Transitional periods in one's life and their managing
Zezulová, Dominika ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (advisor) ; Štětovská, Iva (referee)
The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the study of each transitory phase of the human's lifespan. The leading thread of this thesis is the Erikson's life stages theory that leads us by its nature to overcome the challenges of each stage. This basic approach is completed with partial findings of other theories in order for each stage to be introduced with all its conflicts, risks and challenges that can lead to the development of person's character. Text is completed with theoretical processing of several specific stage transitions (for example the beginning of the school attendance, wedding, beginning of the retirement etc.) One chapter is dedicated to the ritual as a tool of managing the transitional periods. Practical part of the thesis is presented by the current phenomenon of postponing the transition from childless to maternal stage of woman's life with the help of analysis of internet discussions where the motivations of young women for the postponing of motherhood are studied. Keywords: transitional period, transitional crisis, postponing motherhood
Methods for monitoring inter-library loans at selected libraries in Czech Republic
Chržová, Michaela ; Římanová, Radka (advisor) ; Pavlásková, Eliška (referee)
Metody sledování prezenčních výpůjček ve vybraných knihovnách v České republice Michaela Chržová Abstrakt (anglicky) The thesis is focused on the issue of monitoring inter-library loans with examples of particular libraries. This thesis commences with a definition of the in-house use and other basic terms and places them in the context of providing library loan services, the organization of library collections and the accessibility of documents in libraries. A separate chapter discusses the issue of feedback in libraries. This section describes the principle of feedback and describes the methods used and suitable for monitoring inter-library loans. Part is also devoted to the research that had been held in the past in the Czech Republic and abroad. The practical part deals with the survey of monitoring inter-library loans at libraries in the Czech Republic that was conducted via a questionnaire. Results are evaluated and described in this thesis. Examples of specific libraries show ways how to use data collected by monitoring in-house use in the acquisition of documents, development and organization of library collections. The result of this thesis is a description of methods for monitoring inter- library loans at selected libraries in the Czech Republic.
Using yaPOSH for CTF team behaviour
Zelinka, Mikuláš ; Bída, Michal (advisor) ; Bošanský, Branislav (referee)
Title: Using yaPOSH for CTF team behaviour Author: Mikuláš Zelinka Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: Mgr. Michal Bída Abstract: We evaluated the suitability of yaPOSH (an action-selection system for virtual agents) for complex team behaviour development, specifically for the Capture the Flag (CTF) mode in Unreal Tournament 2004. We created a CTF team using yaPOSH and Java and compared them with a CTF team written by V. Tuma in plain Java as well as with the native UT2004 bots. We found out that although yaPOSH does have some advantages over plain Java (mainly in code readability), one cannot create a competitive bot using yaPOSH only. That is a direct consequence of the limitations the yaPOSH planner has, with the most significant one being lack of parallelism support. Thus, some as- pects of the behaviour (such as combat) were programmed in Java. Nevertheless, the resulting team is better than the native bots by a margin and slightly better than Tuma's CTF team. As a result, we have made several suggestions for improvements of the yaPOSH engine as well as its editor, such as to add the possibility to execute multiple ya- POSH plans at once, or to enable their parallel evaluation. These suggestions and our other findings are not limited to the chosen domain of...
Clipping in present-day French
Matějková, Barbora ; Štichauer, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Loucká, Hana (referee)
Clipping in present-day French The objective of this bachelor's thesis is to contribute to the explanation of conditions of the use of clipped words in contemporary French. The thesis focuses on the aplicability of the apocope on deverbative substantives suffixed with -ion in the context of their resultative and processive usage. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the basic characteristics of extragrammatical processes and clipped words on the one hand, and provides a theoretical base for the formulation of our hypothesis on the other hand. The hypothesis of our thesis is taken over from the works of Françoise Kerleroux and consists in the difference of aplicability of the apocope in resultative and processual context of the word. The practical part deals with the description of the methodology used for the verification of the hypothesis on the one hand, and the analysis and interpretation of the results on the other hand. We base our research on the observation of the clipped words in textual database Frantext and a questionnaire survey of native speakers. The purpose of the questionnaire is to verify, that the clipped form is used only in a resultative usage of the word, whereas is not acceptable in processual usage. Key words: French, morphology, extragrammatical morphology,...
Reliability of systems with redundant subsystems and/or elements
Čáha, Pavel ; Antoch, Jaromír (advisor) ; Hurt, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with the basic notions of the (system) reliability theory as e.g., failure, time to failure, reliability function, mean time to failure, intensity of failures, etc. It also describes probability distributions that are frequently used in the field of (system) reliability. Fourth chapter is focused on the reliability of basic systems as, e.g., serial, prallel, circle and star, using Boolean algebra and Markov chains. The last part of the thesis describes the simulation of complex systems. This part also includes two programmes. The first one enables a simulation of reliability of basic systems and the second reliability of the network of the building MFF UK, Karlín. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Career counseling in the organizational context
Řádková, Lucie ; Kirovová, Iva (advisor) ; Uhlář, Pavel (referee)
This bachelor thesis addresses the issue of the career counseling within organizations. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the topic of career, its historical development and current conceptions of career. Further it deals with the topic of career counseling, its historical development and some key concepts and approaches. One of areas where can be career counseling applied is organizational context. Career counseling is a part of a wider career support that can be provided by organizations to their employees. Bachelor thesis summarize how can be career counseling in organizations utilized, which are its goals in the organizational context and how it relates to another activities of career management. Applied part of the thesis proposes the project of the research with the objective of developing a questionnaire that could measure the need of the use of the career counseling within organizations.
Fractional derivatives, theory and applications
Pelech, Petr ; Kučera, Václav (advisor) ; Dolejší, Vít (referee)
This work represents an overview of the given topic. After a short historical intro- duction, we present all necessary results from the classical theory of differentiation and integration. The core of the thesis is concerned with the Riemann-Liouville (R-L) integral and derivative of real functions defined on compact intervals. We prove basic properties for integrable as well as continuous functions. Along with the R-L definition, we also give the Caputo and Grünwald-Letnikov definitions and their mutual relations. Furthermore, we calculate the R-L derivatives of some elementary functions as well as basis functions from the finite element method. The last part is concerned with the numerical approximation of R-L derivatives. We describe and implement two algorithms, which we test on several functions. 1
Viditelnostní grafy
Král, Karel ; Valtr, Pavel (advisor) ; Balko, Martin (referee)
In the thesis we study visibility graphs focusing on the Big Line Big Clique conjecture. For a given finite point set P in real plane we say that two points see each other if and only if the open line segment between them contains no point from P. Points from P are vertices of the visibility graph, and two points are connected by an edge if and only if they see each other. Kára et al. conjectured that for every finite big enough point set there are at least ℓ collinear points, or the clique number of its visibility graph is at least k. In the thesis we generalize the conjecture, and thus provide an alternative proof for k = ℓ = 4. We also review related known results. We strengthen an observation about occurrence of a Hamiltonian cycle in visibility graphs. We characterize the asymptotic behavior of the edge chromatic number of visibility graphs. We show that for given n, ℓ, k the original conjecture is decidable by a computer. We also provide computer experiments both for the generalized and for the original conjecture. 1
Unamuno's philosophy in his The Tragic Sense of Life
Kalkusová, Tereza ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (advisor) ; Poláková, Dora (referee)
(in English) The thesis deals with a complex analysis of Unamuno's The Tragic Sense of Life. The assumption for that is the investigation of the literary and intellectual framework from which the author's ideas were derived. For the analysis is used the cultural and historical context of the text, as well as its comparison with other Unamuno's literary and essayistic works, as these diffuse formally and conceptually.
