Houšková, Radomíra ; Novák, Daniel (advisor) ; Švejda, Gabriel (referee) ; Zlámal, Jiří (referee)
SUMMARY: The objective of this dissertation is to map, analyse and assess the role of modern information and communication technologies in the field of media education within the initial training and lifelong professional education provided by the police training colleges in the Czech Republic. Media literacy is a part of core competency of each individual in the current societal epoch, which is defined by the communication explosion. The issues of media education are pursued by media pedagogy. The work submitted analyses the scope of media education elements within the individual teaching subjects which are parts of police educational programmes approved by the Police Presidium of the Czech Republic. The research part of the thesis focuses on assessing the media literacy level of Czech police officers. The method of questionnaire investigation of the students of the initial professional training course provided by the police training colleges in the Czech Republic was used for the purpose of the research investigation. Subsequent relevant information was obtained through an unstructured interview with a senior official of the Police Presidium of the Czech Republic. The outcome of the dissertation is characterised by the detailed statistical description of the acquired data and the concluding evaluation of...
Magnetic resonance imaging of the respiratory and postural function of the diaphragm
Rychnovský, Tomáš ; Kučera, Miroslav (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee) ; Novák, Daniel (referee)
Objective: The goal of the thesis was to objectify changes of the diaphragm motion and shape in a different tasks using dynamic MRI in volunteers with pathological structural finding of the spine and the control group. Methods: Two groups of volunteers were made, those without pathological finding (n=16) and with structural pathological finding of the spine (n=17). We analyzed diaphragm function in three different tasks in all the volunteers during 1) primary breathing, 2) breathing in the course of lower extremities flexion against resistance and 3) holding the breath in the course of lower extremities flexion against resistance. Diaphragm activity was analyzed using static a dynamic parameters. For the first time ever was used postural and respiratory trace, which were separated from dynamic MRI recording. The thesis analyses frequency and amplitude of the respiratory and postural activity (independent on breathing) and their relationship. Furthermore the thesis evaluates breathe in and breathe out rotation, diaphragm excursion magnitude, inclination of the diaphragm, its height in thorax and also diaphragm motion within its different portion. Results: Diaphragm respiratory and postural changes are slower, bigger in size and better balanced in volunteers group without pathological spinal finding....

Testing the postural stabilization of the movement system and evaluating the dysfunction of the postural cybernetic of the movement system by a new method postural somatooscillography Abstract: Introduction: For the objectification of the structural damages in the musculoskeletal system there are many research methods and imaging techniques. For the investigation of the stabilization of the locomotion system a simple, reliable method for the clinical and instrumental evaluation of the pain-body is missing so far. These methods probably would include the cause of the dysfunction of the stabilizing mechanisms in vertically integrated persons. Therefore I introduce a Postural Somatooscillography in this work, which is a new kind of posturography on a Posturomed surface that can be unstable in a metered way. Second, a new technique of "provocation test" (Step/Stand) is introduced here. In this test, standardized claims to the increased postural stability and so on the nature of the cooperation of the intersegmental muscles and the superficial polysegmental muscles are made evident. Either caused by a good segmental stabilizing a good economic posture, without pain, or non- economic activation of polysegmental muscles caused postural related pain in these congested superficial muscles. Objectives: My aim is the...
Problems of Privacy and Personal Data Protection in EU Law
Novák, Daniel ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Scheu, Harald Christian (referee)
The concept of privacy - as a legal category - was expressed by S. D. Warren and L. D. Brandeis in his article "The Right to Privacy" published in the Harvard Law Review in 1890. We sometimes hear voices that privacy should not be a separate object of legal protection. It has been criticized that the definition of privacy is boundless, because many offences affect the privacy and they have no specific common denominator. However, the notion of privacy can be structured. The core of the text refers to the right of privacy within the meaning of information, namely within the European Union. The Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms will increase its importance in EU law after the Lisbon revision. Under Article 6, paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Treaty on European Union as amended by the Lisbon Treaty, the Union shall accede to this Convention. The Court of Justice of the European Union recognizes judicial opinions of the European Court of Human Rights, which has been interpreting the right to privacy broadly. The Court of Justice of the European Union enshrined the protection of privacy in the general principles of EU law and it creates its own case law on this issue. Art. 6, paragraph 1 TEU, as amended by the Lisbon Treaty states that the Union recognizes the rights, freedoms and...
Settlers of Catan
Novák, Daniel ; Hric, Jan (advisor) ; Pilát, Martin (referee)
In this thesis, we work on implementation of the board game Settlers of Ca- tan and artifitial intelligence playing this game. The artificial intelligence is based on a combination of expectimax and reinforcement learning. Using reinforcement learning, we have been able to develop an agent who can play reasonably. We ma- naged to improve the policy learned by reinforcement learning using expectimax. The resulting agent is able to win aganist average human player.
Li-Fi, use of light and LED to communicate between luminaires and user
Ludányi, Róbert ; Novák, Daniel (referee) ; Škoda, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the use of light and LEDs for communication between the light and the user. In the introduction, the principles of VLC, which Li-Fi is part of, are described. The work also contains issues on the topics of Li-Fi, such as methods of modulation of carrier signals for data transmission, comparisons between other wireless communications, individual elements of optical frontends, current versions of Li-Fi and other possible uses of this technology. The work also contains the designing of a system working on the principle of Li-Fi.
