Changes of systolic blood pressure figures in dependance on measuring point, body position and the level of physical load among girls from 11 to 13 years
Pavlů, Regina ; Bartůňková, Staša (advisor) ; Kohlíková, Eva (referee) ; Velemínský, Miloš (referee)
Thesis is a pilot study to get reference figures for evaluation of relevancy of hemodynamic development disorders of coartation of the aorta. 18 healthy girls aged from 11 to 13 were tested. In total 450 measurements were carried out and 2700 figures were measured within 1 year in 5 positions. Blood pressure was measured on arteria brachialis and femoralis, supplemented by electric impedance technology on lower limb. The following positions were measured: standstill lying down on a bed, stand after passive verticality up to 66 degrees, standstill seat on a bicycle ergometer and load of 1W/kg and 2W/kg of body weight for 3 minutes. This thesis confirmed the differences in circulation reactions. The systolic pressure gradient among healthy population was lower than among patients with coarctation of aorta and during the physical load was decreasing. The results are important for diagnostics examinations of evolutionary defects. Keyvords: BMI, coarctation of aorta, systolic blood pressure, pressure gradient, load testing

Title: Comparison of educational and compensation exercise programmes for ankylosing spondylitis patients Objective: The objective of the research was to determine the effect of two educational and compensation exercise programmes on the mobility of the axial system, the functional status and disease activity (including inflammatory process activity) in individuals with ankylosing spondylitis. Methods: The research group included men and women (average age of 35.42 ± 7.15 years), all out-patients of the Institute of Rheumatology in Prague. This characteristic sample (n ═ 38) consisted of respondents who were randomised into three groups: The first experimental group (n ═ 13) attended an educational and compensation exercise programme in a group setting in a gym (twice a week) and an educational and compensation exercise programme in the form of a group exercise in a pool - hydrokinesiotherapy (once a week); the second experimental group (n ═ 13) attended the same educational and compensation exercise programme in a group setting in a gym (twice a week); the control group educational and compensation exercise programme in a group setting in a gym (twice a week) received no exercise intervention but its members were allowed to use "passive" physiotherapeutic procedures (e.g. hydrotherapy or...
The effects of extreme physical and mental stress on the human body
Braumová, Lucie ; Bartůňková, Staša (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: The effects of extreme physical and mental stress on the human body Goals: The main goal of this work was to evaluate the effect of physical stress load in a five-kilometer-long race in cross-country skiing on physical and mental functions of high school students. Methods: The investigated group consisted of 10 boys of the average age of 16 years. To evaluate their level of physical fitness and circulatory responses during cross-country stress, the maximal treadmill stress test was used. Circulatory response before, during, and after the race was monitored by a Sport-tester. To evaluate the mental background and the actual condition under the stress load, standardized questionnaires on ability to cross-country skiing, stress management strategy, degree of physical discomfort and current mental state were used. Results: The reference file tested by a stress test up to the maximum proved an above-average aerobic fitness. The extreme stress situation was a five-kilometer-long race in cross-country skiing. The results were processed and evaluated with a statistical and factual relevance. A number of correlations were made. The average SF values, which were achieved during the race, were getting near the maximum values (96% of SF max.). Even the evaluation by a Borg RPE scale attested to the...
Influence of the breast operation on the musculoskeletal system
Vaníková, Kateřina ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Bartůňková, Staša (referee) ; Tošnerová, Vlasta (referee)
Title: Influence of a breast operation on the musculoskeletal system The aim: The aim of this work is to describe and analyse changes of an extent of movement of the shoulder joint in a direction of an abduction, outer rotation and movement stereotype of the abduction. The target group are women who underwent a partial intervention. The method: For the research we have chosen an examination through the planimetric method with the use of a mechanical goniometer which provides a quantitative output, because this method offers a gentle way of an evaluation of the shoulder's movment extent (regarding to the oncological diagnosis and the type of the operation). To evaluate the quality of the shoulder's movement we used an examination of the movement stereotype of the abduction of thee shoulder by Janda (1993). The results: The results show, that the limitation of the shoulder movement extent and the outer rotation that the operation caused, is, more considerable by the group of women who underwent the mastectomy, then by the group of women who underwent the partial intervention. There were 30% of patients (6 women from 20) who underwent a mastectomy and who suffered from the negative change of the movement stereotype. There were only 5% (1women from 20) of women who suffered from this change in the group...
Physical activity after the renal transplantation
Sýsová, Alena ; Mahrová, Andrea (advisor) ; Bartůňková, Staša (referee)
Introduction: Thanks to modern medicine people with chronic forms of the diseases can live longer than before. In this work we concerned with last stage of chronical kidney dinase, which is treated by dialysis or transplantation. Succesful renal transplantation leads to significant improvement in quality of life of patients, but after transplantation there are still some risk factors, which may influence health and physical condition of men. We can eliminace these risk factors with some non-pharmacological ways, for example with intervention program of regular physical activity and special nutrition, which can help to gain and increase patient`s physical condition. The main focus of research of this thesis was to evaluate physical condition and amount of physical aktivity of 4 groups of patients, each with another intervention, after renal transplant. We used the battery of motor tests "Senior Fitness Test Manual". Aim: Analyze, how regular physical activity, special nutrition and combination of both influence physical condition of patients after renal transplant. Methods: This research work is a part of the grant project IGA MZ CR 173 (NS-10518- 3/2009). We used 21 participants selected from patients of Nephrology Clinic TC IKEM in Prague for our solution. Physical fitness testing was performed...
Motor abilities of mental retarded pupils from elementary schools
Jánský, Tomáš ; Bartůňková, Staša (advisor) ; Segeťová, Jarmila (referee)
Title: Motor abilities of mental retarded pupils from basic schools The goal of the thesis: The main goal of this thesis was to compare the capacity of a given set of motor disciplines of pupils from basic schools and pupils from special basic schools. Methods: For the comparison of both groups of pupils of the age of 13 and 14 from basic school and special basic school four tests were used (standing broad jump, sit-ups for 60 s, 12- minute run, shuttle-run 4x10 m). These established data were compared with the average results given in the handbook of UNIFITTEST. Results: From the results of motor tests it is obvious that the efficiency of pupils from special basic schools in both age categories was lower in comparison with pupils from basic schools. But these differences were mostly not statistically significant. The biggest heterogeneity was manifested in the group of boys from special basic schools, especially in run disciplines of 14-year category. Girls from special basic schools reached standard or substandard performances while performances of boys were usually ordinary. Only results in 12-minute run were below the average. Key words: Special basic school, mild mental retardation, physical education with disabled people, motor capacity, UNIFITTESTs 6-60

17 Abstract Title: Quality of life of patients with transverse lesions of the cervical spinal cord at spinal unit. Aims: This thesis aims to evaluate the quality of life of patients with transverse cervical spinal injury treated with an elaborate system of comprehensive rehabilitation in the Spinal Unit, Regional Hospital in Liberec. Methods: In 10 men aged 24-65 years (average age was 47,5 years), with incomplete transverse lesions of traumatic cervical spinal cord, hospitalized at the spinal unit have been established neurological level and extent of spinal cord injury by ASIA scores, were evaluated using the functional level of independence SCIM scores and the questionnaire on quality of life using a standardized questionnaire SF 36 with additional questions. The objective methods were used walking tests. Examination and questionnaire survey was carried out on admission at the spinal unit, and upon discharge after completion of a comprehensive rehabilitation program. It was watched the change in subjective quality of life of patients who underwent a comprehensive rehabilitation program. Results: In 9 patients (90 %) occurred during hospitalization, to improve the level of neurological lesions in 2 of which (20 %) men were full treatment of neurological disability. One patient remained unchanged. In 50 %...
