process of creating an Audiovisual Act in the context of the transformation of audiovisual legislation in the Czech Republic after 1989. Although there was increasing pressure on change over time, as the original legislation did not reflect the epoch and was inadequate, this process lasted almost twenty years. The aim of the thesis is to understand the dynamics of the change in the process of creating audiovisual legislation, focusing on Act No. 496/2012 Coll. Next, identify the actors and factors that have had the greatest impact on policy change. To do so, this work uses and applies the theoretical framework of the Multiple Streams Framework, through which it sets the basic prerequisites for research. The methodological approach is a qualitative research and a research design of a single-case study. In terms of data collection, the text is based on six expert semi-structured interviews that form the base of primary research. Subsequent data are in the form of various documents, studies, press and annual reports, stenographies from the Chamber of Deputies, or, for example, the talk shows in which the process was discussed. Data analysis was conducted using thematic coding technique. Audiovisual legislation entered the political agenda in 2006, but it did not...
The Encounters of Love and Nature in the Lyric Poetry of Eduard Mörike
Dvořáková, Tereza ; Broukalová, Jindra (advisor) ; Bučková, Tamara (referee)
This diploma thesis explores the lyrical poetry of Eduard Mörike (1804-1875), a German poet. The topic of the thesis is theencountering of nature and love in his works. This poet, less known in the Czech context, wrote various kinds of poems, which deserve attention. The thesis is divided in two parts, theoretical and interpretative. In the first part, the thesis focuses on giving an overall context (I deal with a historical context, literary epochs, during which Eduard Mörike wrote, his personality and general introduction in lyrical poetry). The second part of my thesis aims to interpret selected poems, which are divided bytheir themes: romantic love, the morning, wayfaring, the forest and the so-called "Dinggedichte," or poems focusing on understanding and appreciation of a single item. In each poem, a mood or feeling that characterizes the poem is described, who is the speaker within the poem, and which topics of love and nature can be observed. From the perspective of form, I analyze the rhyme scheme. The analysis of each thematic group also contains a comparation of the poems. The interpretational part aims to connect and evaluate the interweaving of love and nature in the poetic works of Eduard Mörike and touch upon the deeper meaning of the poems. Its aim is also to make the selected works...
