Comparison of B. Němcová's and K. J. Erben's Fairy Tales with Chinese Fairy Tales

The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to compare B. Němcová's and K. J. Erben's fairy tales with Chinese fairy tales. After a general genre description of a fairy tale the author has paid attention to the analysis of chosen magic fairy tales of the both national literatures. In addition to the identical features, the comparison has shown a number of discrepancies which were caused by cultural differences.

The work is focused mainly on the decay of "old bourgeois families" as well as on the and on the representatives of bourgeois intelligentsia at the beginning of the 20th century. The analysis of authentic Czech Society is based on the novels: Stará rodina, Dědicové, Vykoupení and Alma mater.

Havlíček Borovský through his selected works. The author has concentrated her attention on the specific periods of Havlicek's life that have influenced his political views. Publicism of the last period of the totalitarism (Rudé právo in 1989)

Publicism of the last period of the totalitarism (Rudé právo in 1989) The theme of the thesis is based on political journalism of the last period of the totalitarism in Czechoslovakia in 1989. The leading communist daily, Rudé právo 1989 is used as the main source of the analysis. The work is divided into two parts. The first part is related to the short historical review of the communism era in Czechoslovakia since the so called Victorious February in 1948 till 1988, when the first anti-government demonstrations occurred. The second part is focused on the critical historical moments in 1989 ("Palach Week" in January 1989, petition "A Few Sentences" in July 1989, anti-government protests in August and October 1989, the collapse of the communism regime in November caused by the Velvet Revolution, the unanimous vote by the Federal Assembly). Meanwhile there is a following practical part. Its main purpose is interpretation and analysis of the articles in order to show examples of the ideological influence of the language.

Natálija Moutvicová Humour in Karel Poláček's Proses This work presents the works of one of the most popular czech writer and journalist Karel Poláček in the backround of his tragic life. The author's works devide to journalistic works, literary works and works for film and theater. This work contents analysis of humour as a specific kind of comics in Karel Poláček's writings. The term "humour" is defined by the theory of Henri Bergson,Vladimír Borecký and others. Particularly detailed is engaged in his short stories and supreme humorous novels. This work compares two author's creative periods and studies the development of his humour. It focuses to themes, motives, typical characters and the distinctive style artistic practices of author. Poláček's humour is directed against cliché and phrases. This work tries to compare the Poláček's humour with humour in the works of other czech authors from twentieth century.
Eliška Krásnohorská and her struggle for women's emancipation

The bachelor dissertation deals with Eliška Krásnohorská, a well-known personality of Czech literal, cultural and social life in the second half of the 19th century, mainly with her fight for women's equal rights. Krásnohorská showed how to attain equal rights for women in her articles published in the journal Ţenské listy. The dissertation follows several basic issues of this theme: the requirement of higher education for women, economic and social aspects of emancipation movement and the possibilities how to attain economic independence of women. The author characterizes Eliška Krásnohorská, the wide range of her interests and activities of this personality. The main aim of the work is the acknowledgement of Krásnohorská's contribution to Czech emancipation movement, based mainly on the study of her articles in Ţenské listy. Eliška Krásnohorská's memoirs and correspondence were important sources of the information on her life and attitudes.
Quality of Life in Children with Epilepsy

This the Bachelor work deals with the life quality of children with epilepsy. In the theoretical part I mention the very illness of epilepsy its diagnostics and treatment. Further I focus on the quality of life from the general point of view and the quality of life in relation to the children with epilepsy as well. In the empirical part I survey with the helps of questionnaires how the children with epilepsy experience thein illness. eventually I analyse the acquired data.
Selected problems of literary translation from Turkish to Czech

Cílem této diplomová práce bylo odhalit jevy, které při překládání současné umělecké literatury vyplývají z odlišnosti dvou jazykových systémů i reálií. Na základě analýzy tureckého literárního textu a jeho českého překladu byly pozorovány jazykové jevy a jejich korespondence mezi oběma jazyky, které byly posléze ohodnoceny z hlediska funkčního přístupu v překladu. Předmětem analýzy se stal překlad povídky "Frau Eva ya da karş komşu - Frau Eva aneb sousedka od vedle" předčasně zesnulé turecké novinářky a spisovatelky Duygu Aseny (1946-2006), která je považována za nejvýraznější představitelku ženské prózy v Turecku. Pro pochopení postojů tohoto žánru jsme se snažili v první kapitole stručně přiblížit historii a vývoj ženského hnutí a popsali situaci žen v dnešním Turecku a v Čechách. Rovněž jsme se domnívali, že tyto informace alespoň částečně mohou přispět k porozumění kulturních a historických odlišností v oblasti reálií a k zjištění, do jaké míry jsou reflektovány tyto problémy v turecké a české společnosti.
