Media education in secondary schools and vocational schools for civic participation of disadvantaged youth

Mediální gramotnost se stále silněji stává předpokladem plnohodnotné občanské participace. Ta se zejména mezi mládeží přesouvá od tradičních forem k nekonvenčním, viz např. Fridays for Future. Možnosti a schopnosti zapojit se do veřejné debaty však nejsou distribuovány rovnou měrou. Jedním z nástrojů k zúžení této "participační mezery" může být podle řady studií mediální výchova (MV). Tato práce předkládá participativní akční výzkum zkoumající možnosti MV pro rozvoj občanské participace znevýhodněné mládeže. Těží především z tříměsíční intervence na středním odborném učilišti (SOU) v Lounech, do níž se v roce 2019 zapojilo sedmnáct studentů ve věku 17 až 19 let. Objem empirického i teoretického výzkumu v této oblasti roste, avšak v kontextu střední Evropy jde o minimálně probádanou oblast, pro česká SOU pak tematické studie takřka neexistují. Práce je unikátní i v kombinaci on-line a off-line aktivit s fyzickou účastí studentů na veřejné občanské akci a v důrazu na propojení školního a mimoškolního života. Výzkum mimo jiné prověřil sadu rysů výukových metod MV doporučených předchozími studiemi a dospěl zejména k doporučení holistického přístupu, dlouhodobých projektů a k narušení školní rutiny. Quality Management of secondary vocational education on the territory of the capital city of Prague

This diploma thesis deals with the issues related to the quality management system in the field of secondary education, specifically in relation to the provision of education with an apprenticeship certificate. The quality management system is mostly associated with the private sector as a production process. However, the quality of services is as important as the quality of products. Quality management has also been known to the public sector for several years. Also state administration organizations, local authorities, universities, etc. deal with the quality management system. Secondary schools should certainly not be excluded from this sphere, as it is a necessary part of the school education system. The quality of the education provided, its course and results should undoubtedly be systematically managed. The first part of the thesis contains the definition of basic concepts focused on education and the school education system, defining quality, quality management methods (ISO, TQM, EFQM, CAF) and the principles of quality management in education. The definition of terms and related principles is based on the study of scientific literature, valid legal regulations and other documents focused on the quality management system. Research of Value Orientation in Students of Secondary School and High School, Purpose the Intervention Program.

Thesis deals with the value orientation of students in secondary schools and secondary vocational schools. The aim is to map their value system and then based on the results of research to design an intervention program to promote internalization of values desired. The theoretical part includes a systematic search of the available literature values and their hierarchy, the age period of adolescence, the ways and possibilities of educating students given age period and the role of schools in shaping values and their internalization. The main method of the practical part of the work is own questionnaire assessing the value orientation of students in selected secondary schools and secondary vocational schools. On the basis of the results was designed educational intervention program. Results are shown for better clarity in written and graphical form. The program is described in detail. There are given a specific samples teaching unit on the topic for the development of desired values of the students. The program could become educational material for teachers of health education and other relatives.
