Dutch Language of the 21st Century. Changes in Vocabulary

This diploma thesis aims to analyse the lexical aspect of the contemporary Dutch language, particularly the influence of foreign languages on the state of Dutch advertising language. A short summary of the changes in language throughout the 20th century is described in the first part of the thesis. The chapters which follow are dedicated to the current specifics of the Dutch vocabulary and the current possibilities of its expanding, including the problematics,of lexical borrowings in Dutch. The specific aspects of advertising and its language also have to be introduced because of the possible consequences on the results of the analysis. In the practical part of the thesis, the own corpus, methodology and hypothesis are presented on the basis of the described secondary literature. Finally, the corpus analysis follows where all relevant results of the lexical analysis are discussed, both qualitatively and partly quantitatively.
Changes in Development of Urban Spatial Structure after 1990 - the Case Study of 5 Towns in South Bohemia

The thesis is focused on changes of spatial urban structure in context of post socialist transformation. The most important phenomena which affect the character of post socialist cities in the two last decades were pointed out on the base of studied literature. The development of the phenomena was examined as a case study of five towns in the Czech Republic. The election of the cities encompasses - Benešov, Jindřichův Hradec, Pelhřimov, Písek and Tábor. The research was pointed on the following features: new residential areas, the quality of estates and its regeneration, the changes caused by industry restructuring, the revitalization of brownfields, the new localization trends of retail and the city centre utilization changes. The aim of the thesis is considering the influence of process diffusion from the capital city. The results of the research indicated some trends of the studied features development. However the intensity of progressing changes was too marginal to assign definite conclusion.
Possibility of activating seniors

This diploma thesis analyses the offer of activation programs of centres, clubs and centres for social services for seniors in the capital city of Prague. The diploma thesis focuses on issues of activation of seniors. The research of the diploma thesis also aims to find out what the benefits of various activation programs for the elderly, how the seniors are looking at specific activities and how important they are to them. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out what activities the seniors are most searching for and whether the choice is related to the age, family status, original vocation and education. The diploma thesis is a case study of empirical character. From the methodological point of view, the thesis uses two basic methods: firstly, the collection and analysis of relevant data from professional literature, and secondly, a qualitative research conducted by semistructured interviews with a representative sample of respondents.
Residential satisfaction on housing estate U Nádraží

This bachelor thesis deals with residential satisfaction, it's fractional aspects of their importance and relation to socio-demographic structure of a group of population, living at Kutna Hora house estate U Nádraží. The study is based on theoretical resources and satisfactory of the population, as well as problems of construction settlement. This study is focused on valuation and analysis of the results obtained via questionnaires, surveys and population census statistical data. The study implies, that the location of selected population living around this area is satisfactory and adequate for a significant segment of the local residents. However, the residental classification does imply some problems. Most of those people living at the location do not consider the place completely safe and ideal for living. Urban revitalization of Prague's Smíchov

This Bachelor thesis deals with the theme of revitalisation of the urban environment. The paper describes the urban renewal process and focuses on the related terms of brownfields and greenfields. The first aim of this work is to analyze the condition of two specific decaying complexes in Prague's Smíchov area: the bus station Praha Smíchov, and the Zlíchov distillery. The station of Smíchov encompasses a huge plot of land, but it isn't fully used. Smíchov's station controls extensive land which is not only partly used. In contrast, the Zlichov distillery ceased production fourteen years ago and has still not been put to use. These problem areas are located in the inner city, and therefore offer great potential for the development of the city. The second objective is to describe the perception of two disturbed areas by residents whose place of residence is located nearby. Ignaz Fr. Platzer's designs of sculptural for the church Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary in Teplá

This work deals with Platzers family, especially with Ignac Frantisek Platzer, from his workshop were preserved an incredible amount of sketches and drawing, for which has not been given sufficient attention so far. Out of a large number of masterpieces conserved in the National Gallery of Prague, will be processed just the part connected with monastery in Teplá where for the church Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary was made a complete sculptural decorations by his workshop. Social housing in Prague

This thesis is focused on the social housing as a housing policy instrument in the territory of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The thesis evaluates the concept from the two comparative advantages of the social housing policy - the first is increase in availability of housing for households that are disadvantaged on the housing market; the second is the possible prevention of development of social- excluded sites. Here in the thesis, those aspects of social housing are investigated on the base of the policy of the Municipality of the capital Prague and on the policy of the particular city-districts. More in detail the impacts of social housing policy are presented for the case of Prague 14 and especially in the case of housing estate Černý Most. There is a high ratio of the municipal housing.
