Impact of type of housing on waste recycling - case study of the Písek region
VACKOVÁ, Jana
My thesis aims to clarify issues regarding waste sorting and the willingness of the population according to the type of their residence to sort waste. The theoretical part focuses on waste management in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries. The main objective was to describe the waste management in the Písek region. I concentrated on the description of particular technologies, especially recycling. Another chapter describes the relationship of the population to waste sorting, as human behaviour and lifestyle are the main causes of environmental damage. Recycling may be the right way to decrease the negative impact of human society on the environment. The practical part presents the results of the quantitative research conducted by means of a questionnaire. According to the respondents´ answers, I was able to conclude the differences of waste separation between the town and village. From the total of 247 respondents, 80 % sort the waste, 16 % sometimes sort it, and 4 % never do so. The categories of respondents differ in the amount of waste sorting, however, the difference is not statistically significant (Chi Squared test = 2,075; s. v. = 4; p = 0,722). Depending on the type of residence, the highest percentage 87 % - of waste sorting occurs in the housing estate category and zero percentage of respondents in this category never sorts. I was also concerned with the difference in the degree of sorting of individual commodities depending on the type of residence. It is significant only in the amount of sorting hazardous waste (Chi Squared test = 18,5; s. v. = 4; p = 0,001). In the case of other commodities, the type of residence does not affect the amount of their separation. It is obvious that the type of build-up area affects the way of life of the population and thus the amount of waste they produce. In general, the degree of diversity in respondents´ waste sorting depends on their education, experience, life priorities and public awareness of waste management.
Liability for harm caused by maladministration
Hubatová-Vacková, Jana ; Rajchl, Jiří (advisor) ; Millerová, Ivana (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the topic of liability for damage caused by the exercise of public authority through an incorrect official procedure. In particular, it deals with the individual provisions of Act No. 82/1998 Coll., emphasizing the rich case-law that has accumulated during the period of effectiveness of this legislation. The text is divided into eleven chapters. The first chapter focuses on the definition of the notion of liability as such, introduces the historical development of the liability of the state and the regional self-governing units for the damage they caused, and evaluates its nature. The second chapter builds on the previous chapter by defining other necessary conditions that must be met in order for the claimant to have the right to compensation, whether material or non-material damage. The third, fourth and fifth chapters present two main ways how the damage may occured. It defines the conditions that must be in place to make the decision illegal. The basis of the fourth chapter is the issue of maladministration, whose wide range is illustrated by examples of case-law in chapter fifth. Part of the text deals with the issue of exclusion of liability, where the exceptions from the liability of the state or territorial self-governing units are analyzed. The sixth chapter...

Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Author: Radka Landová Supervisor: Ing. Lucie Křivčíková Thesis title: The Effect of Quorum Sensing Molecules on The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration of Selected Antifugal Agents This work examines the effect of quorum sensing molecule of farnesol on the minimum inhibitory concentration of selected antifungal agents - Amfotericin B and Fluconasol - on Candida Albicans yeast. Standard strain collections and clinical isolates were provided by the Clinical Microbiology and Immunology Institute of the Teaching Hospital in Hradec Králové. Broth methodology was used for the testing in accordance with the standard M27-A2 protocol. Combinations of various concentrations of antifungal agents and farnesol were tested. Visual evaluation was carried out after 24 and 48 hours. The results of the experiments indicate that farnesol has an effect on the minimum inhibitory concentration of antifungal agents in most strains. At least minimum change of inhibitory concentration was observed in 33 of 34 tested strains, representing 97% of strains. In 62 % of strains moderate or medium changes were observed in the minimum inhibitory concentration, in 35.5 % of tested samples major changes were observed in the minimum inhibitory...

Poučová Michaela Evaluation of activity of potentional antifungal substances through the use of microdilution broth method II Diploma thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove Specialist in laboratory methods The main concern of this study was to test potential antifungal agents and evaluate their activities. During the experiment were tested two groups of compounds, derivatives pyrazin-2-carboxamide and salicylanilide. Using microdilution broth method were measured the activities of these substances against eight strains of filamentous fungi and yeasts, which included C. albicans, C. tropicalis, C. krusei, C. glabrata, T. beigelii, A. fumigatus, A. corymbifera and T. mentagrophytes. For determining the sensitivity of these strains of fungi against tested substances was prepared eleven different concentrations (500 mol∙l-1 , 250 mol∙l-1 , 125 mol∙l-1 , 62,5 mol∙l-1 , 31, 25 mol∙l-1 , 15,625 mol∙l-1 , 7,813 mol∙l-1 , 3,906 mol∙l-1 , 1,953 mol∙l-1 , 0,977 mol∙l-1 and 0,488 mol∙l-1 ), which let incubate with the fungi. Performing microdilution broth method was determined the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), whose value indicates the lowest concentration of test substance that causes visible suppression of growth of yeasts or filamentous fungi. Based on the...

Author: Marie Márová Supervisor: Ing. Lucie Křivčíková Title of diploma thesis: Evaluation of activity of potentional antibiotic substances through the use of microdilution broth method I Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Study program: Pharmacy The aim of our thesis was to evaluate activity of potentially antibiotic substances on eight bacteria strains. We have tested 42 substances, all of them were synthesized at the Department of Inorganic And Organic Chemistry of Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové. We have used the microdilution broth method for the evaluation. It is a standardize procedure for finding the minimal inhibitive concentration (MIC) of antibiotics (ATB) and thereby the quantitative sensitivity of bacteria to ATB. The principle of the method is the visual readout and evaluation of bacterial growth in wells of microtiter plate. The wells were filled with a live broth, an antibiotic substance and a microbe. The antibiotic effect of the substance was evaluated positive if it came to the visible inhibition of microbial growth in the well. We have tested derivative of sulphonamides and salicylanilides. The substances were divided into 13 groups according to their structure. We have recorded the highest effect by derivatives N-phenyl-2-hydroxybenzamide,...
