ROS framework and its use in regard to actuation
Starý, Vojtěch ; Dobrovský, Ladislav (referee) ; Hůlka, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the ROS framework and its use. ROS software is an operating system used to control robots. The essence of this work is a brief description of the ROS framework, the process of creating and commissioning your own robot and testing the robot on defined tasks. The first task is to map the simulated environment and the second is autonomous navigation in the simulated environment. The middle part deals with drives.
Reasons and consequences of round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) invasion into the inland waters of Europe and North America
Starý, Vojtěch ; Čech, Martin (advisor) ; Vukićová, Jasna (referee)
Since the end of 1980s there is an ongoing massive invasion of fish from the family Gobiidae. The most widespread and aggressive of these fish is round goby (Neogobius melanostomus). Its natural habitat is area around Black and Caspian Seas, but nowadays it is already common in most of the European rivers, Baltic Sea and in the system of the North American Great Lakes. The main reason of the spreading is transport of ballast water from its natural habitat. The success of its invasion is due to the high tolerance to various factors like temperature, salinity, amount of oxygen in water, food sources and bottom substrates. Presence of the round goby in newly invaded rivers is beneficial for fish-eating predators. On the other hand competitors are highly disadvantaged as they lose in the fight with round goby over food, shelters and places for spawning and therefore, they are forced to live in less suitable habitats which leads to the decrease of their abundance. In recently colonized areas the round goby has much higher abundance than in its original habitats. The highest abundance is in the North America, where the round goby is causing the most noticeable change in the ecosystem. For this reason it is extensively studied mainly in the North America. ADHESION OF BIOCOMPATIBLE TiNb COATING
Kolegar, T. ; Matoušek, M. ; Vilémová, Monika ; Starý, V.
Preparation of a coating with a high quality requires good adhesion of the film to the substrate. The paper deals with the adhesion of biocompatible TiNb coating with different base materials. Several materials such as titanium CP grade 2, titanium alloys Ti6Al4V and stainless steel AISI 316L were measured. Testing samples were made in the shape of small discs. Those samples were coated with a TiNb layer by using the PVD method (magnetron sputtering). Onto the measured layer of TiNb an assistant cylinder was stuck using a high strength epoxy adhesive E1100S. The sample with the assistant cylinder was fixed into a special fixture and the whole assembly underwent pull-off testing for adhesion. The main result of this experiment was determining the strength needed to peel the layer and morphology and size of the breakaway. As a result, we will be able to determine the best base material and conditions where the coating will be remain intact with the base material.
Regulation of the information transfer in selected political systems by comparing main characteristics of regulatory authorities
Starý, Vladislav ; Kuba, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Gerloch, Aleš (referee)
The thesis solves the modern state of media power across selected political systems. The main idea is how the control of media content and the authorities of regulators are established inside the legal conception. Also, the question is, whether such a system of regulation is currently sufficient and whether the situation has come into a state where the media ceased to function as a control element of democracy and took on a determinant and powerful role. The first part of the thesis is a theoretical one, in which the basic concepts and also the most important sources on which the research is based on are presented. The second part is a practical one and it presents the systems themselves including their main characteristics. The mechanism of control in each country is described in more detail, and the hypothesis is presented together with the procedure leading to its evaluation. The hypothesis is confirmed in the last part of the thesis and the results are compared using information from the analysis. The paper presents a discussion of the detected state of media power at the end and also offers possible ways and solutions.

Title: Relaxation, especially dielectric behaviour of polymer composites and liquid crystalline polymers Author: Milan Neubert Department: Department of Macromolecular Physics Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Jan Nedbal, CSc., Department of Macromolecular Physics Abstract: The subject of the work was to study the relaxation electrical properties of polymer composites and liquid crystalline polymers. Work focused on till now not deeply explored new polymeric materials - on semi-aromatic poly (ester amides) and on composites of poly(vinyl alcohol) with polyaniline. In the case of poly(ester amides), we had three series with different aromatic groups and different length of the aliphatic chain, in the case of composite materials, we studied composites prepared as cryogels. Basic experimental method was dielectric spectroscopy, supplemented by approaches of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. A noncontact measuring method based on eddy currents was newly developed, that is able to provide information about both the conductivity and permittivity of samples, and a measuring cell was constructed, later used to perform part of the experimental work. Keywords: permittivity, conductivity, dielectric spectroscopy, liquid crystalline polymers, conducting polymer composites
Skicross start analysis
Starý, Vít ; Matošková, Petra (advisor) ; Pravečková, Petra (referee)
Title: Skicross start analysis Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe and evaluate the activity of muscles of upper body during skicross start and afterwards compare sides to find out, how is that movement symmetric or asymmetric. Methods: The diploma thesis is empiric-theoretic about case study. We used method of analysis and a method of comparison. For analysing the muscles activity, we used method of electromyography. We used comparison when comparing the activity of muscles on right and left sides. Results: After analysis of result we can declare the skicross start analysis is sym-metrical movement. Study of metal- tungsten oxide model system by methods of electron spectroscopy and diffraction
Polášek, Jan ; Mašek, Karel (advisor) ; Starý, Vladimír (referee)
In the present thesis structure, morphology, chemical and electronic properties of the Pt - Au/tungsten oxide model system were investigated by means of RHEED, AFM and PES. The epitaxial tungsten oxide thin films were prepared by oxidation of W(110) single-crystal surface using a RF oxygen plasma source followed by thermal annealing. Gold and Platinum were deposited "in-situ" by evaporation. Gold or platinum deposition led to the growth of oriented particles having (111) epitaxial plane as well as to the growth of polycrystalline phase. Platinum encapsulation was proved by CO adsorption observed by SRPES. Deposition of the second metal led to the formation of core - shell bimetallic clusters. Detail structure of the bimetallic system depends on the order of deposited metals and the substrate temperature. Thermal stability of the system was investigated by heating up to 600 řC.
Impact of changes in the city centre of Ústí nad Labem on the traffic accident
Starý, Vojtěch ; Pospíšilová, Lucie (referee) ; Temelová, Jana (advisor)
Impact of changes in the city centre of Ústí nad Labem on the traffic accident Abstract The objective of this paper is to determine the influence of change of the Ústí nad Labem city center on the road traffic safety. In the first part of the paper the modern modifications of communications in the city centers for the purpose of better safety for the road traffic participants are generally characterized. Further, the paper concerns with revitalization in the centre of Ústí nad Labem. The city centre is represented by three streets (Masarykova, Velká Hradební and Hrnčířská) which have been significantly changed during past seven years. The influence of these changes is compared to the stats of accident frequency and development of traffic intensity in individual streets. The Head of traffic police in Ústí nad Labem, project engineers and the Head of Traffic Department of the municipal government were interviewed to express their opinions on the problems. The result of the paper is an evaluation whether the revitalization of the city center has contributed to better traffic safety.
