Fears of pupils in biology

The diploma thesis deals with an emotional state called fear and it's pathological form - phobia. The thesis is focused on frequency and form of fears of pupils in older school age and on influence of these fears on teaching of Natural Sciences. The analysis of educational field of Natural Sciences, the interview and the questionnaire investigation of pupils were used in the diploma thesis. On the basis of research results I suggested basic recommendations for teachers who meet pupils with fear or specific phobia during classes. The diploma thesis uses methods of qualitative and quantitative research.

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT The title of the work: Importance of Postural Activation of the Diaphragm in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Bachelor Thesis Abstract: This bachelor thesis on the topic of the postural activation of the diaphragm in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes a description of the physiology of breathing - breathing is considered a motoric function here. The theoretical part occupies itself with a description of kinesiology of breathing and the breathing pattern. A separate chapter is devoted to the diaphragm, its anatomy, and its postural breathing function. In this vein, the thesis presents the notion of the deep stabilizing system of the spine and the possibilities of affecting it therapeutically. Further, it defines the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, characterizes its effects, especially with regard to physiotherapy, and presents the possibilities for a complex treatment. As regards the complex treatment, the thesis focuses on the non-pharmacologic alternative, i.e. lung rehabilitation. First Aid Education and Effectivity - Quantitative Research

The present thesis deals with the First Aid. It is aimed at comparing the knowledge of this subject before and after completion of the course called "First Aid in Schools" lectured at the Charles University, Faculty of Science, and thereby to evaluate efficiency of this cycle. The main goal raises a number of questions to be answered: 1. Is the First Aid defined unequivocally in relevant professional texts? 2. How the First Aid is taught in schools and in other institutions? 3. What steps have to be taken in order to implement quantitative research? 4. How the data collected in a quantitative research are to be processed? 5. Which topics pose problems in teaching the "First Aid in Schools" in terms of the research results? The present thesis is divided into five chapters. The first, Introductory chapter summarizes content of the work. The second chapter covers definition of the First Aid, teaching the First Aid in Schools and methodology of research carried out in this field. The third chapter deals with implementation of quantitative results and with definition of hypotheses. The fourth chapter summarizes the results based on quantitative research. Physiotherapy after breast surgery

The aim of this work is to describe the issue of breast cancer surgery and the role of physiotherapy in this area. The theoretical part describes basics of breast anatomy, defines breast carcinoma, its diagnosis, risk factors, types, ways of spreading and symptoms of the disease. For the prevention and treatment of postoperative complications is crucial early and long-term physiotherapy of the patients. Next chapter describes the objectives of physiotherapy, kinesiological analysis of patients and most frequently used therapeutic techniques. The last chapter deals with the psychological aspect of therapy and confirms the significant influence of psychic on the results of treatment and on the quality of life of the patients. The practical part aims to analyze the physical condition of the patients after breast surgery and to evaluate the effect of physiotherapy on the course of treatment and prevention of postoperative complications. The second objective was to determine the level of awareness of breast cancer patients and possible postoperative complications. Specifics of communication in kindergarten

(in English): The present bachelor thesis examines basic specifics of communication in kindergarten. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to both general and specific communication between a teacher and children. The main focus is on communication functions upon which communication is built. The thesis also offers a basic insight into the Czech preschool education system and briefly presents alternative educational programs with special focus on the program Step by Step practiced in the kindergarten in which data were collected for the practical part of the thesis. The research reported consists of qualitative descriptive analyses of frequently repeated characteristics of the communication between a teacher and children. The conclusion calls for further longitudinal research in this area of communication.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a progressive disease of the airways, and physiotherapy may play an important role in slowing the progression and improving the quality of life in people with this diagnosis. The theoretical part of the thesis describes chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and elements of pulmonary rehabilitation, the attention is focused mainly on the procedures of respiratory physiotherapy. Alchemy in Ibn Khaldūn's Concept of Medieval Science

This thesis examines Ibn Khaldūnʼs concept of alchemy in his work Mukaddimah. Its chapters dealing with alchemy were analyzed as well as works of Ibn Khaldūnʼs predecessors, whose works Ibn Khaldūn quotes. Due to this comparison it was possible to analyze Ibn Khaldūnʼs view of alchemy and to look at it in a context of the view of sciences from that time. In this work, Ibn Khaldūnʼs view of alchemy in social context is also considered as well as consequences of alchemy practicing for humanity. These thoughts can be also compared to views of other scholars, for example Ibn Ḥazm and others, who also expressed their opinions on alchemy and other occult sciences in their times.
