Tragic language of silence. Euripides' Alcestis at the limit of the tragic genre

Lukáš Černý Tragic language of silence Abstract The thesis deals with the transgression of the tragic genre in Euripides'Alcestis, which as a moment can be found in the last scene of the play where Alcestis is mute after her return from the underworld. I am not concerned with the play's trespassing towards the genres of comedy or satyr drama however, as numerous scholars are, but merely with its fulfilment and violation of the tragic form. To uphold tragedy as the genre most relevant to the play's interpretation, I represent the play as an ultimate development of the tragic irony but, most of all, I regard the tragic characteristics of the Alcestis herself. As a tragic character, Alcestis dies to save the polis (much more than to save her husband), she reestablishes the natural order of death and, thanks to her capacity for tragic speech, she also wins immortality of a certain sort. But when she is brought back from the dead as a mute passive object, as Victoria Wohl puts it, the purpose of her death, language, and therefore her existence itself is disclaimed. With this ending being worse than tragic, Alcestis finds herself at the brink of the tragic form. Tool for Collecting Statistical Data

This thesis deals with design and creation of the system for monitoring Internet applications. The system enables connecting available services and data obtained from these services to be stored in a database. It allows a user to choose and aggregate data. The system allows users to have all the data from different applications in one place. From the collected data, users are able to generate statistics based on the aggregation used.

The Analysis of Floorball Matches in School Conditions of the Second Year High School Students

Název : Analýza utkání ve florbale ve školních podmínkách žáků 2. ročníků středních škol. Analysis ofa floorball matches in a school conditions ofa second year-class students at a high schools. Cíl práce: Hlavním cílem práce bylo zjistit a následně porovnat úroveň jednotlivých utkání ve florbale žáků 2. ročníků na gymnáziích v Ústeckém kraji. Dalším cílem bylo popsat a zhodnotit postavení florbalu na zkoumaných středních školách. Na základě kvantitativní analýzy provedené z rozboru videozáznamu z utkání ve vyučovací jednotce tělesné výchovy bude určena úroveň florbalu na vybraných školách. Metoda: Výzkum byl proveden na třech gymnáziích v Ústeckém kraji. Použitá metoda pro sběr dat je zprostředkované pozorování pomocí videozáznamu. Jednalo se o pozorování pomocí kategoriálm'ho systému. Zaznamenávaní zjištěných informací bylo prováděno čárkovací metodou. Sledované kategorie byly hodnoceny. Získané informace byly dále zpracovány. Výsledky: Hlavní cíl práce byl splněn. Na základě kvantitativní analýzy z videozáznamu se interpretovala a porovnala úroveň jednotlivých utkání. Zhodnotilo se postavení florbalu na sledovaných školách. Abstract The project addresses the new build detached family house intended for single-family housing consisting of four persons. Situated on almost flat land, accessible from a local service road. The building has two floors. The building is covered with vegetation roofs and over parts of the first floor. The roof above the second floor is flat with the classical order of layers. The house is founded on footings of plain concrete. The grid system is building system Porotherm. On the first floor there is a kitchen, living room, pantry, dining room, toilet, bathroom, bedroom, study, utility room. The second floor has sanitary facilities and rooms for housing, walkable green roof.

This thesis focuses on the topic of food chilled compressor-lation. The work is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the theory of compressor cooling in the food service related regulations and standards. The second part focuses on the analysis of current cooling in selected food operation and design optimization of individual parameters. Part of the second part is also an economic evaluation optimization.

This work deals with main problems of wireless fidelity networks. In details it’s showing the terminology, used technical standards, network’s architecture and built-in security of wireless fidelity networks. For the question of the network’s security it’s handled regarding to VPN (Virtual Private Network) technology. Based on these theoretical assumptions there is new company’s network designed. This designed network offers combination of free wireless network with internet access and secured access to the private’s corporate LAN using VPN technology. Main aspect is to keep maximum available security, low costs and possibility to realize this design for already existing historical object.

This work deals with theoretical and practical basis for the creation of converter between LaTeX and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. It discusses the use of LaTeX and the Beamer class for presentations, programmatic creation of PowerPoint documents using PowerPoint Primary Interop Assemblies and PresentationML. It outlines the use of the scanners and parsers generators GPLEX and GPPG respectively. It deals with the characteristics of today's tools for document conversion. And finally deals with the particular pitfalls of the design, implementation and testing of the application for conversion of documents between LaTeX platform and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Emotional State Recognition and Classification Based on Speech Signal Analysis

The diploma thesis focuses on classification of emotions. Thesis deals about parameterization of sounds files by suprasegment and segment methods with regard for next used of these methods. Berlin database is used. This database includes many of sounds records with emotions. Parameterization creates files, which are divided to two parts. First part is used for training and second part is used for testing. Point of interest is self-organization network. Thesis includes Matlab´s program which can be used for parameterization of any database. Data are classified by self-organization network after parameterization. Results of hits rates are presented at the end of this diploma thesis.
