Suggestion of a Model of a Successful Manager
Kovářová, Petra ; Holán, Josef (referee) ; Pokorný, Jiří (advisor)
As a theme for my diploma thesis I chose „Suggestion of a Model of a successful Manager" for company Unicorn Inc. This model can be used by Unicorn´s owner not only for existing employees but also for hiring new managers and for opening new branches as well. Thanks to my model he will be able to compare existing soft skills of managers who are already on board and he will also know which characteristics, knowledge, experience and processes he should focus on when selecting candidates for managerial positions and posts. The research results, that will be carried out on employed managers, will show which soft skills are neccessary to be focused on when internal empoloyee trainings are carried out. Consequently I will suggest steps that will increase managers´ efficiency which will lead to an increase of efficiency in the whole company.
Video-Conference System for Remote Education
Holán, Josef ; Szőke, Igor (referee) ; Schwarz, Petr (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is to design videoconferential system by Java Media Framework. This means to write two programs. One will capture multimedia data from webcam and will sent it into network. The second application which can receive this data is supposed to be on another computer. The multimedia data are transmitted by using Java Media Framework library. We suppose one lector and group of students. Video and audio channel is transmitted to all students. Communication between lector and student  is solved using chat. Lector has possibility open another audio or video channel with all students. Multimedia data will be transferred using Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP). The message including information about student is transferred by Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).
Centrifugal radial submersible water pump driven by hydrostatic motor
Holan, Jan ; Vlašic, František (referee) ; Nevrlý, Josef (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is aimed to a design of radial underwater pump with hydrostatic powertrain. Thesis contains base knowledge and working principles of water pumps and parts of hydrostatic powertrain. The other part is aimed to detail description of design and issues related to a water pump design. Thesis was created in cooperation with Center of hydraulic development (CENTRUM HYDRAULICKÉHO VÝZKUMU, spol. s r.o.).
Japanese Character Description
Holáň, Jakub ; Zámečníková, Eva (referee) ; Horáček, Petr (advisor)
The Japanese language has from historical reasons a very complicated orthographical system based on more interconnected alphabets where the characters can be logograms (characters representing whole words) as well as phonograms (characters representing single sounds or syllables of a language). When searching or compiling a japanese dictionary various nontrivial methods of sorting these characters have to be used, e.g. sorting them by number of strokes or by radicals (basic building elements of a character). The aim of this thesis is to find an ideal database structure to accurately describe japanese characters and relationships between them. For good measure, a demonstration application has been developed, which can be used as a learning and revision tool for japanese students. The application is intended for internet use and it has been put together using the most up to date web technologies, such as Google Web Toolkit and Java servlets.
Optimization of Warehouse Passing
Holáň, Jan ; Kožár, Tomáš (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
The work focuses on finding the shortest path through the warehouse in order to pick a given number of items. It describes the necessary theory related to mathematical problems related to the topic of this work. Most attention is given to a generally not much discussed topic, which is the grouping of indistinguishable groups of items, in order to obtain the resulting shortest path between items. The result is a C++ library capable of dealing with picking optimization under conditions defined by a specific real company.
Design of onboarding for a cooperative video game
Holan, Jan ; Gemrot, Jakub (advisor) ; Černý, Vojtěch (referee)
Tutorial missions are an essential part of video games. However, their significance is often not emphasized enough during development. This thesis presents a review of the literature related to tutorial design and combines information from the private sector and the academic sphere. The analysis outcome was organized into a clear set of rules. A tuto- rial mission for the cooperative game Silicomrades was designed based on these findings. Two distinct versions of the tutorial were created, centered on one of the conflicts iden- tified during the literature review - whether it is better to use Scaffolding (giving player necessary information right away) for a video game onboarding or Just in time approach (giving player information when he is unsure what to do). An experiment was conducted (n = 28) to identify differences between these two approaches. Participants of the expe- riments played one of the two versions, and then their performance was measured in the specialized mission. None of the experiment findings was of statistical significance, but the results indicated a superiority of the Scaffolding approach (based on the performance and subjective enjoyment). After the experiment, the tutorial mission was refined based on the feedback, and exciting directions for future studies were suggested. 1
Transformace vybraných půdních vlastností po aplikaci biouhlu
Holán, Jiří
Bachelor thesis is focused on assessment of soil chemical properties of Haplic Cambi-sol after biochar application (45t/ha). Long term field experiments of Mendel Univer-sity in Brno are carried out at the Forage crops Research Station at locality Vatín. Se-lected chemical parameters such as soil reaction, conductivity, buffering, humus con-tent and quality of humic substances, and content of available nutrients were deter-mined by commonly used standard methods. Elemental composition of soil was de-termined by ICP-MS (quadrupole mass spectrometr Thermo Scientific iCAP Qc) with inductively coupled plasma. Measured data during 2016 – 2018 were statistically eval-uated using program StatisticaCZ12, software (StatSoft software Inc., Tulsa, Oklaho-ma, USA). Obtained results shown no statistically significant differences between con-trol and application of biochar.
