Book of Abstracts and Programme
Beneš, Hynek ; Starý, Zdeněk
The Book of Abstracts and Programme contains time order and the summaries of all the contributions to the international conference “Polymers for Sustainable Future 2024” was organized simultaneously as the 85th Prague Meeting on Macromolecules (PMM) and 11th Conference on Green Chemistry and Nanotechnologies in Polymeric Materials. The participants presented 84 lectures and 91 posters.
14th International Bordetella Symposium
Šebo, Peter
We shall discuss the latest research achievements in the Bordatella/pertussis filed and how to tackle the challenge of current pertussis resurgence. We will assess what needs to be done to overcome the limitations of current acellular pertussis vaccines in order to curb the resurgence and transmission of whoopong cough.
Book of Abstracts. 19th Youth symposium on experimental solid mechanics
Kytýř, Daniel ; Zlámal, Petr ; Pagliaro, A. ; Doktor, T.
The YSESM symposium provides a forum for young researchers and engineers, PhD students and students dealing with subjects of experimental mechanics. The Symposium concentrates on current work in all areas of experimental research and its application in solid and fluid mechanics. The topic will particularly concern to: Conventional and advanced experimental methods in solid and fluid mechanics - Non-destructive testing and inspection - Measurements in material science - Computer assisted testing and simulation - Engineering design simulation - Hybrid methods, experimental techniques – Numerical simulation - Optical methods and image processing - Measurements in biomechanics - Sensor techniques for micro- and nano-applications - Measurement methods for forensic engineering
DYNAMICS OF MACHINES AND MECHANICAL SYSTEMS WITH INTERACTIONS : PROCEEDINGS DYMAMESI 2024
Zolotarev, Igor ; Pešek, Luděk ; Kozień, M. S.
The aim of the DYMAMESI is to facilitate the exchange of up to date information and knowledge among specialists in structural and multibody dynamics, in coupled interacting systems as aero-elasticity, hydro-elasticity, biomechanics, systems with feedbacks and mechatronics. In 2023 will be hosted by Cracow University of Technology, Institute of Applied Mechanics, Section of Dynamics of Systems.
Epigraphica & Sepulcralia 14. Forum of epigraphical and sepulchral studies. Proceedings of the conference Family Necropolises in Bohemia: Possibilities and Methods of Their Research and Presentation, Prague 26-27 October 2022
Chlíbec, Jan ; Hrdinová, M.
The collection of narrowly specialised studies is a product based on the interdisciplinary symposium Family Necropolises in Bohemia: Possibilities and Methods of Their Research and Presentation (Prague 2022) within the research programme Strategy AV21: Anatomy of European Society, this meeting of experts is one of the outcomes of the project Family Necropolises in Bohemia in the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern Times: Regionalism, Inter-Regionalism and Internationalism. Family necropolises and their artistic equipment are important sources of knowledge about the life of noble society in the Late Middle Ages and early modern times. The given theme is examined from various aspects combining the humanities and exact sciences – from the perspectives of history, art history, archaeology, and geological disciplines, as well as a detailed analysis of archival sources. These various approaches produce a manifold image of the studied issue. At the turn of the Middle Ages and modern times new noble necropolises emerged whose artistic aspect – tombstones and epitaphs, sometimes with other funeral elements such as family banners, shields, and armour – mark a significant chapter of Czech art history. The craftsmanship as well as the type of material selected for these works often reflect the period and fashion trends in the field of sepulchral art culture. Furthermore, noble necropolises as a sacral space served as family self-presentation, a place that in addition to the religious function documented profound tradition of the family, its glory, and social status; figural tombstones, if present, may have acted as a portrait gallery of the family.
One thousand and fifty years of the Bishopric of Prague
Kotous, J. ; Sommer, Petr ; Vaníček, V.
The book is dedicated to the 1050th anniversary of the foundation of the Prague bishopric. The first block of studies places the topic of the first Czech diocese in the Central European context of the Carolingian and Ottonian empires, the related ecclesiastical institutions and the Christianization processes in their individual parts, e.g. among the Polabian Slavs. The second block of texts traces the processes leading to the building of the foundations of the Bohemian diocese, its establishment and its continuity with the Great Moravian ecclesiastical beginnings. Equally important are the probes tracing the process of Christianization of Czech society, the relationship between the Prague bishops and the Czech ruler, and the emergence of church organization. The book concludes with studies tracing the Czech and Moravian bishoprics at the turning points of the Hussite and Reformation periods, the Recatholization and the reforms of Joseph II.
Programs and Algorithms of Numerical Mathematics 21 : Jablonec nad Nisou, June 19-24, 2022 : Proceedings of Seminar
Chleboun, J. ; Kůs, Pavel ; Papež, Jan ; Rozložník, Miroslav ; Segeth, Karel ; Šístek, Jakub
These proceedings contain peer-reviewed papers that are based on the invited lectures, short communications, and posters presented at the 21st seminar Programs and Algorithms of Numerical Mathematics (PANM) held in Merkur Hotel, Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic, June 19-24, 2022.\nThe seminar was organized by the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences under the auspices of EU-MATHS-IN.CZ, Czech Network for Mathematics in Industry, and with the nancial support provided by the RSJ Foundation. It continued the previous seminars on mathematical software and numerical methods held (biennially, with only one exception) in Alšovice, Bratříkov, Janov nad Nisou, Kořenov, Lázně Libverda, Dolní Maxov, Prague, and Hejnice in the period 1983-2020. The objective of this series of seminars is to provide a forum for presenting and discussing advanced topics in numerical analysis, computer implementation of numerical algorithms, new approaches to mathematical modeling, and single- or multi-processor applications of computational methods.
