The role of inspection in forming the policy of increasing the quality of social services in the Czech Republic.
Pokorná, Jana ; Štegmannová, Ingrid (advisor) ; Procházková, Martina (referee)
This thesis deals with the role of inspection in shaping the policy of increasing the quality of social services in the Czech Republic from the perspective of the provider, the founder and policy makers. The policy of improving the quality intentions and direction, which should lead to the identification of existing service levels, remedy identified problems and improve performance at different levels. The first part deals with general and specific quality concept in the market sector and in social services. The evaluation systems and quality management known from the commercial sector are presented and subsequently applied to the evaluation of the quality of social services. The practical part of my attempt is to answer the question, how inspection affects improving of policy-making quality of social services. The main method used is a case studies based on semi-structured interviews. In conclusion, the outputs describing the role of inspection from the perspective of individual actors are presented. Modulation of HIV-1 Protease Activity
Pokorná, Jana ; Konvalinka, Jan (advisor) ; Šedo, Aleksi (referee) ; Ruml, Tomáš (referee)
HIV-1 protease plays a crucial role in the late state of the life cycle of HIV virus when it cleaves the viral polyprotein precursors into the structural and functional proteins. If it is effectively inhibited, HIV particles remain immature and noninfectious. The application of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) including protease inhibitors can reduce plasma HIV-1 levels below the detection limit in adherent patients and thus dramatically change their life expectancy. The clinical utility of the first inhibitors was limited by severe side effects, low bioavailability, high pill burdens, and rapid development of viral resistance under the selection pressure of HIV antiretrovirals. To overcome these difficulties, second-generation inhibitors were developed. Despite an indisputable improvement they brought to antiretroviral therapy, the development of new highly active HIV-1 protease inhibitors with optimal pharmacokinetic properties, higher metabolic stability, little off-target activity, and particularly, more favorable resistance profiles is still of high importance. This thesis provides an overview of anti-HIV- drugs including development of substituted metallacarboranes, a new class of potent, unusual, nonpeptidic HIV protease inhibitors with therapeutic potential. Next, the impact of...
Influence of insulation of a house in Slavice on expenses related to the operation of the property
Pokorná, Jana ; Čech, Josef (referee) ; Nykodýmová, Veronika (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with insulation of the house and it's costs. First part describes the energy performance of building, different methods of thermal insulation and types of thermal isolation. This thesis evaluates the influence of thermal insulation of residential building design for expenses associated with operating the property. This thesis uncludes thermal technical assessment of the condition of the house and then heat the assessment of the options for the thermal insulation on its economic return. In conclusion, the assessment of individual variants insulation is calculated as a simple payback period and the effect on price of this house.
Influence of process parameters in forward extrusion on the die loading
Pokorná, Jana ; Návrat, Tomáš (referee) ; Petruška, Jindřich (advisor)
One of the decisive factors of effective using of forward extrusion technology is lifetime of forming tools. Die is very loaded forming tool which loading and therewith related lifetime can be significantly affected by its construction. Construction also affected quality of extruded material. Finete element method allows to simulate this process and assess force which is needed to extrusion and state of stress in die and extruded material. Numerical simulation was realized in program ANSYS 11.0. Influence of reduction, angle of reduction, lenght of extruded material, rounding transition of die parts, extruded material and friction coefficient on die loading and emergence of cracks in extruded material was set in this diploma thesis. Results can be used to die construction optimalization.

Specification of requirements for a new information system for complaints and claims management
Brandejsová, Kristýna ; Švecová, Lenka (advisor) ; Pokorná, Jana (referee)
The aim of the thesis is the specification of user requirements for complaints and claims management in selected company providing financial services in the Czech Republic. The first section explains the basic theoretical background in the field of process management and information systems. It is also discussed the view of complaints and claims management from customer side. The second section describes the system of complaints and claims management in the company. Based on the analysis of the process the next section specifies the user requirements for a new information system and assesses expected benefits and potential risks of implementing a new information system.
Klima třídy a emoční inteligence žáků
Pokorná, Jana
For a comfortable stay at school and pupils' good academic performance, the climate in the classroom is very important. Three terms generally relate to a school classroom: environment, climate and atmosphere. Classroom climate, thereby this work also deals with, is a long-term issue, which may be dependent on pupils who attend the class and on their emotional intelligence (EQ). Emotional intelligence cannot be measured by any values; however, by means of tests it can be assessed whether individual EQ is positive, negative or neutral. Likewise, the classroom climate is not measured by real values, but based for example on a questionnaire survey it can be determined whether the climate is good, bad or falls somewhere in-between. In the theoretical part this thesis deals with emotional intelligence and classroom climate. The analysis of the views of individual authors, who deal with the issue was conducted, followed by synthesis and comparison of these views. In the practical part of the thesis the assumptions are determined, derived from the theoretical analysis. The evaluation of the results of the questionnaires investigating emotional intelligence of pupils and particular classrooms` climate is also included. The subject matter is monitored in the 1st and the 4th year of high school, in classes of two fields: engineering, which is attended mainly by boys, and social services, which is mostly attended by girls. The survey is conducted using a questionnaire survey and the evaluation of the questionnaires is done by simple statistical methods. The results are very interesting because based on the questionnaires it was found that the only assumption that was really confirmed is that there is a difference in emotional intelligence of pupils in the boys` and in the girls` classroom. Further assumptions, that the climate in the classroom is better when positive emotional intelligence of the pupils is higher and that the climate in the classroom is better in the 4th than in the 1st year, have not confirmed.
