Using optimization methods to design machine parts
Kubrický, Daniel ; Pokorný, Přemysl (referee) ; Zeizinger, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes using structural optimization methods to design machine parts. In the first part of the thesis, a description of the current state of knowledge of the optimization process was made together with its theoretical background. In the second part of the thesis, a static analysis and topology optimization or Generative design was developed using the example of a bell crank in six commercial software. In the third part, the resulting models of each software were compared with each other, and the results were compared using the von Mises maximum stress criterion and the overall model deformation. Finally, this work was concluded with an evaluation of the use of the structural optimization software.
Disc brake design and construction for the Simson S51 motorcycle
Povýšil, Jan ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Dvořák, Jaromír (advisor)
The work is focused on the design, production, and tests of a disc brake for the Simson S51 motorcycle, whose original brake system is quite problematic, has low efficiency, and is already obsolete from today's point of view. In the beginning, the work deals with the issue of motorcycle brake systems and compares individual solutions. The design is processed in CAD software Autodesk Inventor Professional 2023, including drawing documentation, and mechanical calculations of the design are mainly performed in the ANSYS 2022R2 application. The work briefly summarizes the production process used to produce the given prototype. A comparison is made with commercially available solutions and a price calculation for production is made. Finally, tests of the functionality of the physically produced prototype and a comparison with the original braking system are performed.
Stress-strain analysis of the LKDS800 frame
Tománek, Jiří ; Vlk, Miloš (referee) ; Vosynek, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with frame of the two-point crank press LKDS800, which was designed by company ŽĎAS a.s. Frame is welded construction creating the base of the press which has mass approximately 90 tonnes. Aim of this study was to perform strain-stress analysis of the frame. From obtained results perform optimization of mass this frame leading to reduce material costs and machining. In the process is frame loaded by nominal forces from the shearing process, under its own weight and inertia forces caused by moving components. As a result of the dynamic loading in welded joints there are risks of fatigue fracture. The manufacturer of the press is required to find the most loaded welded joint and it to assess the fatigue life.
Vehicle Ball-Joint Accelerated Testing
Sýkora, Bohumír ; Ludvík, Jan (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the design and the development of accelerated Life test of Ball-joint in cooperation with company TRW-DAS a. s. The diploma thesis includes a review about accelerated life tests on specialized tests made by the company. In the thesis are analyzed the preparations of accelerated life tests, the implementation and verification by experiment. The thesis also includes the computer strain simulation of Ball-Joint by FEM software.
Electromagnetic field calculation of Induction machine for different mechanical load
Hetflajš, Martin ; Kurfűrst, Jiří (referee) ; Skalka, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with an analysis of the induction machine electromagnetic field distribution with real parameters. Whole analysis was done for three point of the mechanical load by finite element method in ANSYS. In the next part is described a basic theoretically research of the electromagnetic field and also preliminary survey of the numeric method for FEM. This thesis also contains an analysis of electromagnetic model of analyzed induction machine with detailed description of each analysis step and in conclusion the results summary was done.
Passive compensation of a thermal deformation for a machine tool
Šabart, Adam ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Hermanský, Dominik (advisor)
This master thesis deals with passive compensation of a thermal deformation for a binder of portal machining center. The problem is solved by computational modeling with finite element method using ANSYS Workbench software. Afterwards mathematical optimization (also using ANSYS Workbench software) is used for finding binder parameters in order to reduce thermal deformation and its weight. The output is two new versions of binder which are compared to the original configuration.
Suspension footbridge across the Elbe River
Gregor, Petr ; Kocourek, Petr (referee) ; Stráský, Jiří (advisor)
The objective of this master´s thesis is a design of suspension footbridge across the Elbe river. The footbridge is suspended construction by three spans. The brick deck is supported on the outer edges and it is kept in a parabolic arc. The suspension cables are kept at two inclined levels. The model is implemented in the program ANSYS. The solution is non-linear. The designe is according to the europien standart.
Analyses of the Compressed Air Energy Storage proces in Ansys Fluent system
Hájková, Věra ; Šabacká, Pavla (referee) ; Maxa, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discusses different types of energy storage in the introduction. It describes the different technologies, their functions, advantages and disadvantages. It compares them on the basis of the ESOI ratio, which is the ratio of energy stored on invested. The main type of energy storage covered in the term paper is compressed air energy storage. The thesis describes the principle of a method of energy storage as well the companies and projects that are working on or using this technology. Furthermore, the issue of heat energy loss during air compression is outlined, which leads to a significant reduction in efficiency. The last part of the thesis is a practical part, which uses a model example to show the temperature and pressure evolution during the pumping of air into the storage tank.
Computational tool for a stress-strain analysis of the mechanically loaded circular and annular plate
Dohnal, Jakub ; Majer, Zdeněk (referee) ; Ševeček, Oldřich (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis primarily deals with the creation of a computational tool for stress-strain analysis of rotationally symmetric circular and intercircular plates. The commercial software MATLAB and its component APP DESIGNER were used for this purpose. The program uses analytical relationships of general solid mechanics to solve differential equations for several types of plates and loads. Part of the bachelor thesis is also a parametric study comparing the outputs of analytical and numerical model based on the finite element method, aimed at identifying the practical application of the analytical solution and its accuracy for a particular case of the plate.
Stress and strain analysis of femoral intramedullary nail fixation and tapes
Lamrich, Martin ; Marcián, Petr (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
The presented Master’s Thesis aims at determining stress and strain analysis of femur with fracture fixed by intramedullary nail and cerclage cable. The one of the goals of this work was create computational model which will be able simulate problem. Computational model consist of model of femur , it’s geometry was created on basis of CT data, than there was created model of intramedullary nail and cerclage cable on a basis of real objects. In this work was created simply model of femur with the same material features and characteristic proportions as analyzed model of femur. On this model was investigated direct impact of cerclage cables on deformation, respectively displacement in a surroundings of femoral fracture. On a final model were applied the real loads conditions. Preload in a cerclage cable was simulated by cooling down to a temperature from analytical calculation. Concluding analysis was powered by Finite Element Method (FEM) applied in system ANSYS Workbench 14.5 . Due to a results of analysis, we could say that using cerclage cables in combination with intramedullary nail is an effective way for healing femoral shaft fractures.
