Significance of oil in the EU economy

The objective of my work is to refer to huge influence of oil and petroleum products in our EU economy. Although we hold only 0,4 % of world's oil proved reserves, our economy is planned on oil.Oil participates in energy mix with 38 % and is the most considirable and useful primamry energy. To satisfy our needs we have to import a lot of tons of oil. Our economy is dependent on oil imports of 85 % from abroad. In addition our economy is dependent on foreign countries. My objective and desire is to improve our situation in European Union in my future life.

Comparison of energy dependence of the Czech Republic and Slovakia and its implications for their energy policy

This bachelor thesis compares the energy dependence of Slovakia and the Czech Republic and resulting implications for energy policy of both countries. The thesis presents the degree of dependence on energy sources and suppliers of energy to both Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The first chapter defines the term of energy dependence and energy security. Given that EU energy policy greatly influences the energy policies of their member countries, the first chapter also introduces the energy situation in the EU and its position in the world. The second and third chapters deal with the energy situation in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. These chapters introduce the energy policies of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, their dependence on energy resources and suppliers, and show the implications for their energy policies.
The role of the International Monetary Fund in solving the crisis situation in selected countries

The aim of this thesis is to clarify and assess the role of the International Monetary Fund in solving the crisis situation in selected countries. The first chapter is focused on general characteristic of the IMF. It describes country membership in this institution, operation development, financial assistance realization and also it mentions a critical view on its efficiency. The nature of existence of the IMF is described in the second chapter, which covers an analysis of financial assistance for five countries (Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Ireland) and usefulness of the IMF.
EU Energy Policy and Its Contribution to Energy Networks Stability

This bachelor thesis deals with EU energy policy and its potential to ensure a stability and security of energy networks. Key content of this thesis is a position analysis of EU's energy resources -- oil, natural gas and electricity in connection with EU's energy mix. These figures are compared with existing and proposed European energy infrastructure and with activities of EU in Trans-European energy networks, internal energy market and external dimension of energy policy. On the basis of the collected information there are evaluated particular potentials and tools of EU which can ensure the stability and security of energy networks.
Reforms of EU Common Agricultural Policy and their impact on Czech agriculture

The main objective of this thesis is to describe the influence of several reforms of Common Agricultural Policy on Czech agriculture. The first chapter deals with the inception, goals and principles of CAP. In the second chapter is described the reform from 80's, McSharry's reform from 90's, reform within the frame of Agenda 2000 and reform from the year 2003. The third chapter is devoted to the conception of CAP in the period 2007-2013 and the reform Health Check, which took place in this period. The fourth chapter is focused on the impact of reforms of CAP on Czech agriculture. First is described the development of Czech agriculture before entering the Czech Republic to European Union, which is followed by description of preparation of agriculture sector to entry the EU. Next part of the chapter deals with the influence of reforms on Czech agriculture and also this chapter introduces the impact on production, which is illustrated on selected commodities. The fifth chapter outlines the future development of the CAP and its expected impact on Czech agriculture. The final chapter is formed by case study, in which is showed the direct impact of CAP's reforms on particular agriculture firm.
Public budgets of all EU members between the time period of 2008 to 2011 - basic problems and their solutions

This bachelor's thesis deals with the problematic of public budgets in the EU countries. It treats of the current situation in individual member countries by fulfilling budget rules, analyses possible causes of current debt crisis and sketches out future outlook. First part focuses on theory of fiscal and budget policy and defines basic terms. In the second part is a characteristic of the public financing situation in individual EU members during the following time period to find. In the last chapter there is a summary of current budget problems in specific EU countries, like installation of economic measures or implementation new steps in order to coordinate fiscal policy.
Position of the reunited Germany in the EU budget

The aim of this thesis is to explain the position of Germany and its federal states in the European Union budget. The thesis analyses the macroeconomic conditions of the reunited Germany. Simultaneously, it also describes the current competitiveness of Germany by analysing the Global Competitiveness Index, measured by the World Economic Forum. The resulting analysis is applied to the budget of the European Union, its revenues and expenditures from the perspective of Germany and its federal states. Great emphasis is placed on the persisting differences between the old and the new federal states.
Direct Investments and Their Impact on the Economy of the Country (Chosen Aspects)

This bachelor thesis deals with foreign direct investments. The first chapter describes foreign direct investment in general, explains the basic concepts and evolution of their flows in recent years. The second part concentrates on chosen aspects, the impact of foreign direct investments on employment and transfer pricing. The last part of this work is focused on United Kingdom and on flows of direct investments into this country and from this country abroad. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the impact of foreign direct investments on the economy in general and then on one chosen country -- United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Development of UK economy during economic crisis in time period from 2007 to 2011

Bachelor thesis deals with development of UK economy during time period from 2007 to 2011. Main emphasis is put on the analysis of basic macroeconomic indicators during period of economic crisis of the latest years. The first part of the thesis briefly describes development of UK economy before 2007. The second part pursues causes and impacts of the economic crisis on UK economy started in 2007 using analysis of macroeconomic indicators. The last part of the thesis outlines the future of UK economy in 2012 and 2013.
