Transformation of addictive behavior in selected illegal drug users due to the COV-19 pandemic
Kroupová, Lucie ; Machovcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Váchová, Alena (referee)
The diploma thesis was created with the aim of mapping the effect of the cov-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown on the use of illegal substances among selected respondents. It was possible to compare the situation in detail with the pre-Covid period, because the respondents had already collaborated in the previous bachelor's thesis. It is a qualitative research in which thematic analysis is applied as a research method. The theoretical part of the thesis elaborates addiction and addictive behavior, the developmental point of view, relevant theories of pathological behavior in the context of drug addiction, the development of the cov-19 pandemic and drug policy in the Czech Republic, and the treatment and cessation of addiction. The research of the practical part is based on the statements of 10 participants of a semi-structured interview. The individual parts consist of a medallion of the respondents (information about the respondents from the previous bachelor's thesis), general information, the impact of the cov-19 pandemic on employment and education, partner and family relationships during the pandemic, free time and interests of the participants, addictive substances in the context of the cov-19 pandemic 19 and mental state during the cov-19 pandemic. The primary research idea was whether...
Home education from the perspective of primary school teachers and principals
Koňařík, Martin ; Machovcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Šťastný, Vít (referee)
Thesis abstract Home education from the point of view of primary school teachers and principals Created by: Martin Koňařík, July 9, 2023 The diploma thesis explores homeschooling (known as individual education according to Czech laws). The theoretical part defines the basic concepts, describes the elements of this educational reality and the mutual relations between them. It briefly deals with the development of home education and the way of its legislative anchoring in the Czech Republic. It mentions the reasons why parents choose this alternative and describes what educational styles they use when teaching their children. Attention is focused mainly on index schools, in which homeschoolers must be enrolled by law. These schools work with pupils in individual education in different ways, have different requirements for them, differ from each other in the number of pupils, years of experience with them and the level of their support. This can consist of frequent online contact, regular consultations, sending educational materials or only a compulsory examination once every six months. The practical part describes the preparation, progress and results of an extensive questionnaire survey among principals and teachers of schools that are dedicated to pupils in individual education. The research reveals, among...
The concept of the ideal of beauty in relation to physical health among students of multi-year gymnasium
Dušková, Anna ; Machovcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kočí, Jana (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of beauty ideal in relation to physical health among students of multi-year gymnasium. The aim is to understand how the girls of a given gymnasium perceive this issue and in what context this circumstance affects them. Another aim is to find out the awareness of school representatives and their understanding of girls with self- image or eating disorders. The theoretical part focuses on the adolescent period in different areas from nutrition through body image to anorexia nervosa. The empirical part of the thesis uses qualitative research and a case study design. Group discussion was used as a method of data collection, and two discussions were held. One involved discussion with the girls and the other with school representatives. Thus, the research sample represents girls of a multi-year gymnasium, specifically thirds and fourths classes (ranging in age from 13-15 years) and representatives of the school. The research also included an analysis of school documents such as the School Curriculum and the Annual Report for the last school year. The data collected was then analyzed using open coding, and three categories were evaluated. The research shows that the female students have a rational view of a healthy and beautiful body, but their own perception of...
Analysis of relationships in the framework of well-being at students of the Faculty of Education
Vilikus, Roman ; Kočí, Jana (advisor) ; Machovcová, Kateřina (referee)
The aim of the presented diploma thesis was to bring this issue of well-being and life satisfaction closer to the selected group of respondents. The goal of the analytical part was to find out to what extent different relationships of students affect their well-being, how they affect their social and psychological well-being, both by subjective evaluation of well-being and by evaluation of their selected basic building blocks. These connections were examined among students of mainly third-year pedagogical fields in their bachelor's studies at the Faculty of Pedagogy of Charles University in Prague. We also found out whether gender, age and financial situation have an effect on the personal well-being and life satisfaction of the approached students. We also wanted to monitor the connection/correlation between life satisfaction and its levels and psychological well-being and its dimensions.
Motivation of students of the selected grammar school for truancy
Slámová, Magdaléna ; Machovcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Richterová, Magdalena (referee)
My work focuses on students' motives for truancy, which Salavcová (2017) explains as the unexcused absence of a primary or secondary school student from class. Kyriacou (2004) considers this phenomenon as crucial due to the possibility of indicating the proper functioning of the educational system. At the core of the theoretical part are the causes of this pathological phenomenon, which Thambirajah a col. (2008) categorizes into several categories such as those on the side of the student, on the side of the family, on the side of the peers, on the side of the school and cases where the student is in a difficult life situation. Čapek (2014) sees the most common causes in fear of written tests, disinterest in school, bullying. I used this breakdown of causes in the subsequent practical part, which was conducted as qualitative research in the form of a semi-structured interview with seven students from a selected high school, an educational counsellor and a prevention methodologist. In the analysis of the interviews, I focused mainly on the probands' motivation for truancy and the factors that ended their truancy. The study resulted in an extended model of the causes of truancy that almost matched the most common factors mentioned by Čapek (2014), except for the factor of bullying. In my case, these were...
Manipulation techniques in multi-level marketing
Staňková, Tereza ; Kollerová, Lenka (advisor) ; Machovcová, Kateřina (referee)
The thesis focuses on psychological manipulation used in recruitment in multi-level marketing companies. Despite the fact that multi-level marketing companies often use unethical practices and pose (not only) a financial risk, the number of their members has been growing steadily in the Czech Republic. They are particularly dangerous to vulnerable groups, including mothers on parental leave, the unemployed and students. However, the topic has not yet been sufficiently researched and thus lacks the theoretical foundation for developing a strategy to prevent the harmful effects of multi-level marketing. The aim of the thesis is to describe the recruitment process of multi-level marketing companies that operate in the Czech Republic, as well as the manipulation techniques they use. In order to meet the aim of the thesis, the participant observation method was used to observe the recruitment process of three selected multi-level marketing companies - Amway, Herbalife and Nu Skin. In addition to the observation, documents provided by the companies were collected. The results presented in this thesis can serve as a basis for educational practice to raise awareness of the issue of psychological manipulation in multi-level marketing companies and to design prevention strategies. The thesis is structured...
