Linguistic means as used in sermons of contemporary preachers of United Methodist Church in the Czech Republic

The diploma work that is being submitted deals with the linguistic analysis of randomly chosen sermons of contemporary Methodist preachers in Czech Republic. Based on data acquired from transcriptions of audio records, it describes and comments linguistic means that are used by preachers in their sermons. The work investigates level of preachers' utterance and accessibility of sermons to regular and random auditory. It is meant to contribute to understanding of Czech (protestant) homiletics as well as to increasing the level of rhetoric o f preachers.
Practising of verbal forms in the education of Czech for foreigners

The essay deals with the morphological exercises of Czech for foreignes, especially with the conjugatin of verbs. It outlines which exercises could be used for morphology education of Czech as a Foreign Language and it shows which exercises are most beneficial for the initial training of this aspekt od the language and which ones could be used for further training and revision. To learn conjugation in Czech we do not only use exercises such as gap fill, substitution or sentence completion exercises, but we can make use of a lot of language games and activities, which by nature come closer to natural communication. By using concrete exercises, we show how to train the language the best. The theoretical part points out the factors influencing the choice of exercises and shows the most frequent types of exercises to be used for learning a foreign language. The practical part briefly deals with the nouns - categories of numbers, gender, category o f animata / inanimata, because these factors have a major impact on forming the verbs. Non-verbal Communication of Participants of Television Talkshows

The bachelor thesis deals with nonverbal means of communication used by participants of a talkshow. 1 focused on the moderator and guests of the Czech television late night show Uvolněte se, prosím. The theoretical part concerns ont the definition of nonverbal communication and the classification and description of non verze phenomena. The practical part deals with the interpretation of the concrete nonverbal phenomena, their deliberateness or unwillingness, the intention of the speakers and the effect on the recipients of the talkshow. In my thesis I tried to refer to the connection of verbal and nonverbal components and to the fact that the moderator uses various means of nonverbal communication according to sex and age of his guests.
Linguistic analysis of advertising texts in terms of age cathegory

In my thesis, I focused on advertisements and their impact on the recipients according to their age. I concentrated on commerce advertisements; mainly from TV, newspaper and magazines. I assessed manipulative strategies in concrete age categories and commented on verbal and nonverbal linguistic means. I presented examples of these linguistic means in real advertisements, which are attached to this thesis. In the individual chapters, I divided the typology according to the subject and according to the age of the recipient. I tried to point out the main differences in manipulative strategy and differences between used language means in concrete age categories.
Innovative methods and forms of work in teaching Czech language at lower secondary schools

Diploma thesis Innovative Methods and Forms of Work in Teaching Czech Language at Lower Secondary Schools divides methods and forms of work into two categories - traditional and innovative. It defines the space these methods get in real teaching, and it gives a theoretical description of the innovative ones. The real state, as seen by pupils and teachers, is verified by a survey which was carried out at lower secondary schools. The work also compares and contrasts methods and forms of work which are used in teaching English as a mother tongue at schools in the UK, but also which are used in teaching English as a foreign language at Czech schools. The practical part contains concrete lesson plans, in which innovative methods and forms of work are used.
Pragmatic and stylistic analysis of ceremonial wedding speech

The diploma thesis deals with wedding solemn declarations in the light of language focusing on the pragmatic aspects. The point is to form the typical sings of the solemn declarations style based on the used stylistic and pragmatic analysis. The starting material of the analysis builds together 30 harangues (15 civil and 15 church), from which are the exhibits used and are part of the enclosure. The work is divided in four chapters. In the first chapter we deal with the characterization of wedding solemn declarations of wedding solemn declarations and with the structure of the ceremony (how civil as church), too. The second chapter The civil cermony and church draws out understanding institution of marriage with laws of the Czech Republic and it speaks aqbout civil and church wedding cermony generaly. The next chapter "The pragmatic and stylistic analysis" contain the analysis of the all illustrations. The amphasis is located on the thematic aspect of speeches in the pragmatic analysis. There are drawn out a personality of speaker and his intention. The stylistic analysis is done in the separated levels - fonetic-fonologic, morfologic, lexical and syntactic. Criteria and ways of evaluation in teachnig stalistics

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem hodnocení, jeho specificností v hodinách slohové výchovy. Zameruje se na psané projevy žáku, zkoumá zpusoby a kritéria hodnocení kontrolních slohových prací. Vychází z analýzy opravených slohových prací žáku a z dotazníkového šetrení. Vyhodnocuje v praxi využívané zpusoby hodnocení, navrhuje možný systém oznacování chyb, vhodné kriteriální hodnocení, uvádí seznam možných kritérií. Navrhuje nekteré možné zpusoby, jak naucit pracovat žáky s kritérii hodnocení a s vlastní chybou.
The specifics of the female communication (from the material of disscussion websistes)

Résumé This thesis is dedicated to the reserch and analysis of electronical communication, which proceeds on a website, primary designed for women and used by women. The task of this research is to define and desribe the behaviour and the development of the communication between the users and also to describe the features typicall for this kind of communication. The website, from which are the insertions and illustrations taken, is called www.beremese.cz and it is oriented on the wedding thematic. The definition of the room, in which the users communicate, was taken over from the text of Eva Jandova/b (see the list of used texts). The purpose of this thesis is to narrowly document and analyse the diagram of communication between the female users of this website, during which time the special attention belongs to the semantic level of all analysed conversations. Because the data, which the users during the communication offer, can not be verified, the users can not be classified due to their social status in the "real world", but only due to their status in the space of the electronical communication. Pragmatic analysis of practice talks of Safety Line

Diploma work deals with pragmatic and stylistic anaylisis of practice talks of a Safety Line for children and adolescents. Its aim was to map and to valorize spoken speech in the frame of telephonic helpline in Prague. There is a interpretation of psychologic conceptions like a crisis, crisis intervention at the first part, which are for understending of language analysis necessery and summary of variables, which can influence language speech of consultants of the Safety Line. I mean specific of telephone communication and understanding with a man in difficult life situation. Analysis, valorizing and exercise of psychologic and language strategies (speech acts) during work with childeren is done on the basis of records of exercise talks on the Safety Line. Classification of this way acquired data make more effective method of handover of experiences in future didactic use not only for education of consultants of the Safety Line but also in schools. This work demonstrates high individuality and variability of speech of all consultants of the Safety Line in spite of his institutional conception and uniform principles of telefonie crisis intervention.
