Both of the terms are set in broader contexts of Europe and the Balkans as emerging concepts and the way they have been represented in Czech and Bulgarian. The relevant language data originate in the national corpuses - The Czech National Corpus and The Bulgarian National Corpus. Cesty k optimalizaci výuky jazyků a výukových materiálů: Jiný přístup k pokročilé jazykové výuce a učení

The PhD thesis "Optimizing Language Teaching and Learning Materials: A Different Approach to Advanced Language Teaching and Learning" deals with the most recent advances in linguoculturology and pushes forward the idea of a new advanced level language-teaching material. The first chapter of the thesis serves as an overture to the importance of using linguoculturology in the creation of language-learning materials. It also puts forth the importance of language in the creation of the language persona, which is further explained in the following chapters. Chapter two presents the development stages of contemporary linguoculturology and the basic terminology used in the study of this linguistic study. Chapter number three explores the advances in foreign language learning, combining different methods and finally introducing the concept of polycontextuality in foreign language-learning, along with the basic theoretical structure the proposed e-textbook. The fourth chapter presents the e- textbook intended for foreign advanced level language-learning, along with descriptions on similar projects and textbooks that exist today. The words of Turkish origin in the contemporary Bulgarian, Greek and Albanian languages

The subject of this diploma thesis is the use of Turkisms in Bulgarian, Greek and Albanian languages. First of all, the basic principles of lexical borrowing and the place of Turkisms in the current linguistic situation of the Bulgarian, Greek and Albanian languages are discussed. Attempts have been made to identify a specific number of Turkisms in each language, and some views have been presented on the term "Turkism", according to some scholars. Periodization of the onset of Turkisms are discussed, as well as a brief overview of previous studies on Turkisms as an introduction to the problem. After that, the subject of the work went on to the morphological and lexical-semantic analysis of Turkisms. From a morphological point of view, the basic Turkish suffixes borrowed in these three Balkan languages and their main meanings are considered. The analysis is performed with the selection of 70 Turkisms from the index of Prof. dr. Maxim Stamenov and having as source language for the comparison the Bulgarian language. The most famous and extensive dictionaries of each language from which the meanings of the lemmas came from were selected for comparison. Cognitive assumptions of interferential phenomena on the grammatical level in the case of Russian-Czech individual bilingualism

The thesis shows the approaches of cognitive grammar to the description and analysis of case category's functioning in Czech and Russian languages. Attention is limited to the cognitive grammar as it interpreted by American linguist R. Langacker. Cognitive researches on Slavic languages by L. Janda are also crucial for this diploma. From this point of view the thesis's author studies the interferential phenomena which are typical for Russian-language speakers when they use the Czech language. In other words, by means of conceptual apparatus relevant to cognitive grammar author explains the different use of case category in both these languages. Loanwords from exotic languages in Czech and Bulgarian Language

Annotation: The bachelor's thesis focuses on comparing the attitudes to words taken from so-called "exotic" languages in Czech and Bulgarian linguistics and lexicography. It examines the terminological and theoretical agreements and the differences in the approaches to similar exoticisms and the different formal, semantic and grammatical features of individual loanwords. The analysed material comes from single-volume interpretative dictionaries of literary Czech and Bulgarian which are regarded as normative and contain approximately 50,000 or 60,000 words. The thesis is based on the view that the term "exotic language" ("exoticism") is mainly denoted by the names of phenomena, objects and so on originating from distant lands and cultures (realia) while taking into account the de-exoticism of particular units, which gradually become part of the commonly-used vocabulary of both languages.

innovations in the language of internet forums (Czech-Bulgarian parallels)

The thesis deals with manifestations of lexical dynamics in the language of Internet discussion forums. The chosen communication sphere is typical for its creativity and spontaneity, respectively active exchange of lexical means and the effort for fresh expressions. For these reasons, the language of discussion forums on the Internet is a suitable material basis for the confrontational description of lexical innovations in contemporary Bulgarian and contemporary Czech. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the notion of neologism and the terms connected with it, as well as the specific features of Internet communication. In the practical part, a structural and semantic analysis of Czech and Bulgarian neologisms is carried out, and considering that a large part of the new lexicon used in the discussion forums is borrowed mainly from English, more attention is paid to the interpretation of the meaning of these loanwords and the ways of their adaptation in Czech and in Bulgarian.

Language in athletics

Diploma thesis Language in athletics is focused on stratification of Czech national language and deals with vocabulary and its layers. The thesis describes slang and different aspects of slang in detail, brings a closer view to a language processes, to the beginning of sports slang and to a sport journalism. Furthermore, thesis describes a history of Czech athletics, the origin of terminology in physical education and the origin of Czech athletic terminology. The thesis uses linguistic research for a description of current athletic terminology and completes it by a new slang expressions. This diploma thesis contains both a vocabulary of athletic terminology and slang extended by some equivalents of English and Russian terminology. The Bachelor thesis is focused on one of the most significant figures of the Bulgarian linguistics, Aleksandar Teodorov-Balan (1859-1959) and his attitude towards purist tendencies in the Bulgarian language. The aim of the thesis is to describe his opinions on the purity of the language and criteria of the linguistic correctness and in particular his attempts to influence the literary usage. The thesis also deals with the influence of the Czech academic environment on Balan's linguistic work.

Theoretical Aspects of the Czech Textbook for Ukrainian Speakers - Level A1 CEFR

The recent political and economic changes in Ukraine aroused interest in studying foreign languages. Though Czech is a language with a relatively small number of speakers, it has a substantial audience of learners in Ukraine. Among the reasons, one can surely mention close cultural and political relations between both countries and traditionally attractive image of the Czech republic as a target country for the Ukrainian migrants. The doctoral thesis meets the learning needs of a target group, which is currently being short of relevant learning materials of Czech. Beforehand it concerns adult learners studying Czech as a foreign language for strictly practical reasons (not as a subject of a high school curriculum), with a great deal of autonomy in their studying. The profile of the target group specifies the main parameters of the language textbook outlined in the doctoral thesis. Beside the general and particular theory of designing language textbooks, the following problems are also discussed: studying of close relative languages, differences between studying a foreign language and the second language, a foreign language on the early stages of learning/aquisition, self-study of foreign language and so on. The Language Situation in the Originally Czech Communities in South Ukraine (esp. In Crimea and in Novgorodkovka)

Abstract. The work is analysing the language situation in Czech communities in Crimea and Novgorodovka village. Fieldwork data from those communities and archive material studies present main reasons of migration from Czech lands to imperial Russia and development of Czech settlements in southern Russian regions. The description of Russian and Ukrainian influence on Czech language phenomena and transformations on all language levels is given, as well as some features of Northeast Bohemian preserved in spoken Czech of Crimean settlers.
