Zemanová, Veronika ; Kotrusová, Miriam (advisor) ; Nekolová, Markéta (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with comparison of active employment policy in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. I have chosen these countries because despite their similar socio- demographic conditions and common historical, economic and cultural background, we can observe many differences in unemployment between them since the introduction of a market economy. While the Czech Republic ranks among European countries with average unemployment rate, Slovakia has one of the highest unemployment rate in EU. In the first part I focus on unemployment in general, employment policy and its elements, meanings and targets of active employment policy. Further, using comparison of the average unemployment rate in both countries, I describe unemployment situation in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. A whole chapter is focused on specifications of five basic risk groups on the labor market as a criterion of measure analysis of active employment policy. Definition of the risk groups' situation on the labor market is based on average (un)employment rate of each single group. Individual instruments of active employment policy I describe from the perspective of disadvantaged groups of job seekers and as a result came up a chart where the instruments of active employment policy are divided by belonging to the certain...

The thesis "Analysis of the influence of demographic development on employment and employment policy of elderly people in the Czech republic" focuses on the specific position of elderly people in the labour market. The aim of the thesis is to determine the main obstacles preventing greater involvement of elderly people in the labour market in the Czech Republic, and the direction employment policy should take in order to achieve greater efficiency. The basic hypothesis of the thesis is the idea that the implementation of an active employment policy in the Czech Republic is not effective enough in solving the unemployment issues of the elderly. Using four theoretical frameworks, the main deficiencies of the currently implemented employment policy with respect to elderly people and the causes thereof are identified. Theoretical foundations are also applied in discussing possible solutions to the...

Sadílková, Petra ; Čabanová, Bohumila (advisor) ; Nekolová, Markéta (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the situation of elderly people in the labour market. Czech population is aging. Life expectancy is increasing and the number of older people grows. This fact influences labour market and overall development of society. In order to continue functioning of social system and in order to maintain the current standard of living of the elderly population, it is necessary to participate in the labour market for a longer time. Elderly people do not represent an interesting and promising workforce for companies in many ways. Employers do not appreciate the quality and potential of seniors and prefer younger workers. Elderly people are persons of pre-retirement age who are ranked as a risk group in the labour market, threatened by unemployment. This thesis defines barriers limiting larger economic activity of elderly people. The main goal is to identify existing instruments to combat shortages of older people. The thesis proposes the measures to encourage elderly people's involvement in the labour market, and opportunities to increase their human capital. The research results indicate that key factors for long working life are advanced training and development of qualification and skills. These actions enable the extension of economic activity, which is a necessity nowadays.
