Aging of Bituminous Binders
Veselý, Petr
Bituminous binder in asphalt mixture is exposed to the influence of aging, which is intensified during mixing and paving, as high temperature strongly accelerates the aging of bituminous binders. The aging of the binder is generally divided into short-term and long-term aging. The work focuses on comparing the properties of bitumen binders that differ in penetration value and aging level. All binders in the study are divided into these aging categories, and their properties are compared with the properties of unaged binders. The comparison of properties is carried out using basic empirical tests (penetration and softening point) as well as rheological tests (complex shear modulus and phase angle).
Low temperature properties of asphalt binders and mixtures
Veselý, Petr ; Koudelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
Today’s society is highly reliable on a working road infrastructure, which is because of collective efforts already built in terms of main net of roadways, and the attention is now paid to its service life primarily from a point of view of a climate change which is causing more frequent temperature extremes. This thesis sets its goal to perform basic tests for bitumen, especially ones dealing with low temperature properties, on types of bitumen usually used in out day to day world and asphalt mixtures made with those types of bitumen. The theoretical part talks about the basic definition of bitumen and studies performed on the similar issue. Practical part of the thesis is focused on performing the tests of bitumen and asphalt, which include but are not limited to, penetration test, softening point test, critical temperature detected by method by Fraasse and the bending beam rheometer and the test to set critical temperature of asphalt by using TSRST. At the end of the thesis the evaluation of results and its mutual correlation is performed.

Memories
Prokop, Tomáš ; Veselý, Petr (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
The topic of death and closely associated fragments through which I presented my opinion in this work had a long development. During my life I came across very often with parting my close persons. It is not reaction to present situation. It is a long time process which resulted in solving this problem in my mind. Consideration of the situation in this way helped me to put up with reality and to accept death as the natural phase of living organism. This exhibition was concipated as the memory for people who were a part of my life but now they exist only in my memories. Although this topic may produce a gloomy or controverse impression, my aim was not provocation or agressivity. I want my work to be a gesture of respect for people who are not among us and we should never forget them. The instalation is strongly dependent on space, it goes out of it. I tis necessary to perceive the exhibition completely which is one of the most principal things. A very important thing is a change of space and its cleaning. In this way I tried to achieve the communication between the space and the work of art. The space itself produces a monumental, almost sacral impression which is perfect for my topic. I didn’t want to overfill the space, that is why I chose a minimalistic composition including number of works of art. On purpose I let the space influence in it’s spiritual emptiness and gave it a chance to breath. The intervention in it must be perceived as a support of its expression. My work of art is based on cleanliness and stylisation of symbol.
Analyze of Open Source solutions for a small and middle size companies
Veselý, Jakub ; Veselý, Petr (referee) ; Dydowicz, Petr (advisor)
The object of this Bachelor‘s thesis is to describe the current software situation among small and medium companies and to demonstrate the possibilities of Open Source applications compared to closed source software. The possibilities of Open Software are clarified in terms of testing and studies. Case tudies show the potential of OSS/FS implementation in real environment. This work discovers the main benefits and disadvantages of Open Software and the reasons for their hitherto small usage.
Design and simulation of interior permanent magnet synchronous machine
Veselý, Petr ; Vlach, Radek (referee) ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with the design of a synchronous motor with embedded magnets. First of all, the general theory of synchronous motor, which is focused on field-weakening drive, is described. Then a 6-pole and a 8-pole version of the motor with embded magnet, which has 65 kW and 3000 rpm is complexly designed. Motors are compared with each other and with a motor with surface magnets, that was also designed in this work. Finally, all motors are compared with a mafufactured and measured motor.
Implementation of PBN - Performance Based Navigation Procedures to Regional Airport
Veselý, Petr ; Soldán,, Vladimír (referee) ; Vosecký, Slavomír (referee) ; Kevický, Dušan (advisor)
The thesis focuses on issues of the procedures in the terminal manoeuvring area (TMA) at regional airports. The goal is to provide a complex study of possible implementation of instrumental arrivals, departures and approaches on the basis of the requirements of the Performance Based Navigation (PBN) at a particular regional airport in the Czech Republic (Kunovice airport). The simulative evaluation of the operational impacts caused by the suggested changes in TMA Brno and CTR Kunovice is also a part of the thesis. The last section is focused on providing a generic methodology describing the process of design and evaluation of PBN procedures.
Properties of reinforcing glass-fiber geogrids
Veselý, Petr ; Šperka, Pavel (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
A proper road infrastructure is an essential part of today’s economy. Usage of roadways should be safe and its flow should be easy going. Primary net of roadways is already in place and attention shifts to its maintenance. Because of constantly increasing loads of heavy traffic, roadways are degrading at a faster pace, while there are still smaller time windows and less avialable resources for their reconstruction. That is why there has been rising demand for pavements that last longer and are able to carry higher weights. With respect to the rural roads it becomes obvious because of low amount of resources for their maintenance, that it is necessary to find an effective way to enhance pavements. From the foregoing it can be safe to say, that there is a clear need for reliable, durable and cost-effective technology of maintenance, such as the use of grids in asphalt pavements. This thesis deals with properties of geogrids made of glass fiber after its compaction as well as its effects on reduction or elimination of spreading of cracks in pavements.
Proposal for Improvement of Selected Insurable Product Corporation ING, N.V.
Jalušková, Radka ; Veselý, Petr (referee) ; Martinovičová, Dana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discuss about life insurances of specific financial institutions and its goals is confront specific insurance product, then evaluace its strong and weak qualities against market and potential clients. Main copany will be ING Životní pojišťovna N.V, pobočka pro Českou republiku and key-account insurance product will be investment life insurance Investor Plus. By analyse I am going to find out disadvantages of my produkt against competitor´s products and I will propose its improvement (optimalization) to be more able to compete and more useful for clients.
ECG measurement and processing in LabView
Veselý, Petr ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The thesis, as its title shows, is focused on the ECG signal processing and the QRS complex detection. Its first part provides the anatomical description of the heart itself. Due to the irritation of the heart muscle, the atrium of the heart and the ventricles gradually contract and relax. In these stages, it is possible to measure a certain electric activity of the heart. This is called the ECG. The curve consists of several distinctive waves, the R wave being prevalent among them. Its parameters are predominant for describing the heart activity. Therefore, the next part of the thesis turns to the possibilities of its detection. The detection process is divided in two parts, the first of them being the pre-processing. Here, the signal is arranged in the right shape. This is followed by the detection, which describes the R wave occurrence. These operations use various filters and methods, as described in the following chapters. The output program, designed in the Labview programming environment, is based on the separation of the R wave from the ECG. This is subsequently compared to the threshold value. The values measured here are later used for the heart rate calculation and creating the geometrical description of the HRV
