Prestige of Nursery School Teaching

This thesis is devoted to the teaching profession with a focus on nursery school teaching. The theoretical part contains information about teaching as a profession, focusing directly on the prestige of nursery school teachers and describes the contemporary aspects of prestige. Finally, it is described in detail the development of the profession preschool teacher, as a source of ongoing professionalisation of teaching. The main objective of the research is to compare how the prestige of pre-primary teachers evaluated by teachers from other educational levels and preschool educators themselves. Furthermore, to determine how different the results of the investigation work of the author and poll by the Centre for Public Opinion Research (Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění - CVVM) at the Institute of Sociology of the prestige of the profession of 2013 and 2016. Design survey is mixed. The method is a questionnaire, structured interviews and document analysis. The results show the relative agreement with research by CVVM. Respondents rated significantly differently just 4 professions and teaching professions rated slightly higher than in the original survey. Measuring subjective well-being of teachers at elementary schools with using the anchoring vignette method

The diploma thesis deals with evaluation of subjective well-being of elementary school teachers with use of anchoring vignettes. General goal of the thesis is to research actual subjective well-being of teachers and find out what factors are affecting it. Theoretical part characterizes subjective well-being and its components, its interconnection with life satisfaction, quality of life and happiness. Theoretical part also consists of explanation of the anchoring vignettes method including description of its application in particular researches. Empirical part of the thesis uses an existing survey method called Diener's satisfaction with life scale supplemented by anchoring vignettes. The research refers to high level of subjective well-being among teachers. Some variables (eg. family status, work in city or village) which make differences between levels of satisfaction were found. Application of anchoring vignettes method confirmed results of self-assessing questions in most cases. Life attitudes and values of selected groups of adolescents

The thesis called "Life attitudes and values of selected groups of adolescents" deals with comparison of changes through longitudinal study in chosen indicators of value orientation and actual life attitudes of adolescents, who are situated in educational institution and being at the same time students of high school preparing themselves for future career. The results are compared with the survey, which was carried out between the years 2009 - 2010. The arrangement of gained data has a character of comparative study, which evaluates an occurrence of certain aspects in respondents' hierarchy of values and maps their shift in a certain period of time. The theoretical part is concerned with attitudes and value orientation, their elements and formations; furthermore it structures a phenomenon of adolescence in general, which is compared in selected indicators with specifically selected groups, which are the subject of the survey. For a better insight into the problematic, the conclusion of the theoretical part specifies an environment of an institutional education and its basic characteristics.
