Intercultural social work on the example of Mongolian clients of the Residential centre Kostelec nad Orlicí

The thesis focuses on specification of intercultural social work, using the example of social service provided by the Residential Centre in Kostelec nad Orlici and the position of Mongolian applicants for international protection. In theoretical part the question of intercultural social work from a perspective of social worker is discussed - philosophical base is stated, scientific findings concerning selected subject are gathered, the situation of Mongolian migrants and the social service is described. Empirical part addresses the client's perception of social service. Using the method of in-depth interviews the research aims to find out how the Mongolian clients understand the social service provided by the Residential Centre Kostelec, whether they claim it useful and whether they see any difficulties in getting use of such service. Some of the insufficiency of provided social service is pointed out and therefore some appropriate arrangements are suggested at the end.

Romani NGO subjects in capital city of Prague

V této práci se snažím primárně popsat nejdůležitější systémy a situace, které tvoří jádro činnosti romských a proromských neziskových organizací na území hlavního města Prahy. K tomuto účelu se v první části práce věnuji nastínění historického kontextu vývoje sdružování Romů s přihlédnutím k území ČR. Historický exkurz slouží jako logické východisko pro účelné uchopení problematiky romských neziskových subjektů obecně. Dále se ve své práci zabývám tématem terminologie, související nejen s oblastí romského a pro-romského neziskového sektoru. V rámci objasňování terminologie jsem se pokusil definovat některé pojmy, které jsou společensky i odborně kontroverzní, avšak pro účely této práce nezbytné. Tyto definice jsou však pouze pracovní formou, která napomůže lépe uchopit danou problematiku. Dále se snažím nastínit současnou situaci Romů s důrazem na sociálně ekonomické aspekty života. Především se v tomto smyslu soustředím na bydlení, zaměstnanost a vzdělávání Romů na území hlavního města Prahy. V empirické části práce se věnuji samotnému popisu neziskových romských a pro-romských organizací, které se mi podařilo přesvědčit ke spolupráci. V rámci této spolupráce jsem si vypůjčil sociologickou metodu nestrukturovaného rozhovoru a k tomuto účelu sestavil okruh kladených otázek (viz. přílohy). Na podklade...

The role of Romany teaching assistants in the education of Roma children

Romové tvoří početně nej významnější etnickou menšinu v České republice. Podle expertních odhadů žije na území České republiky 200 - 300 tisíc Romů (cca 2-3 % celkového počtu obyvatel). Současný stav, ve kterém se romská menšina nachází, plně odpovídá obecně přijímaným definicím sociálního vyloučení. Romská minorita je ve větší míře než většinová společnost v ČR vystavena dlouhodobé nezaměstnanosti, nízkému vzdělání a kvalifikaci, špatnému zdravotnímu stavu, neuspokojivému bydlení, diskriminaci, rasismu, životu ve velmi znevýhodněných oblastech. Jde o "začarovaný kruh" vzájemně propojených a na sobě závislých problémů sociální povahy. Klíčovými oblastmi, které vedou ke stavu sociálního vyloučení Romů, jsou nízká úroveň vzdělanosti, s ní související situace na trhu práce a ztížený přístup ke kvalitnímu bydlení. V následujícím textu se zaměřím na oblast vzdělávání, konkrétně na problematiku rovných příležitostí ve vzdělávání a zavádění integračních nástrojů. Detailně se budu věnovat jednomu příkladu "dobré" praxe, který přispívá ke zvyšování šancí romských dětí na úspěšné zvládnutí základního systému vzdělávání, získání vyšší úrovně vzdělání a následného uplatnění na trhu práce. The impact of new legal regulation of social services

The main topic of diplomma work is the impect of new legal regulation of social services on the institution providing daycare for old peopole. This diplomma work is describing the new law of the social services and it introduces the daily centre for erderly. The work contains research, which is made by interview. The interview was answering on the researching questions about the changes which the law brings to the daily centre. I was asking the employees in the centre, which considers the erderly dementia. The investigation show, that the interviewed agree with the changes of the law. Some of the responsibilities of the law are not acceptable for demented erderly.

Women in ICT professions and ICT sector in the Czech Republic

This thesis analyses the low representation of women in the ICT professions as well as their inadequate representation in the ICT companies in the Czech Republic. Given it is the very first study of this kind in the Czech Republic, it also provides comprehensive catalogue of relevant foreign theoretical studies and hypothesis, which examine the issue of gender gap in the ICT. This thesis also deals with social and historical factors that - as approved by numerous empirical studies - have negative impact on the way girls and women relate to information and communication technologies, resulting in a low representation of women in the ICT professions. The above factors are applied to the context of the Czech society, using academic studies and other relevant sources in the field of equal opportunities, including qualitative interviews, which I conducted with ICT teachers and lecturers as well as women and men working in the ICT field. Not last, the thesis builds upon a qualitative empirical probe, which aims to introduce more detailed information about the experiences of women holding ICT positions in the Czech Republic. Adoption of childern by homosexual couples and individuals

My diploma thesis' topic is Adoption of children by homosexual couples and individuals. The first chapter focuses on history of homosexuality from antique period to holocaust, it describes it's biological and social background and shows how different societies held different attitude towards it. The second chapter is aimed on czech lands, Czechoslovakia and nowadays Czech republic. The third chapter describes development of movements and organisations which protect human and civil rights of homosexuals and lesbians and points out the most important of them. It also considers problem of AIDS and change of sex comprehension during 1960's. The forth chapter tracks jurisfical history of homosexuality in Czech republic and describes registered partnership. The fifth chapter describes forms of adoption of children by homosexuals in Europe and draws up arguments for and against the adoptions. The sixth chapter shows forms of the adoptions in particular european countries and public voice in European Union. It also considers persecution of homosexuals in world and in Europe. The last seventh chapter advises how and what to learn from the countries which already have legalized adoptions of children by homosexual couples and individuals.

The cooperation beween comercial and non-government organizations in realization of social projects

Stěžejní myšlenkou této práce je představa spolupráce neziskových organizací s komerčními firmami při realizaci společensky prospěšných projektů. Jedná se však o spolupráci, ve které je vzájemný vztah obou stran vyvážený a partnerský. Pro neziskové organizace, které oslovují potenciálního komerčního partnera, je nezbytné, aby působily profesionálně, důvěryhodně a přinášely zajímavé projekty, kterými dokáží oslovit co nejširší auditorium. Aby těchto kvalit dosáhly, musí se vyhnout chybným krokům, které uvádím v kapitolách o slabých místech neziskových organizací a o překážkách ve vzájemné spolupráci. Ovšem klíčem k úspěchu je zároveň i pochopení a motivace ze strany komerčních organizací a firem. V tomto ohledu, i přes některé již fungující partnerské programy a projekty, se ve srovnání se státy západní Evropy (Německo, Rakousko, Skandinávské země...) nachází ČR zatím ve stavu dospívání. Aby se situace ve firemním dárcovství a spolupráci komerčních a neziskových subjektů u nás obrazně řečeno dospěla, tzn. aby snesla západoevropská měřítka, je podle mého názoru nutné, aby došlo k následujícím změnám a vývoji: 1. Generational and intergenerational forms and ways of partnering among elderly people

Jako hlavní téma své diplomové práce jsem zvolila, poměrně málo probádanou oblast mezigeneračních a intrageneračních forem a způsobů sdružování seniorů. Dle Petruska je studium primárních sociálních vztahů, "které jsou manifestací čisté sociopreferenční orientace či subinstitucionálního chování, vztahů, jež nejsou organizačně a institucionálně vzorcovány a jsou obvykle provázeny emocionálním podtextem, odůvodněno i ve výzkumech makrostrukturálně orientovaných" (Machonin a kol. 1969: 401). Takto zaměřený výzkum umožňuje odpovědět na některé teoreticky závažné otázky, které mohou být položeny v následujících oblastech - jaké máme informace o sociopreferenčních orientacích seniorů? Co víme o jejich přátelstvích a vlivu těchto vazeb na kvalitu života seniora? Jaký je vliv těchto vazeb na seniorovu každodennost? Praktická znalost tohoto typu sociopreferenčních orientací nám pomůže nahlédnout a lépe porozumět jemnému předivu vztahů, kterým jsou senioři obklopeni. A to hned na dvou úrovních, nejen v generaci seniorů samotných, ale seznámíme se i s dynamikou vztahů, které jsou navázány směrem k rodinným příslušníkům a dalším důležitým osobám, které seniory obklopují.

Tato práce by měla tvořit jakýsi přehled současné situace, týkající se seniorů, nevyhnula jsem se v ní reflexi současné situace i předpokládaným demografickým projekcím a aktuální situaci seniorů v oblasti sociálního zabezpečení v ČR. Považuji za důležité zmínit i to, jak jsou senioři vnímáni většinovou společností a jak jsou dnes chápány pojmy stárnutí a stáří. To že jsou, stejně tak jako v ostatních věkových kohortách, velké interindividuální rozdíly, také nelze opominout. Cílem práce je předložit závěry několika provedených výzkumů, které se tématu sdružování seniorů dotýkají a interpretovat jejich výsledky.

Above all, these challenges are concerned with use of hallucinogens among laymen, for therapeutic, educational, autognostic, and heuristic purposes. The other challenge for social work is the conception, construction, and the influencing of drug policies, including programs of social prevention.
