Anti-System Activism in the Czech Republic: Radicalization Pathways and the Quest for Significance
Mališ, Josef ; Kocmanová, Markéta (advisor) ; Ludvík, Jan (referee)
The Czech Republic has seen a multitude of anti-system protests in recent years, as well as a surge of online dissemination of disinformation, misinformation and conspiracy theories. The Covid-19 pandemic and Russia's military invasion in Ukraine, as well as the consequences of these events, have generated deep dissatisfaction among thousands of people across the country. At the same time, activities directed primarily against the current Czech government in light of these events have attracted considerable attention from local and international media. However, the motivations of individuals who have been involved in such activities have not been explored in-depth in an academic environment in order to understand what exactly drives people to anti- system activism in the Czech Republic. The present study seeks to fill this research gap and reveals the motivations and the underlying psychological factors that generate this type of behavior. In order to do so, the Significance Quest Theory proposed by Kruglanski and colleagues is applied to primary qualitative data collected between the years 2022 and 2023 from sample population consisting of protest organizers and participants, while a thematic analysis of the data is conducted to generate conclusions pertaining to the phenomenon of radicalization...

The final form of the protocol has been approved by the members of the League Football Association and of FK Mladá Boleslav. The created structure of the protocol will serve as a template for other...
Surfel-cloud rendering
Vozár, Jaroslav ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor) ; Kolomazník, Jan (referee)
Rendering optimization is very important, especially for low-power and high-demand devices such as AR/VR headsets, where a scene has to be rendered for each eye at a high frame rate and with low latency. Many algorithms have been created for this problem, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. This project firstly compared existing rendering optimization techniques, mostly focusing on the Level of Detail approach. Then, based on specific needs, the best suited algorithm was selected and implemented. The implementation process also involved several improvements and adjustments.
Updated summary of Tertiary relics in the vicinity of Pilsen
Trnka, Jan ; Sakala, Jakub (advisor) ; Pšenička, Josef (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to consolidate the knowledge from previous research on Tertiary relics in the vicinity of Pilsen, especially in the districts of Pilsen-City and Pilsen-North. Emphasis is placed mainly on sites that are important in terms of their extent or have provided identifiable samples of plant macrofossils or pollen in the past. In particular, these are the sites Dobříč/Jarov, Ejpovice/Kyšice and Horní Bříza - Modrý kříž. To a lesser extent, these are summaries of the manifestations of volcanism in the defined area. The thesis will be a possible starting point for a follow-up thesis, in which the student will process new findings of plant macrofossils from his own field research. Its further content will be a critical comparison of the individual reconstructions of the palaeochannel network and the determination of the approximate flow direction both for individual relics and the determination of the dominant drainage direction of the entire area.
Data Analysis on the Position of Public Transport Vehicles: A Case Study of Most and Litvínov
Zátka, Josef ; Lysák, Jakub (advisor) ; Svoboda, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with ex post (i.e. not real time) analysis of data on the position of public transport vehicles. The aim of the work is to design and implement spatio-temporal analyses of this data that will be practically applicable to real public transport networks. Their functionality is verified on data from public transport in the towns of Most and Litvínov, recorded during October 2023. The data is a point record with information about the location of the vehicle, the time and date of recording, the line number, the final stop, the last passed stop, the azimuth and speed of the vehicle movement and its delay. A total of 5 analyses are proposed. The first two analyses deal with the possibilities of effective control of the input data, within them algorithms for positional and attribute control of data are presented. The third analysis monitors and evaluates the spatiotemporal differentiation of delays, focusing on trends in the distribution of delays along the routes of individual lines over time of day and over longer time scales. The fourth analysis looks at the occurrence of delays at individual stops. The final analysis studies the reliability of transfers between public transport links at interchanges. The proposed methods were implemented through scripts written in the Python...

Influence of some microbiogenic elements on carotenogenic yeasts
Pulkrábek, Josef ; Holub, Jiří (referee) ; Obračaj, Jan (advisor)
Carotenogenic yeasts of the genus Rhodotorula are well known for their production of a variety of economically valuable and otherwise difficult to produce compounds such as fatty acids, carotenoids, ergosterol, and ubiquinone. This study investigates the effect of the addition of select microbiogenic elements (Fe, Se, I) and their combinations into mineral cultivation media on the production of the mentioned valuable metabolic products and the rate of element sorption into the biomass of the strains of Rhodotorula mucilaginosa, Rhodotorula kratochvilovae, and Rhodotorula toruloides. Additionally, the sorption of zinc oxide, ferrous fumarate, and selenomethionine into previously cultivated biomass was measured with sorption times of 2 and 24 hours. Fatty acid content was determined using GC-FID, while carotenoids, ergosterol, and ubiquinone were analyzed using HPLC-DAD, with element content being quantified using ICP-OES and IC. With a few exceptions, the production of metabolic products was decreased with the addition of elements into the media and inversely correlated with their concentration. Higher concentrations generally showed greater absolute amounts of sorbed elements but lower relative amounts, which, combined with reduced production of metabolic products shows that the media are not ideal for the cultivation of the given species. The elemental contents were such that biomass supplemented with individually sorbed elements would vaguely align with ESFA dietary reference values, but cultivation in media with a mixture of added elements could result in the biomass containing either insufficient iron or excessively high levels of selenium. Sorption levels were relatively low (5 to 22 % for iron and 0.5 to 2.5 % for selenium). Indicating that cultivation in media with lower concentrations of elemental additives is a promising area for future research.
Testing of sliding coatings for space applications
Velička, Jan ; Pouzar, Josef (referee) ; Košťál, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with sliding coatings for use in space applications. In the experimental part, the number of cycles to wear for a molybdenum disulfide based coating was investigated. This coating was deposited on a beryllium copper CuBe substrate. The coating was tested for its possible application to bolt threads. The coefficient of friction of all samples was measured on a tribometer in an atmospheric environment. The specimens were loaded with a normal force of 35 N during the measurement. The number of cycles to wear was compared for specimens differing in coating time. The number of cycles was found to be similar for lower coating times. Then the number of cycles to wear started to increase with the coating time. From the findings, it can be said that increasing the coating time increases the coating life. Such a coating is suitable for the protection of bolts against galling.
The production of a component of a lever lock
Hráček, Josef ; Řiháček, Jan (referee) ; Peterková, Eva (advisor)
The master‘s thesis deals with the suggestion of the production of a component of a lever closure, which is used as a quick-clamping mechanism. The part is made of low-carbon steel DC01 in the form of a sheet with a thickness of 1.5 mm and an annual production of 200,000 pcs. The individual production methods were chosen using a progressive combined tool that combines cutting and bending. After evaluating the technology, determining the developed shape of the part and choosing its location on the line was chosen a semi-finished product in the form of metal coils sheet. After determining the production procedure, which consists of four steps, technological, construction and control calculations were carried out on the basis of which the tool was constructed. An eccentric press LEN 63 C was chosen as a suitable machine for production. A feed line marked ARPL RAL 150 was also chosen for production.
