Incorporation and Morality. The Conception of a Body in Friedrich Nietzsche's Philosophy

My dissertation firstly attempts to define the methodological principles of Nietzsche's analysis of a body and corporeality by means of the concept of physiopsychology (Physio- Psychologie). Nietzsche tries for an explanation of moral judgements as symptoms of bodily conditions and in physiopsychology he detects what is withheld behind moral judgments and shows that their source is always some drive or instinct. This conclusion leads to the core metaphors he uses in thinking about a body: the body as a teacher (Der Leib als Lehrmeister) or the body as a guiding thread (Der Leib als Leitfaden). The first section discusses the process of incorporation (Einverleibung), which, according to Nietzsche, is the foundation of an anthropogenesis. A human must incorporate some schemes (firstly the belief in the sameness of the thing), that form the specific conditions, in order to cultivate himself as a species, which is capable of surviving. The incorporated schemes must be inherently erroneous, but Nietzsche emphasizes that the truth isn't a point in an anthropogenesis, but a firm anchor for a human in the world. "Hegelian movement" in Czechoslovakian philosophy in the nineteen-sixties. Probe into the Czechoslovakian marxist philosophy on the motif of work.

The thesis deals with the Czechoslovakian philosophy in the nineteen-sixties. It focuses not only to its historical description but intends to enter its philosophical thinking from inside and analyse its principal categories. Especially it focuses on the category of work and examines its various formulations, developed in different theoretical perspectives of Czechoslovakian philosophers. This allows distinguish these perspectives in their similarities on one hand and differences on the other. The thesis notably focuses on so called "Hegelian movement" and its evaluation of category of work. This movement, which is in fact the Czechoslovakian variation to the philosophy of praxis, formulates the category of work in its philosophical meaning, i. e. as an ontological category decisive for an origin of the reality and human being. It was originally Hegel, who developed this meaning of category, and Czechoslovakian Hegelian movement continued in developing his ontology adopted through Marx. Jakub Marek, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The thesis Faust and the role of myth in the philosophy of Czech thinkers: Bratránek, Masaryk, Patočka, deals with the theme of Faust and its role in individual works of the mentioned philosophers. The thesis briefly contains the origin and development of the Faust myth, its most famous literary work, and its appearance on the Czech territory. The main chapters of the thesis are those that are focused on such texts of the mentioned thinkers, who are concerned with the Faustian theme. The resulting analyzes and comparations contribute to the depiction and arrangement of the role of the Faustian myth in Czech philosophy, mainly because of the different approaches, goals and methods of research used in their work by F. The Geneaology of the Apollinian and Dioynisian Principle

This work is focused on the work The Birth of Tragedy by Friedrich Nietzsche. The aim of this work is an attempt to reveal the origin of the concept of the apollinian and dionysian principle. We assume that Nietzsche conceals his true sources in the Birth of Tragedy from the reader. However, in this work, based on numerous clues from the primary text, we show that both the Dionysian and the Apollonian principle derives from the German Romantic tradition of the first half of the 19th century. In this thesis we prove this statement on many examples of authentic sources which Nietzsche has demonstrably worked with. The main "discovery" of the work lies in the historical contextualization of the formation of both principles within the conflict between Romanticism and Classicism concerning the true nature of Greek culture.

The Concepts of Decadence and Health in Nietzsche's Late Philosophy

The Concepts of Decadence and Health in Nietzsche's Late Philosophy The thesis deals with the concepts of decadence and health, which feature prominently in Nietzsche's late thinking. The core sources of the thesis are Nietzsche's works from 1888, namely The Case of Wagner, Twilight of the Idols, The Anti-Christ, Ecce Homo and Nietzsche contra Wagner, although earlier works are occasionally cited as well. The thesis aims to explore what the motives decadence and health mean in the context of late Nietzsche's thinking, what role they play in his grand philosophical project of the revaluation of all values, and how they interplay with each other. A consistent motive is applied throughout the thesis, that of decadence and health being opposites in terms of "amount" or "direction" of will to power manifesting itself through them - decadence, or bodily decay, is taken to represent a descending line of life characterized by a lack of will to power, and suffering from "a lack of life", while health is taken to represent an ascending line of life which is characterized as overflowing with life and suffering from it as well. Human as a being of the centre and a modest commentary of Herder's philosophy

Main goal of this work is to mediate an approach for czech reader to almost forgotten philosophy of Johann Gottfried von Herder, who published his books in the 18. century. This student of I. Kant is absolutely someone, who should not be eliminated from a group of authors who determined enlightement thinking. It is not just coincidence that Goethe himself called Herder as Brother Humanus. The exact term of humanity is rightful goal of my interpretation. Why? Because humanity is a fundamental basic term of whole Herder's philosophy. This work claims to analyze two main works of this philosopher, Essay on the origin of language and The Evolution of Humanity, which is the czech translate of his Ideas for the philosophy of humanity. And we will analyze this two texts in a way, which shall show us the interconnections between them. The we will move into synthetic chapter called Herder's concept of humanity. There I will put the previous interpretation into confrontation with more of Herder's books and I will show what humanity means to Herder and why is it so central term for his whole philosophy. The case of Rousseau: Formation of an existence

This diploma thesis is based on the final works of Michel Foucault (Courage of truth, Fearless peech) and it focuses on how the truth and truth-telling as an activity effects self- formation of the individual, namely self-formation of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, which is recorded in his autobiografical works (Confession of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Dialoges: Rousseau, Judge of Jean-Jacques, Reveries of a Solitery Walker). In my thesis, I have tried to decide as which true-telling person he could be considered (prophet, sage, teacher, parrhesiastes or cynic). In order to achieve that, I drew from his other philosophical works and secondary literature (Discurses, Essay on the Origin of languages, Emile or On Education, The Social Contract, Letter to M. D'Alembert on Spectacles, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Transparency and Obstruction) and I was looking for evidence of his true nature and thoughts, which I put into context of his work Confessions afterwards. Human in the light of science

The paper thematizes the concept of science in mid- and late thinking of Friedrich Nietzsche in the context of his understanding of scientific cognition of both: human and its world. The study introduces the problem of science and cognition in general in connection with significant motives of Nietzsche's thinking: morality, the revaluation of all values, thinking and living "beyond good and evil", freedom, human body, the superhuman motive, ascetic ideals, and more. Emphasis is put on the problem of veracity in the context of Nietzsche's attitude to idealism.
