BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Author: Natálie Bakosová Supervisor: Mgr. Silvie Táborská Title: Role of physiotherapy in preventing injuries of floorball players Abstract: This theoretical-practical thesis focuses on the role of physiotherapy in preventing injuries by floorball players. The theoretical part consists of 6 various topics. The first topic is a general introduction to this sport, its history, rules, and course. The second topic focuses on the analysis of movement aspects typical for this sport, and the third one evaluates the impact of floorball on the musculoskeletal system. Next, the issue of the most common injuries in floorball and their causes are introduced. The fifth topic concentrates on the possibilities of prevention of injuries. The last topic is the role of physiotherapy and its application for intervention in preventing injuries in floorball. The practical part has two aims. The primary one is to create a modified neuromuscular training program (inspired by a Finnish study by Pasanen et al. (2008b)) which is subsequently applied to the players. The program is used as a physiotherapist intervention for the prevention of injuries. The practical use of this program was tested in three case reports of players from the floorball team TJ Sokol Dobříš. The secondary aim is to map the presence...

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Author: Anna Boháčková Supervisor: Ing. Milan Šebek Title: Physiotherapy in patients with neglect syndrome Abstract: This bachelor's thesis explores the topic of physiotherapy for patients with neglect syndrome. The objective of this study is to evaluate the progress of patients with neglect syndrome who undergo physiotherapy using selected methods such as visual scanning, forced use, hemi-field patching, and limb activation training. The thesis consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part summarizes information related to neglect syndrome, with a focus on etiology and pathogenesis, classification, clinical symptoms and physiotherapeutic procedures. The practical part presents case studies of two patients with neglect syndrome. Each patient underwent an initial examination, eight physiotherapy sessions, and a final evaluation that included standardized testing. Both patients demonstrated improvement in their condition. Key words: neglect syndrome, physiotherapy, visual scanning, hemi-field patching, constraint- induced movement therapy, limb activation training
Occupational therapy intervention in patients after vestibular schwannoma surgery
Havlíková, Darina ; Táborská, Silvie (advisor) ; Jeřábek, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Occupational therapy intervention in patients after vestibular schwannoma surgery Abstract: Vestibular schwannoma is a benign tumor of the vestibulocochlear nerve and contains about 8-10% of all intracranial tumors. With an incidence of approximately 1 new case per 100,000 population, it is a rare disease that, although we can now successfully treat, can without an early diagnosis and treatment have debilitating consequences. The main manifestations of schwannomas include hearing loss, tinnitus, vetigo, balance disorders and significantly reduced quality of life. This thesis mainly focuses on the rehabilitation of patients after VS resection. These patients most commonly visit rehabilitation facilities for balance impairment, postoperative paresis n. facialis or deteriorated orientation. Attention is also specifically paid to occupational therapy intervention. The theoretical part approaches the issue of vestibular schwannomas generally, it describes the symptoms and options of treatment. A large part is also devoted to rehabilitation. This work founds a basis for the creation of a clinical practice guideline focused on the rehabilitation of patients after resection of VS. The last section then contains a summary of the intervention for occupational therapy. This paper responds to the absence of...

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT First name and surname: Júlia Hanuliaková Supervisor: Mgr. Silvie Táborská Title of the bachelor thesis: The importance of core stabilization for track and field throwers Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with throwers' core stabilization in athletics. Theoretical part described basics of throw, individual throwers' athletic disciplines, factors influencing sport performances, postural functions and core stabilization. Practical part includes case studies of three probands. Target group was created by young athletes competing in at least one throwers' discipline. Therapeutical intervention was focused on improving core stabilization and took 10 weeks with therapy 2 times a week. The results were analysed based on examination of postural stabilization according to Kolář, chosen functional test and comparison of best achieved results before intervention in seasons 2019, 2020 and 2021 to best achieved results after intervention in season 2021. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate how did the performance of track & field throwers changed after the intervention focused on core stabilization. Furthermore, to create a training unit and increase awareness about core stabilization and its' influence on sport performance of track & field throwers among trainers and the sportsmen...
The Use of McKenzie Approach in the Therapy of low Back Pain.
Štičková, Zuzana ; Muchová, Renáta (advisor) ; Táborská, Silvie (referee)
Title of thesis The Use of McKenzie Approach in the Therapy of Low Back Pain. Abstract: The present thesis addresses the issue of treatment of low back pain and in this respect considers the effectiveness of the McKenzie method. The first sections of the theoretical part of this thesis are focused on the kinesiology and pathology of the components of the lumbar spine. Further sections explain the principles of the mechanical diagnosis and therapy, i.e. the McKenzie method. Their focus is to present the specific features and advantages of this approach. The aim of the practical part is to assess the effectiveness of the McKenzie method in patients with chronic low back pain whose previous treatment had no or only a short term effect. Qualitative research based on three case studies has been chosen to achieve this aim. By assessing and comparing both subjective parameters (e.g. the intensity, distribution and frequency of pain) and objective parameters (e.g. the range of motion, neurological symptoms) before and after the treatment by the McKenzie method, its effectiveness for the use in therapy of chronic low back pain was determined. The results testify in favour of the McKenzie method as a convenient approach in treating patients with this diagnosis. Key words: McKenzie, mechanical diagnosis and therapy,...
Use of Neurodynamics as a Method of Treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Strnadová, Hana ; Táborská, Silvie (advisor) ; Senetyčová, Miroslava (referee)
This Bachelor's Thesis deals with the possibility of using nervous system mobilization when treating carpal tunnel syndrome within the physiotherapeutic intervention in terms of conservative treatment. The theoretical part of the work concerns anatomical and kinesiological aspects of hand and wrist. It also describes nervus medianus, entrapment neuropathy and introduces the neurodynamics method. The practical part focuses on application of this method in two patients, who suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome and who are subject to conservative treatment. The objective of the Thesis is to examine whether and how the symptoms change and if the articular range in active motion of wrist to flexion, extension and radial and ulnar duction will be influenced. After the therapy, both patients proved change in sensation symptoms, and for one of them, articular range in wrist improved. Key words: mononeuropathy, nervus medianus, carpal tunnel syndrome, neurodynamics.
