Localisation of Version D of "The Poema Morale" based on "The Linguistic Atlas of Early Middle English"

The present MA thesis presents an analysis of version D of the Early Middle English verse sermon known as the Poema Morale. The objectives of the study were to verify the present localisation of D in Western Kent and clarify its relations to two more copies of the same text (T and M). The research consistsed in analysing the language of the text it terms of its dialect and distinguishing between different layers of copying, where possible. The analysis was performed using the electronic tool Linguistic Atlas of Early Middle English, specific procedures included mainly analyses of maps showing the distribution of dialectal features found in D, which were complemented by discussions of forms which D shares with other Kentish texts or versions T and M. The aim of these discussions was the identification of words coming from the exemplar. Evidence supporting the localisation of D in Kent as well as forms presumably taken from the archetype were presented and put in the context of the results of previous studies.
Knowledge of substitutes of salt in food

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of salt and possibility of its replacement in food. The chosen is topical because healthy nutrition is one of current modern trends. Table salt is an entire part of a diet of every person. As the compound of two biogenic elements - sodium and chlorine - it has unsubstitutable function in human body. However, an increased intake of sodium can be associated with health risks, especially hypertension. The World Health Organization recommends a maximum daily intake of salt 5 g. According to current statistics, nevertheless the salt intake in the Czech republic is up to three times higher. Therefore, it is appropriate to reduce the consumption of salt and attempt to its replacement without cutting down the taste of food. One of the goals of this thesis was find out possibilities of replacing the salt and what is their availability. The practical part deals with the results of survey, within these was examined the awareness of salt and the posibility of its replacement among different group of our population (students, pedagogical workers, heads of school canteens). Contribution of Sociology to the Pastoral Work with Married Couples and Families

Contribution of the Sociology to the Pastoral Work with Married Couples and Families Subject of this thesis is the question of pastoral work in the area of present marriage and family in the Czech Republic. The concrete aim of this thesis was to find out if the results of sociological researches dealing with the problematics of marriage and family can contribute to improving of the pastoral work in the area of marriage and family. The key problems were chosen: refusing of the institution of marriage, causes and consequences of this phenomenon, non-married cohabitation, divorce rate, natality, problematics of unmarried mothers, crisis of parental roles, same-sex cohabitation. The results and evaluation of the sociological researches related to the given problems are presented in the individual chapters. In each chapter, there is also the attitude of the Church to each given problem and the short recommendation how to take advantage of the presented material in the pastoral work. Linguistic aspects of translating informal/slang expressions in American TV series subtitles

The present study treats the problem of translating American slang and informal vocabulary into Czech. Its aim is to explain why this kind of vocabulary can be difficult to translate and to compare two different approaches to the task. It works with material excerpted from the subtitles of an American TV series, the official and the unofficial version of its translation. The experimental part brings information on the incidence of different types of mistakes and it identifies the main tendencies of the translators in dealing with various problems. The final part characterizes the strategies of individual translators, commenting on their strong and weak points.
The role of the liturgy of the Mass in the pastoration of families

In my bachelor thesis, I tried to elucidate what is the role of the liturgy in the education of pre-school children in Christian families. I paid attention especially to participation of children in messes. I was searching the answer for those questions: why the participation of children in liturgy is advisable, what does the Church write about this problem in some documents and directives, and how to realize this very important part of Christian education of children. I elaborated the Church directives determining the participation of children in liturgy so that they could be used in practice as often as possible. I paid special attention to the problematics of preparation of children for the liturgy. I mean the direct preparation as well as the indirect preparation which helps a child to be prepared as human. It is the matter of parents to introduce their children in liturgy. The parents promise it when they have their child or children baptized. The family background is the first and the most important place for the development and formation of child's faith. Evaluation of noise of ventilation outlet for a passenger car cabine

The thesis deals with issues of noise ventilation outlets in a passenger car. There is a description of the noise reduction in the acoustic background, optimizing experimental measurement methodology and familiarization with measuring equipment. The next step includes measuring of individual outlet options, results post-processing and comparison of tested alternatives. Based on these results the best variants are chosen and measures for decreasing noise in the ventilation outlets are proposed.

My master thesis called Life of Modest Mussorgsky desert upon a great personality of this famouf russian composer. I write also about music situation in Russia, especially in Saint Petersburg. I immerse myself to his biography and in my work I tried to show every fundamental elements of his genius. In two chapters I focus also on some of his pieces, worldwide very popular in nowadays. In my work I wanted to capture the evolution of music style in Mussorgsky´s creation too.
